Archie gets up and is going through his normal routine. Scratches his belly. “Morning folks.” As he shifts through all the gear hoping by to find anything better than what’s in the rations. “Looking for animals? I can help with that... or at least talking to them.” Dorno, let’s go big man. We are going to look for something to talk to and maybe something to eat.... maybe those two things can be the same thing.”
Thurston's prayers are answered only by a growing sense of unease and echoes of a thunderous, bestial roar inside his head, that jolt him from his reverie bringing his awareness back to his surroundings.
Archie, on the other hand, is too loud and hectic to find anything here without Dorno's aid.
Bründir has a growing anxiety about walking into enemy territory. As a result, he spends more time looking over his shoulder than searching for a trail.

Dorno scowls as Archie finishes suggesting they eat the same thing they find to talk to. "No, I will go ask a friend. You won't touch him."
The firbolg sets off to find the creatures of the forest, or hills and grasslands as it may be, and ask them if they've seen other humanoids in the last 24 hours, where they saw them, and what direction they were headed.
Finding a rabbit to speak to, Dorno greats this 'friend', telling him he means no harm and chatting about the weather and such. Luckily he is able to find out some information about where they should go next. He also finds out that foxes have been taking their toll on the local rabbit community. "It is what the fox will do. The fox must eat. It is nature. But the fox will eat berries and things, too. Try to gather berries for the fox. Maybe they will leave you alone. For one day, maybe. If not... hmmm... Hang around with a fat badger. You don't have to be faster than the fox then. Just the badger. It is a sad, though. Nature is hard and beautiful. It is both. Sorry Mr. Rabbit." Dorno shrugs. "Good luck!"
Dorno returns to the party and tells them what he has learned. "We must go to the north east. I will ask my friends again in a bit."
The party breaks camp and heads off into the grass-covered jumble of hills. In the low areas between them, this area can be very confusing indeed. With just rising grass in every direction one can easily lose their way. However, atop each hill the enormous trees of Eldren forest can still be seen a distance away to the west, while the Ice Cap Peaks rear up in the east, making orientation possible with a little thought. Most of the time the sun guides the party due north.
OOC - Survival checks from everybody please to maintain orientation.
They party treks across the open hills for a good two hours. Valaith leads for the most part, as her sense of direction is best, although Thurston and Vark too are used to travelling under the open sky and keep the group on track. For the most party they see only the wild animals of the region. Plenty more rabbits, the occasional deer, and wild birds dot the landscape, feeding from the rolling meadows. As the party takes a brief break to get their bearings, a thin column of smoke comes into view in the distance to the east.
OOC - Those with a passive perception of 13 or above spot the smoke.
"I say get close, then wait till night." Bründir still has trouble seeing the smoke, but assumes its not too far.

I can get close while the sun is awake. I can see what the bad men are doing. Tiny man can come too. If you put sour berries in his mouth first, maybe. Dorno shrugs casually regarding Archie coming along for some scouting if he can be quiet.
“You think I can’t be quiet? I will have you know that Gnomes are reknowned all over the world for their silence and sneakyness. The only reason that you know I’m here is because I allowed it. Archibald says while getting ready for some scouting.

The smoke plume gradually grows larger as the group heads east, until as they crest one of the larger hills they've seen so far, the tops of two simple, wooden watchtowers come into view. It's hard to tell from this distance, but they're likely stood upon the same hill.
Valaith calls for the others to drop down into the grass. "That must be them. How should we approach? Will be difficult for me in these grasses, because I'm so tall."
“I am tall too... but we will have to crouch... that two towers could be a problem. “ Thurston turns to the more nature oriented ones “ Do you think we can approach from other side? “
It's a long shot but Thurston will look inside him looking for Thor guidance, and expand his senses to see if he can sense any fiend presence near.
