She could feel the vibration of his boots in the sand even from where she stood, her breath catching as his halberd swung in a deadly arc. “Alright, big heart,” she murmured, slipping back a few steps to keep distance between herself and the cloaked figures. “Let’s give you a little starlight to swing by.” She drew her bow across the strings in a swift, upward motion, the sound bright and sharp, like the first note of a battle hymn. Blue-white sparks flared from the fiddle’s body, swirling into a faint constellation above her hand. With a flick of her wrist, the starlight coalesced into a spinning mote that streaked toward the foe Orrin faced, aiming to strike the figure’s chest with a crack of radiant light. The song continued as her fingers shifted, weaving a few lighter notes that danced through the air around Orrin, settling into a rhythm that pulsed with resolve. “You’ve got this, Orrin!” she called over the clash of blades, her voice carrying the weight of command and confidence both.“Make it count! The tune shimmered in the air between them, part melody, part magic, a thread of inspiration tying her courage to his strength as she steadied her stance, ready to play again the moment he needed her.
