As the undead shamble along, you rush them. There wasn't really plan behind it this time. You had noticed them, they had not noticed you. Each of you takes on one of them for starters.
Vespera goes in quick, *stab - stab* and out. (didnt see initiative ,) ) The zombie moans, turns, swings and is too slow. Vespera goes in again, with the "big guns" this time (short sword). The zombies loses some more bits of flesh. It will soon start looking like a carved skeleton. It does not look in pain or bothered at all. And unfortunately for Vespera one of its weird semi-uncoordinated swings catches he ron the shoulder (that is the 15. Your AC 14 correct ?). She does not seem to notice iti in the heat of the combat. Another two cuts, then a dodge, and then two more cuts dont leave enough tendons to the zombie to be a zombie anymore. (the zomibe hit was 5)
@Character77006 (you are fine with any weapons you have, as per character creation. Silverlining wanted to role-play his gear is all. You can have anything allowed to a new character)
Manny takes a different approach :)
He gets his slong, out, makes sure to load it with magic ammo no less and start pelting at the skeleton. Its not very pretty for the skeleton at all. The magic stones are devastating !
The skeleton tries to get to Manny, but its bony feet sink slightly in the sand. Mot much but enough to make it slower. Manny kites a little, slings a little and its a no contest. Manny is ready for more, looks around to see if there is any dessert left !
@Vespera is looking for dessert too.
(ooc - we will find out if the remaining zombie is alive when kohlmetz_d pop in )
(Here is some loot that we can revisit later. I am posting it so I dont forget. It assumes a quick pat of the bodies and not a proper search. If you plan on a proper search and not going to the grotto or crystal first let me know. )
Silverlining find on his zombie: 10 gp, a necklace of animal teeth, a signet ring (5 gp)
Vespera finds on hers: 18 cp, a platinum coin wrapped in a crude map, a two-headed copper coin
Manny finds on the skeleton: 15 gp, a flask of wine, a pair of dice
(OOC - have any of you read the Chronicles of Amber (novel) or dabbled in Monte Cook's Numenera ? I plan to introduce things from both, so I am asking)
OOC - Never heard of, let alone read either Chronicles of Amber (novel) or dabbled in Monte Cook's Numenera. I read non fiction, mostly history and a few biographies. I read the Dune series years ago when I was in Afghanistan (non military) for a few years.
Silverlining (other versions is just poor typing skills) follows after the Tiefling and soon encounters the undead, real undead. A flood of adrenaline rushes into his system and some natural skill takes over. While he preferred to use a staff, there may not have been time to locate one before the fight. Either with or without a staff however, he was still armed. As the group enters the fray, a Zombie step up to the monk and his unarmed training kicks in.
Round 1: Movement: Close with Zombie Action: Unarmed Attack To Hit: 8, Damage: 5 Bonus Action: Unarmed Attack To Hit: 10, Damage: 3 Reaction: None Free Item Interaction: None Silverlining does little more than dance with the Zombie as he struggles to shake off the imbalance of his fall from the sky. He hopes that his nimbleness will prevent him from receiving any damage from his opponent.
Round 2: Movement: As needed to maintain proximity to the zombie Action: Unarmed Attack To Hit: 18, Damage: 3 Bonus Action: Unarmed Attack To Hit: 5, Damage: 3 Reaction: None Free Item Interaction: None He finds his footing and manages to land a solid blow against the Zombie, tearing into its rotting flesh in the process and capitalizes on the follow-up. Once again, hoping to elude the skeletons reprisal.
Round 3: Movement: Still dancing with the undead combatant Action: Unarmed Attack To Hit: 8, Damage: 7 Bonus Action: Unarmed Attack To Hit: 9, Damage: 8 Reaction: None Free Item Interaction: None The monk is on his game, perhaps his practice this morning improved his accuracy. Or his inner light is in synch with his body actions.
Round 4: Movement: Maintaining contact with the Zombie Action: Unarmed Attack To Hit: 14, Damage: 5 Bonus Action: Unarmed Attack To Hit: 14, Damage: 5 Reaction: None Free Item Interaction: None The dragon born hopes to finish this fight as the others are tangling with other undead. With a firm planting of his feet, he lands another strike, but hopes it is enough to finish the fight causing. He waits to see if he can evade the undead's punishment or if he will succumb to its retaliation.
Ohh yeah, a few meters away you all notice another crawling claw on the beach. This one seems to be missing a finger and as a result in the moment it is going in circle, round and round it goes.
The monk quickly grabs up the loot. Though he is unsure what exactly he will do with it, or why the creatures had the unusual necklace. Nevertheless, after grabbing up the treasure, he heads toward the Crystal. He feels a pull in that direction, the inner light guiding him towards an unknown light that shows in his mind. He doesn't rush, but moves with a stride.

Manny Loots the Skeleton, and then looks to the others.
"I found a few gold coins and wine. Not sure if it is any good....Vespera, I found dice, not sure if they are loaded....do you want them?"
Manny looks around and surveys what is around (in case there is something unmentioned?? Perception 5)
Seeing the spinning hand (cantrip) grabs a magic stone and with the sling fires. (try the combat roll) (Hopefully it works) Attack: 23 Damage: Unable to parse dice roll.
2nd round Attack: 11 Damage: Unable to parse dice roll.
Last stone before making more Attack: 24 Damage: Unable to parse dice roll.
"Do you want to go to see that Crystal? Maybe we can make sure it is safe?"
But first, before we go, can we wait a minute (Find familiar for warlock is a single action, not the length of an actual spell.) Spend an action to get an Imp...have it look like a raven (Imp ability)
"When completed look at the others and say, now we have an eye or a scout in the sky"..Grins
(ooc - I will assume Vespera will come to the Crystal since two have already decided on that first, so I will go to the next happening )
You are up the path and start heading East towards the Crystal. You pass a few dead bodies of undead. The villagers are taking care of a few dead of their own and treating the wounded. You are among the villagers now almost to the crystal when all hell breaks loose.
*splat, splat, splat* Feathers everywhere, blood and guts. You realize the sky has darkened in an instant. The splat, blood, guts and feathers belong to birds. The birds seems belong to insanity. They are not falling out of the sky, ohh no. They are diving into the ground, or rather trying to miss the ground entirely and dive into your brains or guts.
(roll me 3 x reflex saved vd DC of 15. If saved, no DMg, if not 1d4+1 (the 1 is necrotic dmg) (@Manny, you take no necrotic damage)
Its a slaughter, the birds keep suiciding, the villagers keep dying.
@Manny, you have just dodged and dodged those damn birds and you freeze for a fraction of a second. One is about to get into your brains, through your eye. And then like a blur, straight as an arrow, a small imp crashes into the bird from the side, deviates it, grabs it, bites its head off in one go, looks at you and say "Heeeeeeey !" then poof disappears.
@Silverlining and Vespera, you did not see that because you were a little busy.

Reflex save 4 if needed?
As an Imp can go invisible, I assume that is what he did or did he actually disappear and I need a new familiar? I added to my sheet all of the potential familiar I can have/want.

@everyone, the undead are dead and you each can say that you can pull your weight :)
I have posted the quick loot in the post above. Write down if you take any of it.
What are your plans next ?`Grotto or Crystal ?
Ohh yeah, a few meters away you all notice another crawling claw on the beach. This one seems to be missing a finger and as a result in the moment it is going in circle, round and round it goes.

The crawling claw goes spat when your slinged stone hits it.
(ooc - I will introduce you to your imp in the next scene.)
OOC it almost worked. Round 1 damage 7
Round 2 damage 9
Round 3 damage 6
PS I pick up the "used" sling stones and wipe them clean to replenish my ammo stock.
(ooc - I will assume Vespera will come to the Crystal since two have already decided on that first, so I will go to the next happening )

The imp went invisible. It will be your familiar now. It will go help others. Taht 4 reflex you rolled was the one where you got saved by the imp :).
Roll twice more, DC 15.
My bad, the roll is no longer called reflex, it is a dexterity save with a DC of 15.
I figured, either dex or acrobatic but both are the same for me.
Dex 22 if failed d4 damage 3
Dex 10 if failed d4 damage 4
You all better start thinking how to get out of that barrage or put something over your heads :)
