I've never played DnD but I recently saw a video in which the girl from the Daredevil show explained what DnD is to the guy from the Punisher show and it intrigued me.
I'm a grandfather and Ioften make up stories/fairytales with my 7 year old granddaughter. I would like to get into DnD and use it as a way to further bond with her.
Wondering if the vets on this subreddit can point me in the right direction on what to get and any other tips in general.
My budget is around $50 for now, but I would like to expand more into the future if she really gets into it.
7 years old might be a bit young. Like many board games, the reason their is an age range has to with a child understanding.
To sublimity your stories, you may want to find a free adventure on this site, get that and us that as a story. The adventures are a framework for a story to be played out. So reading them like a book would not work. But with effort on your part, you can fill in what the adventurers would do.
