Montar turns to Tam, "Perhaps I missed somethin', lassie, but I was under the impression that the slumpin' figure we saw was the special prisoner. Do ye nae think so? That's why I'm holdin' this half-elf ta exchange. Why else would he not be being put ta work with the rest?"
To the two stinky boys, Montar says, "Make yer way toward the camp entrance. Look like ye belong."
“Do you think? That would be incredible!” Tam considers how they could do a switcheroo with the bodies.
The half elf keeps up his scowl and disgruntled mutterings until the dwarf is safely behind. In a soft voice he says, "Please forgive me. Our situation seemed most pressing and I have been around enough men such as these to know how to fit in." His tight lipped, half-smile betrayed the calmness of his voice. "Let's find the others. Should we survive this, I shall offer you a proper apology my friend."
Draylin then heads off in the direction Montar and Tam went. He hopes to reunite the group and proceed. He had a sinking feeling in his stomach when he thought of the "special prisoner". He couldn't really define or explain it, just a gnawing sense of urgency.

"Not sure how exactly, but if we're worried about their missing regular prisoners, they'd likely miss a special one. 'N we need some time to get to Greenest ta warn 'em. I got a real good look at the one chained up outside, 'n I think he and she are shaped kind of similar." Montar shrugs again. "Least we got a lead on our gear. I feel naked without me weapons 'n armor. Made those when I was just a wee lad."
One raiders with a dragon masks approaches and hands over a coin pouch to one of the commoners. Amadeus gets the very distinct impression that the people handling the game don't belong here, they appear to be simple hunters hired to provide meat. By their hasty movements, stiff postures and stolen glances around, it is clear they can't wait to be gone. They chop up the first carcass in record time and begin butchering the second antelope as the noble studies them.
"You mean one of those black uns?" the halfling inclines her head towards the dragon-masked raider. "Tell you the truth, they scare me too. They think they're the big deal 'round here, yet when they see the Purple Lady they fill their breeches." When asked about a proper weapon, her bushy eyebrows shoot up. "Yee, you're new here indeed. Whatever even brought you here? You better go and get yourself something nicer, before someone sees you going round with empty hands. They yell a lot here... Ye see the tent with the torn banner?" she turns to point at one of the tents you see in the distance with a flopping piece of cloth in the wind that looks more like a random rag tied to a pole than an actual banner. "That's where they keep them. Who knows, maybe you'll find something still sharp enough."
The stinky boys freed by Tam and Montar bolt and disappear between the tents, clearly not savvy enough to know how to look like they belong but oh well, children...
Montar looks around to see if there are any more prisoners working at this end of the camp. If not, he recommends moving back toward the entrance, passing by the half-elf prisoner chained up outside to see how well-guarded he is.
Montar and Tam can safely make it to the loot tent and regroup with Thistlewick and Draylin. As they walk by, they notice there is only one guard with the prisoner, but there is a clear field of vision to the grand tent and the giant cave which are around 100 feet from where the chained half-elf is.
When the spilt group rejoins Draylin asks, "Does anyone know where we are, or about how far we may be from a town or settlement?" If Montar still carries a limp body he motions to the supply tent. "One less is good, but she will draw questions we dont want to answer. We can stash her under the clothes."
Draylin looks at the wide open lane to the big tent and cave entrance. He shakes his head softly no and looks at the team with saddness in his eyes. "We need to find the monk. Freeing all of the prisoners may prove our undoing, too many eyes, and we can't get lucky forever. Thistlewick and I had a close call already. Let's search the closest tents, grab a few weapons if we can and run. If we find a nearby town or village we raise the alarm. We can return with help, but we help no one if we die here."

"Ack. Good on ya, love. I think ye might 'ave saved me hide."Gods, this is fun. If only the situation weren't so dire, the young Lord would probably be a laughing fit right about now. Still, he keeps his composure long enough to give a simple farewell. "I t'ink I'd best be off. Gotta get me a good un to swing afore the attack. Good luck to ye... oh, I saw a barrel o' good rum by the fires near the front. If'n ye go now, ye might get a pint with yer meat." With that, the gnome gives a haphazard wave and begins off towards the supposed weapons tent. The commoners have some possibilities in aiding escape, but he knows better than to put all his eggs in the same basket. Maybe he can find more amongst the many weapons these cads had claimed...
Montar shakes his head negatively at Draylin, whispering, "Nay, Draylin. If the monk is the poor sod chained in front o' the big tent, then if we're goin' ta rescue 'im, we're goin' ta need both a distraction 'n a replacement. This here be the replacement. Any ideas 'bout a distraction?"
The half elf turned slightly to get a good look at the poor sod in question.

As he looks at the prisoner Montar points out he said, "The kobolds seemed gullible and quick to run with Tam's earlier ruse. Perhaps we can spread the word among them that the big bosses in the big tent have a special reward, but only for the first ten kobolds that get inside. As they all charge for the tent we can see about the one on the chain, spark up the guard tower by the entrance, grab our weapons, then run. The chaos should help us meet with little resistance. A few blazing tents to cover our retreat with smoke and even more chaos probably wouldn't hurt either."

“Tell them the wyrmspeaker also wants to hear their battle cries as they run to the tent, so they should make their biggest noise. I think this could work,” Tam said.
The halfling waves a short goodbye and disappears in the opposite direction. Amadeus reaches the supposed weapon tent, with raiders of different species coming in and out of it. Nearby, there is a crowd of kobolds fighting over an antelope's leg. A raider sits on a tree stump in front of the tent, watching over the dispute with a snarl. He spares one glance at Amadeus before switching his attention back to the kobolds.
Draylin sees one guard on his own where Montar pointed at and a figure slumped against the rocks but he is too far away to make out the face. (As I understand your posts, you are still next to the loot tent?)
A couple of robed figures headed for the camp entrance walk by your small group. When they see Montar, they stop. "What's that you are carrying?" one of them asks.
"And here I thought you were bringing breakfast for the hatchlings," the second robed figure muses, then they walk away.
The raider guarding the chained man faces the main path. There are some rocks around that area of various sizes and some brush. The distance between the guard and the chained man is currently ten feet with the guard having his back to the chained man.

[is it possible to get a little map for this? wondering if there is a possibiity of sneaking around the man but also wondering how visible this whole area is. If we can cause a distraction and do a switcheroo, that would be better than killing this guard.]
"Hmmmm..." the monk muses softly as the robed people leave. "What if we send someone to relieve the guard, and send them to the enterance where the meat is to get rid of them. When he leaves Montar and I can swap the prisoner. Tam may I borrow your lock picks for this task? While we do this, Tam and Thistlewick can set the kobolds to task to storm the grand tent. We meet at the weapons tent, grab the rest of our gear, spark up the guard tower and run like a dragon is chasing us. Maybe burn a tent or two near the entrance also, the smoke will help cover our retreat. With a little luck we will run into the young Lord on the way out."
