Zeseis flashed Crispy a smirk. "On the contrary. We can easily wait them out here. We have a height and time advantage. But I'm not one for standing around, so I'd like to be able to deal with them now and from here."
Marfaen looks a bit annoyed with the decision took by the swordsman, but instead of arguing, he takes his book again, and sits on the snow. That plan really doesn't sound good, but if I keep complaining, I'll just give them all the more reason to kick me out. He flips through the pages, trying to see if reading the book will set him calm again.
Kol stood watching the forest below him and listening to the others, he didnt know their choices but he had decided his choice was the forest. "I like the forest. The valley is could trap us if it goes too long and it might be a dead end. The forest is wide and we can have directions to scatter if needed and places to hide. If trouble finds us, we will leave it torn apart as a warning to others. Be it beasts or people, it will make them hesitant."
Marfaen smiles, while not taking away his eyes from his book. Well, at least I have someone on my side. Hearing that, it kinda makes me want to argue again to get us to the forest...
You turn to tell your group mates of your discoveries, when... something flashes at the edge of your vision. It looked like some dim light coming from somewhere in the forest, but when you try looking for it, the woods seem as dark and lifeless as they initially did.
If Marfaen was even supposed to notice that, he mildly looks straight at the forest a bit confused. Thebook managed to distract me again, not like that will stop me from reading other times, but...
"Uh... did any of you see that? I'm curious, who else is? I reinforce my vote in going through the forest, at least to find what happened."
"Yes... I did..." Zeseis muttered, sounding somewhat disgruntled. Scanning the mountainside once more, he located a path down towards the forest. "I've changed my mind. The forest seems more interesting at the moment," he announced, setting off down his secure path. "Follow me." Pausing, he glanced back at the party, and indicated an unstable snow mound. "Could one of you would kindly get that going down towards those lanterns on the other side?"
Isuzu squats down near the others, silently meditative but listening, watching and observing the others, especially Zeseis slightly confused, the warrior's manner now flustered, indecisive... seeming much removed from her Kalashtar mentors at the Refuge but then Zeseis is not a monk... perhaps his specialized training requires emphasis in other areas which this one is unfamiliar with. Still, he is Kalashtar, an enlighted... no matter how changeable... or flexible his mind.
Isuzu stands firm in her reasoning and belief that the valley is their best option but is in no hurry to get there or force the issue. For now, she will stay with these people, especially the one called Crispy, smiling to herself, Isuzu thinks about Crispy's recent fall... knowing exactly what the high-spirited woman found after her recent fall... a friend.
Looking again at the twinkling lights Isuzu hopes that they can avoid conflict, seeing no need for it, blood begets blood. Deep down Isuzu feels their searching will not continue over the long haul suspecting that for now they will continue to give chase but will withdraw back and reinforce a perimeter that they can manage, reinforce and resupply more easily and then send in smaller more specialized units to track and hunt those they are unable to ferret out in this massive wave... more a show of power... Isuzu thinks, not for the benefit of those like this group who have just entered but rather for those native to this unknown region who even now observe.
Slowly Isuzu stands and approaches the others and bows, "this one respectfully accepts the wisdom of the majority and bows to your will. Majority rule only works if you're also considering individual rights because you can't have five wolves and one sheep voting on what to have for supper,"her watchful gaze meeting that of Crispy with a slight hint of a smile.
There’s something... strange about the forest. Nothing any of you can put your fingers on, not a particularly bad feeling, or even a good one. Just something in the back of your minds that’s tickling your subconscious in a way none of you consciously recognize. Tall dark pine trees tower above you, healthy ever green branches sagging visibly with the weight of their snowy burden. One good push, and anyone standing under one of those would probably get a surprise shower.
There are absolutely no signs of life in the forest. No tracks, no birds nests, no insects, no noise. It’s as unsettling as it is peaceful. After entering the forest proper, you feel... some strange sensation that you can’t quite place. It’s like you’re being followed, but not by something your instincts tell you is dangerous.
A minute passes, before you all see another flash of dimlight way ahead of you. Now that you’ve found it, and are concentrating on it, it’s easily trackable, drunkenly weaving in and out of sight in the tree line a good hundred or so feet ahead of you.
Kol walked toward the forest looking around and ignoring the light, if it was so obvious their must be something wrong. It moved and always just far enough away to keep them going. The forest around was silent and dead, he saw no life and even in the cold and ice there should be some sign. Kol pulled his wine skin and paused compressing snow till it was a harden bowl shape of ice. He poured a some of his wine into it, and bowed his head. "Spirits of the old forests, I offer a humble gift of wine to you. May it please you. I offer my thanks to the forest and all the dwell in it." Kol stood and continued as if he had done nothing unusual, it was a common practice to his people.

Isuzu notes the flash and the distance and does not hesitate and makes anDash hoping to be upon it and confront it directly but has no intent to threaten, intimidate or attack it, whatever or whoever it is but will defend herself as necessary looking instead to find out who or what they are dealing with... and attempt to introduce herself peacefully and make friends.
Isuzu withDash her normal movement of 50' (doubled by the dash to 100') should be able to close the distance and be right on it in a single round/action note that her racial trait/featureOrien's Grace allows when using the Dash action, difficult terrain doesn’t cost you extra movement on that turn. In any event at the end of her dash movement as a bonus action as needed (if needed) to make it the rest of the way, in order to get ahead of it in the direction it appears to be going then Isuzu using her dragonmark of passage make use of herracial trait/feature Shared Passage (Once per long rest as a bonus action, you can teleport a distance up to your walking speed, ending in an unoccupied space that you can see. You can bring one willing creature of your size or smaller who is carrying gear up to its carrying capacity. The creature must be within 5 ft. of you when you use this trait.) giving her an additional 50' of movement (note if used just herself, no one with her since she had to move quickly alone at the start of this).
Marfaen pockets his book again, happy to go to his original intended direction, getting up and following the group.
Getting closer to the light, he looks rather confused at first, but he tries to make some details out, before the monk leaves in a rush among the trees.
"Wow, that girl is fast..." That for sure could help.
He doesn't walk any faster to try to go along with her, instead, he tries to gather the details at a distance, while walking at a normal pace there, before actually rushing in.
Looking around behind them just to be careful, and hearing whoose of movement and turning around looking at the remaining Adventurers. Kol paused counting and blinked seeing the snow trail leading away, "Where did the Ash skinned one go?" Looks further away and is surprised to see Isuzu racing away. "Fast as a storm blown ship, but stupid as trusting a sandbar." Pulls his shield and keeps it ready and starts toward the stupid women. "Stay behind me, I am not as squishy as you lot. Conqueror, if anything comes, I pray you are as good with your shield and mace as your mouth."
"You can't conquer anything by force alone, wild one. If anything should attack us, though, I will make short work of it," Zeseis replied, readying his mace and shield. "If you're insisting on taking point, I'd like to bring up the rear, with our less protected members in the center."
OoC: Whenever anyone wants to say they've heard Marfaen talk to himself, a perception check of DC 10 should be enough to hear clearly everything he said (He speaks somewhat loudly), and DC 8 to at least know he was talking to himself. I just wanted it to be a part of the RP because I actually have a reason to put it there.
Marfaen hears the group while traveling through the forest. Is it a requirement to refer to each other by nicknames in this group? Why did we share our names at the start of this, then? He tries to squint to get what detail he could from afar, he already had a pretty good grasp of what he was seeing, it was just describing it that was a bit hard.
Without taking her eyes off the forest, trying to see if she could see the lights again, she nodded her head. He brought up some good points as well.
Personally, she didn't care which way they went. All she wanted was to finish the job, and return home.

"Guess we're pressing forward," Zeseis sighed, somewhat miffed. And here I thought I'd be taking point. He continued forward, following Isuzu's path.
