Bründir charges forward, firing another bolt as he moves. He's close enough to see the missile strike square in a bandit's side, but the tell-tale rose of death was absent. "Thurston! Did ye're god make ye a warrior or a wench?! Kill th'bastards!"

Valaith shrugs off yet another bolt from the other tower and a second from the bandit below atop the palisade. Archie takes cover, hiding behind the shack.
After Vark desperately runs for cover, he is shocked by his ambush, stopping just short of the bandit as their blade stabs inches from Vark’s heaving chest. He shrieks in surprise and throws a fist crackling with electricity right into the bandits face, stunning him long enough to let Vark rush past, running towards the back of the other shack still in an effort to put cover and distance between himself and his assailants.
Valaith just grins again as two more bolts merely scratch her from the near hits and the bandit in the tower draws his blade. With another vicious battle cry she shifts her grip to a wide hold on the handle of weapon near the head for greater control in the tight confines of the tower and using her hips to add greater momentum to her swing, Val slams the hammer hard into the chest of the bandit with a satisfying crunch of rib bones as the bandit collapses to the floor with a gurgle if blood welling in his throat! She then turns and quickly descends from the tower once more and rushes towards the other one!
Thurston swings his hammer again, this time bringing it around in a low blow to the dwarf's leg. It lets out a bellow of pain and slumps somewhat, clearly wounded.
Dorno's firbolg mind tells him to turn and to try to finish Thurston's target, but going against his animal instinct to just maul his original target causes him to miss. The cat circles around in his space trying to defend again all attacks, waiting for his next opportunity to let the animal take over and bite at a vulnerable area of one of the bandits.
The dwarf swings his axe back at Thurston defiantly, but he is clearly struggling and finds only armour. Dorno deftly dances out of the way of another stabbing short sword and the final combatant also fails to penetrate Thurston's defences.
The bandit Vark had shocked turns and tries to take a pot shot at Valaith, but is still twitching from the electrical pulse and his bolt is way off.
This was it. Bründir could hear the blood pounding in his ears, drowning out the yelling of enemies and allies alike. He threw his crossbow to the side and drew his trusty, weathered blade in the last 15' of his charge. The rear assault took his enemy off guard, and he landed a solid blow on the man's hip; enough to stagger him momentarily. With a hard thrust, the blade shot up and dug an awful gash across the man's face. "For the mountain halls!" He cried in triumphant defiance. This was combat: terrible, yet almost addictive.

The bandit atop the second tower takes a shot at the approaching barbarian, but Valaith neatly dodges it.
Archie slips down the side of the shack he and Vark are hiding behind, coming up behind the bandit unseen and plunges his rapier through the man's throat. He gurgles briefly and falls silently to the ground. Archie then dashes across the compound to take cover behind one of the big logs around the central firepit.
The bandit on the south palisade spots Archie and sidesteps to get an angle for a shot, but the bolt just impacts on the log Archie is behind.
Vark peeks his head around the corner just in time to witness Archie eliminate the bandit closest to them. Not wanting to risk getting within range to attack the watchmen with his magic, Vark instead decides to see what is inside this shed. Cautiously entering, Vark isn't exactly surprised to find a gruesome prison inside. For a moment he begins to investigate, wondering if he might find any trace of that elven official, but the sounds of battle outside pull him away, and he peeks his head back out to stay alert.
Dorno continues to circle in place, protecting his feline hindquarters from attacks until he sees one bandit drop and a moment of distraction from the other adjacent to him. The instincts of the beast and the hunter take over fully once again and the cougar jumps up on the man's chest, taking a large chunk of flesh away from his nose and cheek area. Blood pours from the man's face as he is mauled by the normally gentle Dorno.
This close up, Dorno can now see that his enemy is an elf, and he screams in pain as his face is torn at by the big cat. Both bandits engaged in the melee outside the gate disengage from the fight and pull back, each is wounded and bleeding.
Bründir sheathes his sword and rushes back to his crossbow, "After'em! Don' want'em to get a bit o'courage when more friends come t'play!"

With her hammer in one hand Val quickly clambers up the tower ladder, dodging the crossbow bolt fired at her from above! "Foolish mistake." She pulls herself up and quickly lashes out with the massive maul! She connects, but much of the blow is absorbed by the bandit's armor as he doubles over with the impact.
The bandits seem concerned and fail to strike Dorno and Thurston even once, although in part only thanks to Thor's blessing.
Meanwhile, inside the compound another bandit circles the shack and surprises Vark with a thrusting short sword, but he is able to dodge it.
