As the hobgoblins begin to form up around Archanost, Valaith turns towards the nearest enemies and rushes towards them quickly as she seeks to end their existence! Rook slams heard into the ground, shaking up several loose rocks as the hobgoblin dodges away from the large head of the hammer!
Valen takes a quick slash at the opposing goblin before him. It was a careful strike, but such things were necessary as they were surrounded and the goblin's mount could easily pull him down. "La Bastion stands with the Archarnost, and with the dwarves! You will not pass this Wall!"

The hobgoblins rapidly regroup, surging in to stab at Valaith and Thurston in concert. Though Val is able to dodge two of the blades, her shining breastplate protecting her from much of what does hit home, Thurston is less lucky. Hobgoblin blades corner the brave Norscan on all sides and one slips past his defences, finding a gap in the paladin's plate armour and delivering a deep and blood wound.
Val takes 14 slashing damage to vigour from two attacks, reduced to 6 by DR -> 39/45 Vigour
Thurston takes 60 slashing damage to vigour and 3 slashing damage to wounds, reduced to 34 and 3 by DR -> 6/40 Vigour, 15/18 Wounds, 3 Bleed
Meanwhile, Valen faces off with one of the worgs, which savages his steed, but fails to pull it to the ground. The goblin rider's blade merely clangs off of his own splint mail.
Valen's Horse takes 6 piercing damage to vigour, reduced to 2 by DR -> 17/19 Vigour
Valen takes 3 slashing damage to vigour, reduced to 0 by DR
Yet another warg rider comes charging towards Uglar and Jex, the worg biting at Uglar's boar even as the goblin slashes wildly at the dwarf.
Vark hangs low to the top of the cart, trying to maintain his balance on the shuddering vehicle while wiping the trickle of blood from his nose. He watches Thurston become surrounded and wounded by the defending hobgoblins, and he lets off a duo of eldritch blasts to support his friend. Not satisfied with merely battering the foes from afar, Vark leaps down and rushes into the fray. He channels the surging speed of a sudden storm, shouting a rapid incantation as he runs. The tip of Path Maker becomes magnetically drawn to the metal armor in front of him, and upon impact the hobgoblin is wracked by ruby sparks. As Vark pulls back and prepares for another strike, his enemy's body is left quivering from the shock.
Val finds herself surrounded by the hobgoblins and a brief flash of fear breaks through her rage as memories and phantom pains twitch in her gut, but turns to see the ghostly visage of her brother standing beside her. She yells in defiance at the hobgoblins as they press their advantage, easily knocking aside two of their attacks with Rook and grinning wickedly at the two pitiful attacks that get through her defenses as they do little. Hurrig rides up into a flank behind one of the hobs upon the cart and Val looks to press her own advantage! She swings Rook in a powerful attack, but the constant harrying from the hobgoblins causes her attack to swing way wide and slam into the ground!
The enemies, seemligly determined to keep their attack even if the Archanost keep pushing them away, surrounded the paladin and, with the milatry efficiency they used to, launch some well palced attacks towards the less prtected areas of his armor. The Norscan felt the edge of their weapons cutting his flesh and muscle and the blood started to pour out the wounds.
Grunting, and using Thor's blessing to close his wounds with a small spark of lighting that crossed his body, he saw how Vrak comes to his aid and smiles, launching Rikkazarik in an upward movement, he connected a hit on the jaw of the one who was wounded by his ally.
"We have to kill them my friends!!" he yells " They seem to be fueled by some religious madness to that demon god of theirs. Come here!! " he taunts them " Just one servant of Thor will send you screaming to Hel where you can find you god..."
As Uglar and the Boar continue to fight the wargs in front of them, Jex looks back to see his friend in need. "Thurston!" He draws his bow, letting a shot loose at the weakened hobgoblin flanking Thurston, it bites deep into the existing wound, surely a fatal blow!
"Not one servant of Thor! Two! You never need fight alone again!" He adjusts his position on the boar, trying to see the whole battle and which of his friends may be most in need of some support.
The field was strewn with bodies of goblinoids and dwarves alike. The Archarnost had come to turn the tide, but not before the city's defenders had bled. Amidst the rising chaos at the gates, one such body lay in an unfortunate place. As Valen swung his warhorse about, its leg stumbled over the body beneath. The potentially lethal kick with its hooves went wild, and its rider's blade lost its vicious ire as both struggled to keep their footing.

Thurston was starting to feel that fight was taking too much time. On the corner of his eye he saw the other side and how Val was surrounded and wished to go there to help, but they still got two fighting enemies nearby. That shall end, swiftly.

His eyes track to Val, who despite Hurrig’s aid is still surrounded by mostly untouched foes. The mage sets his sights on two of these hobgoblins and begins a primordial incantation. Flashing sparks of red electricity coalesce around Path Maker’s tip as Vark coasts through the air. The incantation reaches a crescendo and suddenly an arc of lightning jumps from the spear to his other outstretched hand and the crimson bolts rocket out from both ends of the arc.
