OOC: Okay, it's been two days so I am going to assume Jasra is not going to chime in. I went ahead and posted the questions I can think of to speed up the process. Not sure how we want to RP it.
Pisgah turns to the goblin, begins to step toward them as he speaks in Primordial, drops his shield, and pulls his Greastsword, "Now, please, tell us what we need to know."
Intimidation roll of 9 on the first die, I was hoping the thing with the sword bought me advantage but the first and best roll was a 9 so....
As he reaches the goblin, Pisgah switches to Common and asks:
The Goblin, wringing his hands, finally answers your questions after giving you a sideways glance.
"Our prisoners? I suppose you mean the dwarf and human. The dwarf was delivered to king Grol. The human is held in the eating cave, yes. I do believe they are alive, yes,"
As you ask about the goblins in the cave, he raises an eyebrow. "We were the guards, and there are less then two tens of us inside our... est... estimated? ESTEEMED hideout. We habe no other traps, yes,"
The Goblin is smart enough to answer your questions, but doesn't seem too intimidated by you.
Ranbrek approaches the goblin, attempting to scare more answers out of him. "ALRIGHT YOU LITTLE MUD RU- *ack* *cough cough*" Ranbrek chokes on a bit of his saliva, and has to take a second before he can continue. "Who's this uh, King Grol ye speak of?" He is clearly a bit embarrassed of his slip up.
(OOC: The application 160 posts in is quite amusing to me)
After giving a look reminiscent of a smug cat, the Goblin answers.
"Grol, King Grol is the chief of the Cragmaws. He's in Cragmaw castle. I've never been there before, to be honest. My brother has, his name is Yegg. He's there right now, I think."
As Calen keeps a close eye on the goblin to make sure he doesn't try anything, she studies his tone of voice and expressions as he answers everyone's questions.
Insight check to see if he's lying about anything: 17+3
Pisgah will bind the goblin, using all 50 feet of a coil of rope, and will then investigate the scimitar and bows confiscated from the two guards. If any of the equipment is in good shape, Pisgah will take it.
If you think they know the location let them go and find it. However, it is in a forest and they might not see the wood for the trees. You could get them to do a hex crawl or how do they know the bugbear was telling the truth? If Sildar is with them then he could tell them this and say that he's going to Phandalin. You can always have the castle be in a totally different place than it is on the map. My players captured a goblin who led them to the castle.

INVESTIGATION roll of 9
They seem to be in good shape. The goblins have 2 scimitar. 2 sheilds, 2 shortbows, and 7 arrows.
As Pisgah searches through the goblins' belongings, Ranbrek will continue to monitor the entrance to the cave, ensuring no one is coming to check on the two watchmen.
"I could use a short rest, anyone need to take a break before we decide what to do with this guy?"
Pisgah picks up the better of the shortbows and the seven arrows. The scimitars he ties off to his backpack. He will take the bowstring from the other bow and puts it in his pack as a spare. The shields and bow he leaves sitting out.
In a lower voice, "I vote we let this guy go once we finish a rest and warn him to leave the area. We can let him take the shields and bow."
"I could use a rest. As for the smug little goblin, I agree with you. He seems pretty harmless, no need for more bloodshed." Ranbrek looks for a few solid rocks or logs for the group to sit on while they rest.
While no large rocks or fallen logs seem to be present, the wooden platform the Goblin guards were on seems pretty sturdy. Of course, there is a stump the Goblin is sitting on, but it's a bit small, and may or may not have ants on it.
Pisgah rests as well, recovering strength (rolled hit die) and regained his expended rage.
Once we are rested, and the party agrees, will untie the goblin and, handing him a shield and the bow staff, tell him to leave this area and not return.
OOC: I am really hoping Jasra has a high CHA or proficiency with Persuasion....otherwise this may not go well.

What's with the peanut gallery chiming in all of a sudden?

Calen agrees and sits down on the ground to catch her breath as well, using the moment of quiet to treat her injuries best she can (short rest).
Pisgah rests as well, recovering strength (rolled hit die) and regained his expended rage.
Once we are rested, and the party agrees, will untie the goblin and, handing him a shield and the bow staff, tell him to leave this area and not return.
Ranbrek collects the deck of cards he had been practicing with, prepared to continue on with the adventure.
(OOC: Someone not part of the party joined the campaign)
