Looks good. Yeah sure, but you might not need the passive perception.
Yeah but I feel like it's just a cool little thing about my character to have. He can also notice changes in the body so he can tell if someone's hiding something in a sleeve or notice someone reaching into their pocket.
The ashsense perk is essentially souped up blindsight that can be manuevered to slip into other rooms to overhear things.

If I’m being annoying, tell me to shut up. Seriously. Just say “Bananer shut up.” And I will. For a few seconds!
Don’t listen to the folks down at Adohands. It’s good for me to overwork myself.
Professional idiot! Trans! Pansexual pancake! I am a minor so you will do none of that (GP) with me!
Hmm, I forgot to pick a magic item, so that's a possibility. Though Artificers can infuse a couple of items to that level, so it would be better to pick something he couldn't make for himself.
My magic item is a ring of jumping so that I can essentially maneuver all around to avoid enemies while crippling or neutralizing(nonlethal) the threat. Also side question: if there's an artificer could they make a type of bullet that doesn't pierce flesh but instead has niche properties like upon impact shocking the enemy or knocking them back or splitting into dust to blind an enemy?

for a normal item a grappling hook costs 2 GP. It doesn't retract, but I can make a rope between 2 ships

Owen is here. enjoy my favorite game. I like DND. PM ME THE WORD TOMATO.
Backstory: in a world where pirates scour the seas and dangerous beast lurk below it's depths it is the kingdoms of the Tritons that must learn to tread the dangers of both. With few allies amongst the countries of the sea and none from the sky they have spent years primarily isolated and defending their slowly withering territory from ever growing threats.
Nyleke was a born warrior practically from birth. He was a hefty child and in his youth he showed strength and might far superior to other kids his age. It was no surprise that he would be recruited into the guard and taught the ways of the warrior.
Triton training was harsh and intensive, and it started from the ripe age of 15 which was considered maturity to their people. Despite every attempt to quell Nyleke's bravado and mold him into a soldier he never lost his flare
Triton warriors were not merely trained as a fighter though, and despite his disobedience his skill as a fighter could not be ignored. Nyleke was taught the ancient magics of his peoples army before being cast out to fight enemies for his people.
Nyleke spent a good few years being hardened by the world and it's foes. With his platoon he faced fierce turtle dragons and massive sharks. The enemy who defeated him seemed underwhelming in comparison. It was a pirate, who had called him out in single combat. While his platoon managed to win the battle, Nyleke's pride was shattered. The pirates fled, and Nyleke could not help but dwell on the lost he suffered. It stayed with him so much that he abandoned his post to search for the woman who had beaten him.
The world outside his kingdom proved hard for him to understand. He struggled at first, never having worked hard in his life. He felt true hunger for the first time, and he felt alone. It bothered him to no longer be the center of attention for once. Eventually a pirate crew picked him up, seeing a down on his luck warrior and they weren't disappointed. Nyleke traveled with them for years before he found that same pirate crew he lost to once before. Again he was singled out by this strange woman and again she felled him, this time adding insult to injury by sparing him while her crew destroyed his own.
Now, after Nyleke has drank his money away and is alone once more, he is eager to join this newest crew he has heard about. He offers his skills as a warrior to them with glee, and secretly hopes to find the stranger who had bested him in the past to pay her back.

I took a +1 pistol as my uncommon magic item so I don’t know why you couldn’t

*Hey Bananer, glad to see you didn't leave the site completely. Just on for one minute, have a good one.*
Thanks I hope there's an artificer on our team because the shenanigans I have planned are gonna be fun.

What about how well we fit one of the empty positions aboard the ship?
I might just fill the ones that don’t get filled with NPCs.
