Vespera Glint has a criminal background. Things were getting too hot in the city she was in, too many close calls with the increased guards,, so she was riding the airship to a new target city.
(the claw is just going to keep squeezing until its removed. I will post several DCs, for the next rounds. Each round its DC is not passed, it will cause 1 subdual dmg but also, because it tripped Vespera and she fell failing her check, she got her breath knocked out of her. If after 14 rounds you have not removed the claw, she will die of suffocation.

Specifically, it replaces the "&dl=0" with "&raw=1", that specifies the image alone, in a form that can be imbedded.
Hmm, I thought the images had to be in a public folder for others to see, but it appears that Dropbox no longer has a dedicated public folder. My Public folder still seems to be working. But you may need extra steps now. I tried looking at what's required to share now, and I don't know why my links are still working 😕
The hand just keeps squeezing, until removed or chopped or anything really. It has 4 HPs and is not really that dangerous. If it gets pried off and then attacked, it was AC 12 and just runs around until killed.
"With a strained grunt, you wedge your fingers beneath the pale, twitching digits and pry the claw loose, flinging the skittering horror across the sand. It immediately scuttles away like a bloated spider, leading you on a frantic, low-to-the-ground chase as you swing your weapon wildly at the shadows."
or
"Desperate for air, you drive your dagger deep into the back of the pale, leathery hand, the blade sinking into cold flesh even as the fingers tighten their chokehold in a final, spasmodic surge. You can feel the unnatural strength beginning to fail as the claw twitches violently around the hilt, its "grip" turning from a deadly squeeze into a feeble, dying shiver."
Yup, AI should be forbidden, but it says it better than i ever could.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Grabbing a dagger from her waist, Vespera desperately tries to stab the hand grasping her neck, with no prompting needed from the Harknail voice in her head.
You dispatch the nasty hand quickly. You note two individuals approaching you quickly, weapons at the ready. *Have they seen any more* - you think, slightly panicked.
You get on your feet again. (approaching other characters, do your thing)
(I will stop prompting now, let me know what next :) Also, neither of you knows how to identify the characters the MEPs took over, compared to the survivors that are on the beach around you )
Btw, does any of you have experience with foundryvtt ? I bought a license but it seems terribly convoluted.
A Friend who DM's uses Foundry. It works for him. There are plenty of aspects I don't like about it though. It is pretty good for games other than DND I will say.

Likewise, I'm in a game where the DM is using forge/foundry for a play by post game, for PF2. We had to remake our characters in forge.
Another option is Roll20 free version. I've seen this used before, and it has some advantages over other VTTs for PBP games. First the current web page is always available, even when the DM is offline. Second, you can use Beyond20 extension for chrome or firefox to connect your DNDBeyond content to Roll20. This allows you to roll dice on your character sheets, and the dice rolls show up in the roll20 log. The DM can roll for monsters from the monster sheets. This includes rolling for initiative (select token, then roll on sheet). And the HP on a character sheet can be echoed to that characters token. I'm using this in my real time D&D game, where some characters on in Roll20, and some are in DNDBeyond.
There are better VTTs for DND 5e, but they require that the DM be online, not suited for PBP.

Somehow MEP 1-HARKNAIL knows that the approaching dragonborn is MEP-RU, and that the approaching gnome is MEP-2. It also somehow knew that they could not identify it. It had no idea how it knew this information. Perhaps it was something how it saw itself coughing up water on shore before it reached shore.
In any case, MEP 1-HARKNAIL thought it best to identify itself. In a somewhat robotic sounding voice it said, "I am MEP 1-HARKNAIL. I am sharing this body with Vespera Glint."
Continuing with a normal feminine voice, "Do you guys have something like Harknail inside of you?"
Continuing with a feminine voice, Vespera asked, "Emmypeetwo? Are you something like Harknail? I think he said he was an Emmypee something. Who else are you?"
{I'm assuming MEP is being spelled out, and that Vespera is trying to hear it as a name. When I read the novel for the first Star Wars movie, releassed before the movie, the robot names were spelled out phonetically. It wasn't till I saw the movie that I realized that the robots names were letters and digits. Also Vespera doesn't know about the various options for MEPs to take over bodies, so she is incorrectly assuming that the others are like her. }

I cant share kohlmetz_d's background because he posted it by PM.

Sorry, just noticed this message.
When you copy a link you get something like this: https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/l9tfqzezq3ny08hpi32f8/Vesper-Glint.png?rlkey=xjx5d7xvyzie6obqgw4y4dvx9&dl=0
Specifically, the link ends with "&dl=0", this a link to a web page that displays information and contains the picture.
My macro edits the link to this: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/scl/fi/l9tfqzezq3ny08hpi32f8/Vesper-Glint.png?rlkey=xjx5d7xvyzie6obqgw4y4dvx9&raw=1

Can Vespera try stabbing the part of the hand that's not tight on her neck? Or otherwise attack the hand with one of her daggers?
Normally, being grappled allows you to attack the one grappling you with no penalty.
I found a workaround in imgur and was able to post the images. :) My problem is very few are allowed per day with free versions of AI :(
Roll STR by the way if you want to live more than 14 rounds :P
Go for the stab :) I am not terribly attached to the hand. *pun

Attack: 10 Damage: 7
Rolling in game log: Attack 21 for 7 piercing damage (max damage! 😀)
