I'm new to DnD, and I'm super interested in absorbing more of the lore, especially around the species, classes, and planes. Is there a recommended fiction book that illustrates most of the concepts covered in the dm handbook, like the material plane, feywild, shadowfell, elemental planes, and outer planes? And introduces you to most of the core classes and species? Or am I going to have to get that from multiple books? https://xender.vip/
I am a player from way back. IF you can find the books.... check out Ed Greewood's series with Elminster. Very much takes you into that world and shows what can happen.

The best D&D book titles showcasing its worlds often blend classic fantasy with unique twists, like the iconic Forgotten Realms setting (seen in Sword Coast Adventurer's Guide, Waterdeep: Dragon Heist), high-tech fantasy (Eberron: Rising from the Last War), horror (Van Richten's Guide to Ravenloft), or space opera (Spelljammer). For novel-style adventures, look to books like The Crystal Shard for classic quests or Elfshadow for deeper lore on specific races, capturing the essence of dungeon crawling, epic quests, or character-driven stories.
