A classic D&D adventure using the simple original first edition rules of D&D from it's creation as played around 1980. The game is played within Discord using the Old School Essentials ( OSE ) interpretation of the BECMI basic D&D rules. A copy of the rules will be available to all players along with extensive world info, character sheets, maps and quick reference sheets. The whole game will be in Discord as play by post episodes - either in real time or asynchronously. The graphics and master maps are set up in Owlbear but will be posted into Discord.
The game will start as a fun adventure with wilderness , towns, investigation, roleplaying, meeting NPCs. Then it will be a classic dungeon crawl with mix of combat, puzzles, traps, hazards, monsters, treasure and excitement. Level one characters are very fragile in Basic so will start with maximum possible hit points for their class / race.
Snake Temple Ruin is an adventure for five or more first level characters set in the Western Wilds - a rugged region to the west of the Kingdom of Albion. Snake Temple Ruin is set around the small trade route town of Penderham above a wilderness of moors and hills called Tanis Mor.
The Western Wilds are on the western border of Albion. With mountains and forests to the north the trade routes can pass over the moors via the Penderham Plains. Fortified towns with garrisons protect the two main routes which are called the Kalikut Trail and the Penriver Way.
Our intrepid adventurers are travelling back together from their first journey to the far western city of Kalicut. They left their base in Osterburg four moons ago escorting a trade caravan shipping wool to the west. The journey had been disappointingly uneventful and after they had explored the new land and frittered away their paltry wages the party headed back along the main trade route hoping to find elusive adventure before reaching the homelands again.
Oh, I loves me a whole heaping helping of OSR. I grew up on the cartoon and BECMI way back in the day, so this one hits all the right feels. Definitely interested!
Three interested already that is an encouraging start ! I also played BECMI back in the day and wrote my own dungeons for my friends to play in. I am in the UK so a weekly real time game may be in GMT timezone although I am quite flexible. If we play asynchronously then it doesnt matter. I will wait for more recruits.
Hi for those interested here's an Invite to the server https://discord.gg/g3Bxm7Bn I am keeping the invitation open another week. If more than seven people join the server we will find a way to reduce the party size to seven - probably on a first come come first serve basis.

I tried to go to the server, but I get an error that the invite is invalid or expired?

You can count me interested as well, particularly if it’s played asynchronously.

I'm interested. Be nice to get back to the oldies.
Doing a lot of research, but have yet to play. If you don't mind a complete new player to DnD, I'd love to give it a go.
