"Did you miss when I just teleported to Khaz a Grungron like... an hour ago?" Vark says incredulously. "I know how to use the circles, but the one in Sheercleft is still blocked off and that's the closest one to Endelfjell I know. I can't remember if Aury had one in his keep or not but... well I'd need to study it again now that I know how they work anyway." He huffs out an impatient sigh.
"Ye blinked away, then came back. Didn't seem very controlled, more like ye had a feelin' an' jumped at it. If yer sure ye can do it, send fer Seid t'look at it. Maybe get ahold o'Dorno too an' see if he can help dig out Sheercleft's cicle?"

"Yeah that was crazy " nods Thurston. " You should leave the witchcraft to the witches and warlocks... So!!"he slaps his hands " Are we going to split into rooms to get some rest then? " he asks looking to the rooms. For a moment an idea crosses his mind. Take Val into one of the rooms and close the door behind... but then the pain on his cheeks remember him that he would need some time to rest and heal the wounds the acid had made. With a deep sigh he then approaches Aiden and motion him to take a few steps apart from the group.
" Hear me brother. I do not know what's going on with you... but.. have you noticed that you are kind of... blue? and that thing that covers your skin... man it reeks! It's like you had took a bath into troll piss... You should take a bath... or three... "
Aiden nods at the comment, and takes a sniff of his underarms. "It's purple," he says, "And I don't know what you mean...but it's those potions Valaith gave me. They did this."

"Hate t'say, friend, but he's right. Ye smell like a dozen pairs o'pants after a day in th' mines. Oi, where's those fancy-looking weapons we found? I need to t'have a talk with our new 'associates' locked up below. Figure their leader's weapon is a good show, eh? That, or we tell'em they spend a night with a purple monster that breathes lightnin' an' smells like a dead dog in a shithole." Bründir gives Aiden a friendly nudge before rummaging through the few collected Mastercraft weapons, fiddling and flourishing them for weight.

“Ohhhh... I thought one of the bandits we electrified must have spilled his bowels and you stepped in it... here let me see...” Vark walks up to Aiden with his nose pinched and passes a hand over the cleric. Little red sparks jump from his palm to the man as he attempts to dispel the horrendous odor.
The red sparks cleanse his skin, leaving it its normal tone. For a moment, Aiden can smell the horrendous body odor as Vark's magic tears it away. "Gods," he says, coughing slightly. "Thank you, Vark."
To nobody in particular, he says, "Where did these potions come from?"
Val laughs loud and long when Aiden tells them the source of the odor and discoloration, it takes several minutes before she regains control of her mirth. She shrugs in response to Thurston's question. "How was I to know they would do that? I drank one before and did not turn purple and smell of goblin shite." In spite of this she looks at Aiden and starts to giggle again, a poorly repressed smile on her lips. "I am sorry, Aiden, most of the potions we have came from a goblin's liar, I think he was an arca mist."
"It's ok friend... it could have been worse... you could had turned green!!"he looks at Val and he cannot stop the laugh. It seems that all the tension from the assault and the fights is finally starting to wear off. "Wait.. there is nothing to eat or drink in this fortress?!"
As Bründir leads the others down to chit chat with the new prisoners, Vark begins flipping through the piles of parchment and tomes he plundered from Sora’s room. “Uhm, hey Aiden...” he calls over, catching the cleric before he heads out of the room. “Do you wanna help me look through this stuff? Here,” he says, handing Aiden the book on Artus Breanor. “I can use the codex to read these other ones if you wanna take this one.” His eyes glow red as he begins the ritual to comprehend languages, and they continue to cast ruby light on the pages as he dives in.
Sora’s alchemical notes and spellcraft rough drafts are of interest to the young arcanist, but after skimming through themand determining there isn’t much new or useful information he sets them aside. He picks up one of the elven books next, this one seeming to detail the Morrigan and the various other incarnations of Matthew’s sister, Talona. At last Vark has a clear picture of this dark and mysterious figure, and he excitedly blurts out interesting details about her as he reads. Of particular note is mention of the Illearth Stone. “We know what Matthew’s stone can do... I wonder what Talona’s does. They’re probably all different right? I wonder... maybe if we had them all we could use them against Matthew...” he ponders as he puts the book down, though the look on his face is not exactly hopeful.
The last tome on his reading list is quite old, and as he goes to pick it up he gasps as the spine threatens to disintegrate. He takes a breath and places a hand on the ruby, drawing on it’s power to focus his hands as he begins gingerly flipping through the pages. The picture that this tome paints is even broader than the last, and as Aiden finishes his own book Vark begins reading aloud. “This is... this is everything we’ve been missing!” he says as he comes to the end. “Well, most of it... I didn’t realize that orcs came from... does that mean that Matthew... or Gabriel or Asmodeus... geez they all have so many names... he did tell me once that he was supposed to have been an orc. But uhm... anyway yeah, if we can figure out how the Alliance banished Matthew and the others the first time then we could figure out how to stop them again if... if we need to.”
Aiden thumbs through the story. "The story of Artus Breannor and the unification of the eastern human kingdoms into Breanne. It says the Lady bade them to unite all the land and create this new kingdom. They built Camwen where the rivers Bradburne, Farrel and Tuertonon meet the river Laene at her behest...she reminds me much of the goddess Freya." Aiden scratches his chin at yet another parallel between the religions of Breanne and Norsca. "Anyway, Artus's five vassals were each given rule of one of the five duchies, and they were given blades blessed by the Lady's river -- I assume this means Laene -- under the light of the moon."
His gaze drops to the old-style Breannian sword he has laid at his side. It couldn't possibly be...no, too great of a coincidence.

Aiden lets out a sharp laugh. "Just thinking that if Valaith gave me both goblin-crafted healing potions and the sword of Artus Breannor or one of his vassals, that perhaps it would have been worth turning purple...but I highly doubt that is the case.

“Mmmm well, we did get that sword from the Mabinogi. And some of them are Breannian nobles so... it’s not that implausible actually. Seid might know more...” His eyes scan over the exotic steel before looking back up to Aiden. “If it’s blessed by a goddess though, I think I’d be able to tell.” He looks back down again but this time his eyes glow blue as he opens his senses to the weave.
Vark shakes his head and Aiden frowns. "Blessed by a goddess," he says, repeating Vark's words. "Wait a moment." Aiden grabs the book again, and leafs through the pages, searching for the passage about the blades that the Lady granted to Breannor and his vassals. Finding it, he reads, "And the Lady of the River said, 'Should you require the Lady's strength, submerge your blade in the light of the moon and it shall absorb my power.'"
He stands, taking the sword in his hands. "Would you two care to accompany me to the courtyard for what I am sure is to be a failure of an experiment?"
Vark and Thurston agree, and the trio heads outside to the fort's courtyard.

I am pretty sure that after all that rain we could easily find one nearby... And we could check the exterior door in our way out... see what happened there and even close it before we spend the night..."
