Zig’Thul, that’s a fine name for a feline. Arden, well now, I’ve got nothing bad to say about that name, either. So Cleggor, you go with Ollie, right? Excellent. And finally there is Sniva and Sounder. Now that all sounds like a band to play in. Seems like I missed placed my critter, didn’t I. Well, hopefully that’s the only thing I don’t bring with me. Jaeajo spends a little time pronouncing each name, seeing how it feels on his tongue and in his vocal cords. He uses more syllables than necessary for a good number of words and adds a few pauses and emphasis, as if to place a rhythm in his speech. My role in the band is to let you shine and keep you in tune. That means I’m in the back of the line. Lead the way, Arden.
Sniva nods to the others as they bring about their helpers, "Nice to meet you all and you all have nice beasties. I have Sounder (My bat famliar) out ahead of us by 30ft. Good for the dark he is. He'll be maybe 10ft ahead of Arden there and Zig. Hope you don't mind if I shorten the name for it?"
OOC DM - I have fog of war on the map active. The bat blindsight is 60ft. I'll combine that with Arden's perception checks.
Unless otherwise noted, all tunnels on this level are 20 feet high, and caverns are 30 to 50 feet high. Most of the floors on this level are uneven and covered in dirt and bat guano.
Fungi. Mossy paths run between patches of stout trillimac and a forest of towering zurkhwood whose caps scrape the 40-foot-high ceiling.
Clearings. Throughout the cavern are small clearings where the fungi have been torn out of the mossy ground.
OOC DM: I will only post a map when it provides new information worth adding. I don't want to spend too much time just posting maps if there is no real benefit.
Sniva comments softly, "Sounder sees footprints ahead leading westward. He can't see back there yet. A creature may be aware of those of us rattling around."

Ooc - Arden will be ahead of the group on top of Zig'Thul and using the map of this level to guide them. He makes any stops whenever someone wants to collect stuff or make checks. He'll prioritize staying alert of any traps or monsters. He'll head westward first just to make sure a monster won't start chasing them later on.
At Jaeajo, Arden flashed a confident grin.“Aye, I’m lookin’ forward tae hearin’ some o’ yer tunes then. Just don’t go wanderin’ off without me, no matter what.”
He waved a hand at Sniva’s question, clearly unbothered by the nickname.“Shorten the name if ye like. Don’t bother me none. Good tae meet Sounder.”
When Sniva pointed out the footprints and the chance of something hunting them, Arden halted, nodding once.“That’s on me. Ain’t much chance o’ sneakin’ with all this armor clankin’ about. But that just means I can catch their attention better.”
He patted Zig’Thul’s side.“Ain’t that right, Zig’Thul?”The felidar answered with a low, rumblin’ sound, close to a purr.
As the group makes their way from the entry around the bend of the cavern it opens up into some larger areas. You can spot now what Sounder saw as footprints in the soft cavern floor that seem to have multiple paths uses by something.OOCDM: Black dots on map are footprints.

The Ettin hearing the group as they entered the cavern slowly moved between two rock mounds. It advanced into the cavern move between to rocks and walks right into Arden and his mount Zig. The Ettin attacks right away.
Despite seeing the footprints, Cleggor is a little surprised when the Ettin emerges, he moves 5 feet south to get a line of sight on the beast and sends a glowing mote of energy at the thing this first round. “What the.. you’re an ugly bastard, aren’t ya!”

The Ettin lowers their weapons and tensions slowly ease with them.
"Me think you try to come steal stuff from Jabber," says Jibber. "Yeah, if you give Jibber something kind of nice, we can offer some information and some goodies maybe. We let you go on by us too. We know about stuff we can share if you have goodies for us", says Jabber.
"Come with us back to our good spot so we talk trade and stuff". Jibber and Jabber lead you back to a bigger opening where they have things to offer the group.
Sniva sends sounder ahead just to take a peek and doesn't notice anything obvious and nods to the others indicating such with a wink.
