Name: Bethany the Bold Species: Human Class: Fighter Backstory: Bethany grew up working for her father at her family's inn. Her mother died in childbirth with her, leaving her the last of a few siblings. She was always big and strong for her age and liked reading and playing out tales of brave knights and warriors. Her father tried very hard to squeeze her into her role as a cook for the business but when she was old enough, she fled that life. She hooked up with a mercenary band who promised to train her as a warrior. When they discovered her cooking skills, she became camp cook. Her only solace was one of the veterans, a dwarf named Jarroz, trained her on the side, when he could, and she developed into a promising warrior, breaking away from the mercenary group after a successful job, and setting out on her own.
Race: Tiefling (Chthonic - possess the unearthly beauty of a succubus)
Class: Barbarian (Path of the Wild Heart at 3rd level)
Backstory: Radned was an adventurer who discovered a portal to Gehenna. After entering he realized too late his folly, for he was set upon by evil fiends. Fighting savagely to survive drew the interest of a succubus, Sycorax, who out of boredom decided to rescue him. Radned thanked her and explained what had happened to trap him here, fearing he would never get to see his beloved, Naomi, ever again. Sycorax was intrigued by a love so strong and offered him a deal, if he agreed to serve as her consort for a month she would return him to the mortal plane. During that month Sycorax quickly fell in love with Radned and hoped he would be hers forever despite his constant stories about his former life with Naomi. Sadly when the month was up and he still wanted to return to his love Naomi, this served to anger Sycorax and she refused to honor her deal. Rahned spurned her and made many attempts to escape which only served to anger Sycorax more and finally out of jealous spite she murdered him.
Over the next couple of months she became melancholy and sad, realizing too late her mistake as her love for Ragned haunted her and she wished for some way to honor him. As it turned out this wish was granted in an odd sort of way as Sycorax discovered she was pregnant with Ragned's child. This caused her some turmoil as she herself never wanted a child but her love for Ragned could not be denied and within the year she gave birth to Feral. Still not wanting the child but unwilling to abandon it to the fates she struck upon an idea to finally honor Ragned. She visited the mortal plane and searched out Naomi based off the stories Ragned had shared with her. In the dead of night she crept into Naomi's abode and left Feral at the foot of her bed with a note before returning to Gehenna. The note explained that the child's name was Feral and she was a product of Ragned's undying love for Naomi.
Naomi never had a child of her own but always wanted one so decided to raise Feral as her own. Feral exhibited a quick temper as a child but otherwise had a happy and loving childhood. Shortly after reaching adulthood Feral grew restless and wanted to set off on adventures in the wide lands of the frigid North. During one of these adventures she rescued a young barbarian, Bearclaw, who turned out to be the son of the chief. Bearclaw brought her back to his tribe and they were so grateful they offered her an honorary place in their tribe. She spent three years with the tribe and in that time learned much of their ways but her quick temper often ended in fights with many of the tribal warriors, and injuries for them. Seeing that she could not stay with the tribe without continuing to weaken it she bid them thanks and farewell before setting off again. This time her journey was brief as her loneliness from no longer having a tribe overtook her. She resolved that having some close companions and new friends would help with her quick temper and loneliness so she made her way to the nearest city, the city of splendors, Waterdeep.
"A rightful place awaits you in the Realms Above, in the Land of the Great Light. Come in peace, and live beneath the sun again, where trees and flowers grow."

"Run thy sword across my chains, Silver Lady, that I may join your dance.”
Backstory: Sometimes you lose your parents and come out mean. Sometimes you find your religion and come out keen (for justice). Sometimes you find your calling in an esoteric order of mysticism that develops your capability for the channeling of vital quasi-magical internal reserves and cultivate them for a chance to test your mettle against the world and see who comes out on top, you or it. (Admittedly that last one is a little less common).
For Dun, it was all three. After some time living a harder life, he found a home with the monks of his order while he was still young enough to be trained in their ways. Usually, the order finds, their teaching quiet passions and still old grievances — for Dun they only scarred. Understanding his potential, but recognising that the sequestering of the temple was not for Dun, his master has sent him to Waterdeep — the home of some of the most vainglorious and punch-happy citizens his master ever had the pleasure of meeting, in hope of tempering his pupil, and allowing him to find his own way forward.
Backstory: "I don't know if I'm ready Dad. I'm not smart like you and I didn't go to school like you." "Don't worry boy, you'll be fine. Here, take my old scarf, it'll give you luck." "Aw Dad, it's like your good luck thing!" "Nonono, you're the one going out into the wild beyond. You need all the luck you can get it. Now the warren will be fine until you get back. Remember your forestry lessons, yes?" "Sure Dad." With that Dantos left home in search of adventure.
Backstory: Spending his life studying under some of the great mages in Waterdeep, Lawrence has decided his only real chance at true power is to do what they did: Delve into the depths of old ruins and claim powerful magical treasures.
Backstory: Damay has been tasked with assisting on a detailed history of the great Halaster and his research partners volunteered him to do the field research. He plans to enter the portal to have first hand experience in the results of Halaster's accomplishments.
Thank you very much, I'm really happy to have been selected! Looks like it could be a challenge with such a small and squishy party, but that's just what I signed up for! Looking forward to planning and strategizing with the other two players; I'll likely focus on healing magic since that's going to be a definite must, and will likely multi-class fairly early on into Monk for Warrior of Mercy since that pairs well with Minotaur horns, gives some extra healing abilities and hit points, and means I can designate the spell slots for healing only, using unarmed strikes for damage!
Thanks for letting us know. Could you join the post from recruiting to closed and private? This will keep people from posting new characters hoping to get in.
Kudos to those who won the spin! Great adventures await!

I like the sound of a hardcore Undermountain, and I’ve also heard that the 2024 monk can cook, with how it’s been upgraded. So:
Hey DM, do you know how many days you plan to leave this open before making a decision? Thanks.
Will close in 2 days, to give some time. Will add that the new class, gunslinger will be accepted as well.
And to show what the current process will be, it shall be random and based off this.
Cool - what program is that? It looks like the colors represent functions, like tank, healer, support, etc...
Love God. Love Others. Any Questions?
I think it is just green, salad, orange, yellow in order

There are several of my favorite people on that spinner.
