Dain looks towards his brethren in arms, “Remember that we are going to avenge the dead and ensure these abominations can’t hurt anyone else. Each swing of your axe or sword will protect the innocents you have sworn to defend. Let’s go take back what is ours!”

I warn the party about the strength draining capabilities of shadows. The fact that they can turn the strongest man into sad puddles of flesh unable to hold up their own weight if they hit you. I warn them to keep them at a distance as much as possible and only get within melee range of necessary and able to finish the kill.
With spectres it's actually even worse. They're resistant to most is normal beings can throw at them and drain the life from us. Also keep your distance and maybe even flee if necessary.
Let's hope it's a bright and shiny day today.
After the motivational speech I get up, grin a dark grin and prepare for battle.
"Let's free this brewery from undead!"

Dain’s words of encouragement have the unit looking reassured then Aldun words of warning have everyone switching pikes for crossbows and watching the shadows again…
The party crosses the ford heading towards the brewery in town…
how would you like to approach the brewery altogether stealthy direct or Andre first?
Andre first but at the first sign of a shadow or specter I recall him. I'm in the back of the group tiptoeing. Since I'm only able to see through Andre's eyes while he's within 100ft we need to follow him stealthily.

Dain fires his longbow keeping distance as Aldun informed. He then follows Aldun towards the outside ushering the guards to follow, hoping the sunlight works to their advantage.
(Nat 20 - 12 dmg.) (ignore the middle damage roll on ddb was meant to roll 2 crit attacks for savage attacker)
Aldun casts another mind sliver on the closest shadow (int save dc 13 - 4 psychic dmg) and runs for the door keeping it open so any sunlight might catch the shadows and his group can get out easier

Dain’s arrow follows the bolt ripping through shadow just as Aldun’s psychic assault hits… a shriek sounds cold as ice the shadow sinks to the deck…
The acolyte strides forward holy symbol in hand a white flame descends upon the shadow burning its outline into the wood planks…
The second shadow engulfs the acolyte. As his body hits the deck boards it looks as though he is frozen in horror.
Fearing we will loose the acolyte Aldun does two things:
I cast another mind sliver on the last shadow. This time with more need to damage the shadoiw than before (int dc 13 - 6dmg) and when I see the shadow attack bright green and yellow sparkles fly from my fingers dazzling the shadow for a bit (reaction: silvery barbs causing disadv. on its roll). Due to the distraction the acolyte one of the guards sees an opening in which to strike more favourable (adv on roll).
Then I back up 10 ft making a mental note of all details regarding the attack, the moving and the dissolving of the shadow to write down later.

Aldun rattles the shadow with magically bright wit. The guards scatter off the deck trembling hands loading bolts onto crossbows. The acolyte looks scared to death. Dain’s turn.
Aldun casts yet another mind sliver hoping this does end the foul creature but his spell misses power (dc 13 - 1 dmg).
Aldun curses some terrible curses, mumbling to Dain: "undead aren't really my thing I think. I'm trying but without much success buddy. It's up to you. Sorry."
Scarred anxious they may not have gotten a restful nights sleep, and seem jumpy at every tree branch shadow moving on the ground.

Andre enters the front doors scampers into the room, immediately Aldun sees two large shadows loosen from the walls…
turn order is Aldun Acolyte Andre, Shadows, Dain and guards. Aldun your up.

First I recall André, afraid of him getting hurt. Then I take two steps to the door, just enough to look into the room and see the shadow in the northeastern corner. I cast a mind sliver on it (int save DC 13 for 1 psychic dmg). Then I dart back as far as possible telling the others to take the fight outside into the sun

The acolyte grabs at a holy symbol around his neck chanting a blessing on the lead guard near the door.
The shadows silent as silk, come flitting across the room the closer of the two try’s to envelope the guard near the door but fails to connect…

Dain turns, dropping the bow (free action) and pulling out his axe.
Charging the last shadow hoping to end it quickly and rally the troops once more.
(20 to hit for 11 dmg — rage and reckless)
The axe blade passes through as if through air but any inky blackness gushes out of the dark
the shadow stretches to wrap Dain in its tendrils… but its quavering attack misses.
