Can't say I would be too enthusiastic about fairies. Aasimar, if you put forward a good case for it. I am leaning more towards the traditional races with this, but that doesn't mean a good character concept would necessarily be dismissed out of hand
I've never ghosted a campaign, I write all my own posts and don't use AI, I can post at least every other day (usually daily), roleplaying is my favorite part of RPGs, I would enjoy a long-term campaign, and I'm okay with 5.5 rules.
The lands controlled by the Free City of Greyhawk are called Greyhawk and they're in Flanaess.
Ezek Matok
Species: Human
Class: Warlock (Planning on taking First Vampire Patron)
Role: DPS/striker, face skills, some stealth ability, temporary HP generation.
Backstory: Born in the Duchy of Ulek, Ezek had no desire to be yet another manual laborer, didn't have the patience to work behind a desk, and was too ambitious to settle for those anyway. This ambition seemed unlikely to lead to anything even with his talent for influencing others, but Ezek managed to obtain a luxurious if haphazard lifestyle as a socialite. He became a fixture at social gatherings, alternatively charming other guests and making some money on the side through gambling. He managed to avoid gaining a reputation as a rake, but it became known that he didn't have much to offer outside of conversation.
Irritated by this, Ezek began seeking out other means of improving his situation. He tried to learn magic, but showed no aptitude for studying it and lacked any inborn ability. He had no interest in prayer so becoming a Cleric was also out of the question and given his preference for cities and distaste for wild areas there was no way he'd become a Druid. He tried various occult rituals that were supposed to grant magical abilities, but it seemed like nothing ever came of them. But that all changed one evening when a mysterious stranger at one party offered him a "Unique Opportunity" after losing all their money to him in a game of dice. Ezek accepted a cold handshake and discovered himself to be the newest Warlock of what was either an especially powerful Vampire or other being of blood and death (I will happily work with the DM to decide who his Patron is).
Drunk with his new powers and the wine he'd drunk to celebrate gaining them, Ezek ended up causing a scandal at the next party he attended. His identity wasn't known (it was a masquerade) but he saw the wisdom in getting out of the city for a while. Seeing a chance to obtain power, glory, and great wealth Ezek decided to become an adventurer. He's hoping the rewards and glamor of doing so will get him closer to the kind of life he desires, and that through his Pact that life can be an eternal one. Right now he's on the road to (wherever the adventure starts), not sure what awaits him there but eager to put distance between himself and his dissolute past and get closer to what he believes is a bright future.
Personality: Ezek dislikes being alone, preferring to work with others towards whatever goals he has. He's a loyal friend and will happily help those he cares about with their goals. He loves eating, drinking, music, books, and whatever other enjoyments life has to offer. Ezek takes pride in his good looks, admiring himself in reflective surfaces whenever he gets the chance to. A quick way to get on Ezek's good side is to compliment his appearance, he's even willing to pose for someone who seems appreciative. He's eloquent and well-read, loves the sound of his own voice, and will say whatever it takes to persuade those he's talking to that they should do as he says.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Name: Liesbet Dimeyere Race: Human Class: Artificer Background: Crafter Trinkets: 100, 2 Backstory: Originally from Pomarj, she has recently fled from Highport to Gryrax. (WIP)
Name: Liesbet Dimeyere Race: Human Class: Artificer Background: Artisan Trinkets: 2, 44 Backstory: Originally from Pomarj, Liesbet grew up amongst the small free-human portion of Highport. With her parents making their living as tradesmen, she had connections to many of the artisans in the city. Showing an interest even when young, she first learned woodcarving. Over time she took to many other crafts as well, even learning to cook. When old enough to start to support herself, she quickly took up work as a woodcarver, though she was always willing to work to fix or try to make most anything.
In her work, she ended up meeting a young woman that came into town now and then. This woman turned out to be a druid from the area around Elredd and the Suss Forest. To both of their surprise, Liesbet turned out to have a natural affinity for druidic magic and learned a bit of spells. More than that though, she started to learn a bit about groups that hoped to free the Pomarj from its oppressive rulers. Liesbet had always disliked many of the cruel practices in Highport, especially the slavery and sacrifice of living people to some of the gods. But it wasn't like she felt she could do anything about it. This young woman suggested there might be ways.
Her involvement in such rebellious activities was extremely limited, until an event with her parents. She never knew exactly what happened, but somehow their trade activities ran afoul of a powerful orcish smuggling operation. Her father was killed and her mother was unable to continue her work. There was a constant threat of retribution towards her mother. And so Liesbet became a bit more willing to help out these groups that sought to bring about change. This came to a head after her mother was arrested on falsified charges. Liesbet, with her inventions, joined a group that planned a jailbreak. It ended in failure, with a few of the group arrested and though she escaped, she had no idea of the ultimate status of her mother.
With the execution of those who were arrested from her group, and the fact that the guard had seen Liesbet, she knew she had to flee. Arrangements were made to get her on a ship out of Highport to the city of Blue. From there, a different ship took her in secret to Gryrax. Now in a new city in the Principality of Ulek, Liesbet is on her own now. She hopes that the authorities of Highport will have no interest in pursuit. And now that is well known, she hopes those who had been after her mother cannot reach her here. Now she just has to figure what she will do next.
Ok with the 5.5e rules; Domain of Greyhawk
Trinkets: A crystal that faintly glows in moonlight; A mechanical canary inside a lamp
Gonna finish up the character later today, but since there are more people applying, does it matter which class I choose now, or have those first four already been selected for the game?

Hey, It's me, RaccoonMaster! I'm back! I disappeared for a while there, but now everything's good and I'm trying to get into more games!
I'm an actor, writer, singer (opera, musical theatre, and rock are my preferred genres), backpacker, and tall person (6'5 and counting). Pronouns are whatever, I mostly use They/Them though.
My Characters: Elsenia Selevarum:The Popular Paladin, Aasimar Noble, Level 5 Paladin of Redemption;
Also I think we have enough applicants now, so I'll close the thread. If you've just posted stats, do come up with a character concept. It's just to stop any new postings
Taken in at age 7 by a former mercenary that was his late father's friend. He was raised on stories of his father's and foster father's exploits. He has set out to find his own fortune.
I'm probably leaning towards a martial class if I'm honest. There's a nice balance already.
Cleric, Bard, Fighter, Monk, Barbarian, Ranger would all work, I think.
The party makeup rn is
Rogue Warlock Druid Paladin
My charcter is Artificer, does that mean it won't be considered? Willing to reframe as Fighter if that helps. Not sure if you just didn't want that class as it's new.
Luz is a cleric of Ehlonna, who hopes to become a life cleric. Her father married a maiden of pure heart and great beauty. He was an adventurerer who returned to their home in the forest between excursions. When her Aasimar abilities manifested, he said "Lets keep that quiet", with a wink. He homeschooled her from then on (treating as "Acolyte") and when it was time to go into the world, he suggested Silverton.
(TSR was hyping Forgotten Realms when I started, so I know very little about Greyhawk, and didn't see much to work with on the Wiki. I'm not married to Aasimar, so I can change that if you want, but If you want a healer...)
Also, what do you want for starting equipment? Standard money? Use the "equipment" option?
This sounds right up my alley! I'm not super well-versed in Greyhawk lore, but I know there's a lot of cool stuff there, so its time to do some research! Let's see how RNGjesus feels about me today!
Ability scores set 1: 12108141114

Okay, here we go. I thought about class choice, and though it's not technically a martial, I do have good armor and some weapon use (True Strike baby!), so we shall see. Hopefully I can do the Domain of Greyhawk justice.... ___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
Leara Regor (She/They), Seeker of the Flame of Truth
-Character concept: A Suelish human priestess of Lydia, goddes of Daylight and Truth. She aspired to be a heroic guard, and eventually found out her father was running a smuggling ring. She failed to capture him, but discovered divine powers. In shame at her failure, she decided to work at the temple of Lydia, until one day she heard about Silvertown...
-Short backstory: Leara was born into a Suelish family to a smuggler father and a scholarly mother in the port city of Gryrax. While her mother taught them to be inquisitive and curious, teaching her the basics of Arcane magic, their father, who kept his identity as a smuggler a secret, saw a spark of keen intellect within her, and tried to teach them to be cunning and secretive.
While she learned many things from him, they conflicted morally with him, having learned her morals from a different source. This source was Athania, a priestess of Lydia, Suelish goddes of light and truth. This priestess taught Leara the tenets of the faith, to always seek truth and shine a light in the darkness.
At the age of 13, they saw a city guard save civilians from a dockfire, and knew that she wanted to become a hero, a guard loyal to the city who would save the day. They brought this dream to Athania, who encouraged her to pursue it. After five years of training, they joined the city guard, where she utilized her arcane magic to track down criminals.
They soon became assigned to investigate a massive smuggling plot, trying to bust a criminal guild that had been smuggling stolen goods and materials. She finally managed to catch them in the act, but was captured and taken to their hideout.
After awaking, they realized that her father was the leader of this criminal ring, and they flew into a rage. He realized that she would not keep this quite, and so decided to kill them. Just as he was about to bring the knife down, she remembered what Athania had taught them and cried out to Lydia, praying for light and truth in this dark time. She suddenly emanated a burst of flaming light, and stunned the smugglers long enough to escape.
In an emotional meltdown, realizing that they had failed to bust the smuggling ring, she resigned from the guard force, and turned to working at the Temple of Lydia, honing their divine powers, until one day she heard tell of a small mining town in the mountains called Silvertown, and realized that maybe it was time to find the light of truth once again.
-Class: Cleric of the Light Domain.

-Confirmation you’re OK with 5.5e updated rules: Yes, love 'em. __________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

I'll very much consider it. I do need to take a look at the class first as I don't know too much about it.
