Hit by each of the party members' attacks, the first zombie is finished in a scream of agony by Pev's radiant magic. On the lower deck, the waddling of the second zombie can still be heard but it cannot be currently seen when peering down the open hatch.
Dev makes his way from the top of the stairs to the hatch. "Oi! Up 'ere ye buggers!"he shouts down into the hold, then pulls out a handaxe. He hefts it in one hand, gives it an experimental swing, then throws it at the zombie below.
(Attack 10 Damage 7)
He stares into the darkness, then not particularly happy with the throw, he returns to the top of the stairs. "Ain't thrown one o' them in a while," he says with a frustrated sigh. "Must be gettin' rusty!"
Each of you hears the wet thud as the axe miraculously hits the second zombie below deck. For a second, there is mostly a triumphant silence... until the waddling noises below suddenly grow much louder, accompanied by a frantic splashing.
While your attention is pinned to the hatch, a heavy, wet squelching noise rises from the direction of the stairs.
Behind you, two creatures with razor-sharp teeth and jagged claws haul themselves up onto the main deck. They don't like as mindless as the zombies below with their pale eyes widening as they take in the sight of five adventurers. The first one hisses and the second lets out a guttural growl, hungry for the feast that just delivered itself to its doorstep.
It is once again the party's turn. Please post your actions when you can.
"What in all the hells do the two o' you suppost be?" he asks in surprise.
He pulls out his rabbits foot, kisses it, then lets it drop. Hefting his axe he charges the nearest of the two creatures, swinging his axe as he goes.
Bonus Action: Rage Action: To hit: 19 Damage: 6
Weapon Mastery feature: (Only if the second creature is within 5ft of the first and within reach of Dev) To Hit: 21 Damage: 4
Cleave. Once per turn, if you hit a creature with a melee attack using a Greataxe, you can make another melee attack with it against a second creature within 5 ft. of the first that’s within your reach. On a hit, the second creature takes the Greataxe’s damage, but without your ability modifier (unless the modifier is negative).
(Are they more aquatic or undead? Can Pev identify them?) (Also, depending on how we order the party’s actions, whoever attacks next after Pev may get advantage if his guiding bolt hits)
Borabash mutters an old Gnomish battle hymn, seeking guidance and good fortune for himself and those that righteously fight beside him.
Dev and Pev, all of your attacks find their marks. The creatures growls and hiss as first they both get slashed by the Barbarian's great axe. This is followed by a screeching wail from the creature hit by the radiant missile square at its chest, the holy light searing its greyish flesh.
To Ron6632: You forgot to include your rage bonus, which would still apply to the cleave as well. So, that would be an 8 to the first guy and 6 to the other.
"Dead meat by the looks of it, hun!" Lothia happily declared as she whipped out her book only to rip out a page from it and ball it up. Yet what rests in her hand after opening it is no balled up sheet of paper, but a small silver flame. "Ik'semo!" At that, the flame appears to implodes, only to just to reappear floating above the head of least wound new arrival. Lines of glowing script then appear to be siphoned from creature and into the flames, making it feel sluggish and off-balance.
Lothia then tried to follow-up by flinging another warbling mass of energy at the creature, only to see it all too likely flying right past it and scorch the walls behind it. "Shoot! Just a smidgen off~ But no worries, 'cause I got plenty more where that came from!" She declared.
Bonus Action: Cast at 1st level Hex on to whichever new creature wasn't hit by Guiding Bolt.
Action: Cast the cantrip Shocking Burst at hex target. To Hit: 7Damage: 0
(Since unless they are secretly oozes, pretty sure a 7 misses. ;P)
"Naughty naughty, trying to sneak up on us are you?" The young redhead says with a grin, her eyes flaring with fire, moving for a clear shot before unleashing magical flames from her hands that engulf the two creatures with razor-sharp teeth and jagged claws.
(Use innate sorcery and cast Burning hands, fire: 11 dex save 14 for half.)
Rage bonus is included in the attacks now on the sheet - you can activate and deactivate it, which is pretty neat. I think you're right about the second attack though. Wouldn't get my strength bonus but would get the rage(?). First would still be 6 (I rolled 1 for damage) second 6?
You have read about these creatures in your books. An elf named Doresain and worshiper of Orcus turned against his own people. He feasted on humanoid flesh to honour the Demon Prince of Undeath. As a reward for his service, Orcus transformed Doresain into the first ghoul.
Ron6632, correct, for the second hit the rage bonus should still apply as I understand it.
After having taking a substantial hit by Pev's attack earlier, the first ghoul gets reduced to ash by Val's fire magic. The second ghoul is burnt and bleeding where Dev's axe hit it but is still looking strong.
"Ah, would ye look at that? Dinner's come crawlin' t' the butcher!" Paddy says with a chuckle, spinning around to face the new arrivals that have crested the main deck. "Hold still now - oi've no patience fer a messy job."
His razor-sharp cleavers spin through the air, landing with a pair of loud thunks. His grim work done, the dragonborn searches for some cover to offer him some shelter in the midst of battle - a crate, a mast, even a simple barrel.
ACTION: Attack with thrown cleaver (aka dagger). To hit: 12. Damage: 6. BONUS ACTION: Light weapon attack with another thrown cleaver. To hit: 22. Damage: 3. MOVEMENT: 30ft to find some cover.
"Tenacious bastard, aren't you?" The young red-haired sorceress snarls, moving for a clear shot before calling upon her sorcerous magic to send a ball of flames, striking the already heavily burnt undead.
Dev neatly avoids the attack from the ghoul and swings his axe round in retribution. "You smell worse than a goblins..." and the last word is cut off as he tries to cleave the creature.
"Well, would you look at that! Seems the ship was holding out on us a bit there, huh?" Lothia idly jests while twirling another warbling mass of chaotic energy about above her hand. At the last second she has a change of heart, and with a flick of the wrist and a snap of the fingers, the orb settles into a congealed orb of acid. "There! This'll make for a better retelling!" She claims and appears to snatch the orb out of the air, only to fling it and have it explode like a grenade atop the zombie (and ghoul, if within 5ft of the zombie).
Action: Cast the cantrip Acid Splash on Ghoul and Zombie. Dex Save(DC 13) or take 4 damage. Note: If she couldn't get both without also catching dev within the 5ft radius, she focus on getting just the ghoul in it
