The bandits wield a diverse assortment of arms. Most carry a bow or a crossbow and a light melee weapon such as a short sword, or a scimitar. The dwarf outside the gates carried a battleaxe and almost all the bandits wear simple leather armour. However, there is also a wide selection of weapons stashed in the storage shed Vark found. Picking through the pockets of the fallen, Bründir finds a total of 112 silver pieces. He also notices that although the bandits are all greviously wounded, only two of them are dead. The rest, though unconscious, still cling desperately to life.
"Bind'em in th'shack ye found, Vark. At least till we're done 'ere." Bründir seems genuinely troubled by the few deaths. The captured bandits from before seemed repentant, so what if these ones would've been too?

“Uhm... I uh- o-okay.” Vark sets to the task of binding the unconconcious bandits, clearly uncomfortable the entire time. “I’m... also pretty tired. That fight took a lot out of me. Should we rest for a moment before delving in? H-hopefully Archie can stay hidden in there.”
Val joins the others at the shed and turns up her nose at the sight she sees within. "Why save them, Brundir? Did you see the inside of this place? This is awful! How could anyone who wasn't terrible be a part of this?!" She gestures at the blood-soaked walls. "It's one thing if you are trying to get information from an enemy, it's another to torture an innocent that you had just robbed." She shakes her head and turns away. "If you want to save them, that's on you. I'll not help save this disgusting vermin. They could have given up at anytime they wanted. They fought to the end. I say give them the deaths they craved."
She suddenly turns at Vark's words. "What do you mean, 'stay hidden in there'? Stay hidden in where?" She points at the tunnel. "In there?! When did he go in?"
The conflict of priorities and dying victims swirled through the dwarf's head, "Look, I don' approve of'em an' th'ones that are dead got what was comin'. I'm only sayin' we throw a patch over those worth tryin' an' keep'em locked up till we get back out."

"I- I don't know, he was... he was just here a moment ago... D-dorno you said you can smell him right? Can you track him through the tunnels?" Vark leans against the doorway of the shed, still looking quite winded.
Dorno nods his head up and down. "Yes, but I'm tired. Too much nature magic makes me sleepy. After a nap, maybe?" Dorno's eyes look heavy as he sits on the ground looking down the tunnel.
"Yeah, a nap would be... nice." as he says this, his eyes drift to the storage shed. "I'm gonna uh... I'll go check out the shed. See if there's anything... useful." Vark walks over and into the gloom of the shed. The sounds of coins shifting and boxes being moved can be heard for a minute or two before they suddenly stop, and the shed falls silent. Vark reappears about 45 minutes later with a blank expression on his face. The sorcerer is silent as he turns to stare distantly at the dark tunnel ahead.
By the time everyone has caught their breath, the wind has died down and the empty bandit camp is eerily still. The dark doors that lead into the tunnels below the hill grow more foreboding with every passing minute.
"Uhm.... y-yeah I...." his voice trails off for a moment and the distance in his eyes still remains, before he shakes the cobwebs out of his head. "There's uhm... There are some sacks of coin and gems, and a scroll, uhm... oh and a couple potions. And a ring. In... in the shed."
Val shakes her head in disbelief at Brundir, but makes no move to stop him from doing what he feels is necessary for his own beliefs. She spends the time asking Thurston to assist her in donning the new mail of steel scales she found, similar to Brundir's. She finds a well made longbow and a quiver of arrows that she takes in exchange of the heavier crossbow she used to carry. And lastly she picks up a wooden shield and throws it onto her pack, handy to have if they find themselves in a situation where they are facing a large number of missiles again... She works out of the kinks in her muscles from the numerous bolt impacts that failed to penetrate her thick skin. "I am ready. Let us go find Archie, I hope he is well."
"We could redistribute that coins and gems later " Says Thurston " I guess that we could aliviate some of the suffering that these bandits made"
He then helps Val to don her new armor.
"We should stick together " he says when she speaks of finding Archie " I think we have not ended all the threats here..." he adds looking at the gates.
Thurston does not detect any fiendish presence in the direction of the entrance into the tunnels... However, he does sense fiendish energy emanating from Vark.
Val takes her newly acquired shield in one hand and one of her handaxes in the other after she slings the leather strap attached to her hammer across her shoulders and chest. "Let keep moving. I do not like how much time they had to prepare for us..." She keeps a sharp eye out for threats and traps ahead as she begins moving into the mouth of the tunnel.
Thurston, when you get back feel free to take the lead if you want with your heavier armor.
At the rear of the bandit compound, an outcropping of large boulders emerges from the weathered face of the hill. A narrow opening in the rock, covered by a simple pair of wooden doors, leads into darkness below. The doors open without problem and beyond them the cave is dimly lit by a single torch in a bracket on the wall to the left. Just past the the entrance the tunnel forks and a dark alcove leads off to the right.
Bründir takes some time to turn over the valuables Vark found, "Coin's good an' all, but some things 'ave value aside." The pair of potions he studies for a few minutes before a few bits of floating, solid matter spark a memory, "Ah I think I know what's 'ere! We got a man in Sheercleft, calls 'imself a healer, but dabbles with potions and such. Th'Foreman goes to 'im when someone gets hurt. Got a drink from 'im once when a rock hit m'head. Looked a lot like these, an' patched me up in only a day!" He hands the two to Vark before moving on to the next item, "Better ye handle these. If we go down, get'em in us however ye can."
Opening a scroll, Bründir tries to read it over and over, even after turning the page upside-down, "Don'ave a damned clue. Never was good with letters." He passes it half-heartedly to Vark.
The ring finally catches the dwarf's eye. Turning it over and over, he finally tosses it in the air for lack of any better action, "I think I got it. Heard a man say 'is brother knew a miner who fell down a shaft, lived 'cause of a magic fam'ly ring. Guess it let 'im fall all the way an' not hit the bottom like a brick. 'Less somebody wants it, I'll jus' pocket it."
(When entering)
"This place is old, pro'bly been 'ere b'fore anybody dug in." Within the first few dozen yards, Bründir rushes up to Val's side and grabs her arm, "Watch it! They dug a nasty surprise fer us." Ahead to where he points, a pitfal can scarcely be seen before the passage continues to wind along.

"I uhm, oh ok.. sure yeah." he says as the items are stuffed into his hands. The potions in up in the outer pockets of his satchel, but he pauses as he is handed the scroll. "Oh! I think.. y-yeah this looks like a spell that would let you understand different languages. I can hold onto it." he stuff this scroll into his bag before scurrying off with the rest of the group as they enter the tunnel.
