Silverlining knows virtually nothing of mummies. While he is aware of undead, a mummy probably isn’t something he’s familiar with. As such, still in a defensive posture, taking the dodge action, the Dragonborn enters the room cautiously, keeping the sarcophagus between him and the undead.
Round 1: “We are looking for a key to open the door in the main chamber, if you can help us, we can let you return to your eternal rest.”
@Vespera knows (with the 15 check) that mummies are not very fast, not likely to talk and is reminded that the undead here are not normal but with additional shroud particles. You also know that if they touch you even once, its bad mojo. You are not sure exactly why.
Vespera calls out in warning, "That's not going to talk, and don't let it touch you!" She then lifts her bow and fires an arrow at the shambling mummy.
Attack: 25 (crit) for 7 piercing damage and 9 sneak attack damage if she had advantage on this strike.
Manny feeling the adrenaline of prepping for a fight combined with the fear of what is behind the door, is on a hair trigger. Manny is focusing on the interior as well as keeping his peripheral vision on the bow. As soon as that arrow is released Many unleashes his EB and the force damage is 13
@Vespera, your arrow hits true, but you realize it was a very good shot, but instead of the arrow firmly sticking into the mummy, it falls off. You become aware that this thing is resistant to piercing damage. (half the dmg noted)
@Manny, your blast also lands true and makes a small rip in the mummy. (damage noted)
Since the mummy is faster than Silverlining, if he attacks this round, he wouldn’t have the dodge. So he will be sticking with the dodge and see about attacking next round.
The mummy has definitely noticed you three. It begins to move around the sarcophagus. (will continue on initiative 13)
OOC- Does that mean we have a round of actions and start with Vespra and then me again?
OOC - I cast Armor of Agthy before the door shut and Silver blew Cold. My spell lasts an hour, do I still have it active or has it been longer than 1 hour?
OOC - How long does my False Vigor (Temp HP) last assuming no HPs is lost via combat?
If you checked the whole crypt first and made sure there are no traps and then went to this door, it has been more than an hour. If you on the other hand went door by door and this happens to be the 1st one, then it is less than an hour. Your call really, since I gave you the whole crypt.
As far as I know, Fiendish Vigor is an invocation that you can cast at will.
You just took your free turn, you and Vespera attacked, Silver prepared an action.
Vespera moved away from the door for a moment as she nocked another arrow , then came into view again to send another arrow to bounce off the mummy. "I can't get a solid hit on this thing!" she called out to her teammates. She realized that she needed a different kind of damage, but all of her weapons were piercing weapons. There was the Chill Touch spell just from being a Tiefling, but she didn't think necrotic damage would fare any better, and she had a bad feeling about touching that thing...
Move action: get out of and back into sight Bonus action: Hide: Stealth 21 Action: Attack with advantage (from hiding), with sneak attack: Attack 22 (14 if no advantage), damage 6 piercing + 4 sneak attack (if hide worked)
If you step more than 10 ft away, you will lose sight of the mummy , all with Silver there atm and the sarcophagus. If you are 10 ft out of the door, I can apply the attack and dmg.
The idea is to get out of sight of the mummy for a moment so as to be able to get the surprise attack (advantage and sneak attack). So step away and then back near the door.
But DM's differ as to what it takes for a rogue to get advantage on their target. So if that doesn't work, just shoot while standing still. Which is why listed the non-advantaged attack roll.
It is ok to step away and back, I just want to know your final location and am letting you know that if it is more than 10 ft beyond the door, you do not have line of sight to attack.
Advantage is ok and so is the sneak-attack. The damage has been noted, reduced because of resistance.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
The mummy seems to get very pissed at this blast (damage has been applied) and starts straight towards you (Manny) It goes past Silver as if Silver were furniture. (Silver, you have an attack of opportunity and then you have your initiative count)
@Manny, the mummy is staring at you and its glare seems to turn your bones to jelly. (roll a WIS save for the stare)
It also swings a slap / punch at you.
Mummy fist: to hit --> 18 and pain --> 10 plus 11 , (and you make a CON save).
edit: the first blue damage is bludg, the green is necrotic (you have resistance to necrotic dmg)
Armor of Agathys spell I figured could be active for a round or two. Manny taking 22 points will have ended the spell, but the mummy should take 5 cold damage.
Cold dmg noted for the mummy. You take 10 (bludg) +6 (half of the 12 necrotic dmg) minus 5 (temp HPs). So minus 11 HP total.
You realize the gaze of the mummy almost got you to stand stock still, but you quickly shake it off. (you know the mummy has some kind of gaze attack and you might want not to look at it directly from now on) (in game terms, if the mummy is targeting you, you will either roll saves for the gaze, or you will attack with a disadvantage, or it will attack with advantage. Your choice depending if you want to make sure to defend properly or make sure to bring it down quicker)

Manny when he has a clear view, shoots a second EB at the mummy, rolling in the game log a 19 to hit, with force damage of 13.

Silverlining Atrack of Opportunity: To Hit 21, Damage 6 bludgeoning.
Action attack To Hit 9.
Bonus Action attack To Hit 6
no damage rolled as I’m sure those missed. Silver lining move no further to see if the mummy opens itself to another Attack of Opportunity.
