The character sheet for Balthathar is not public. The DM won't be able to see it.
Thanks! Somehow I made same mistake again.
I'm guessing your going for a polearm master war caster Eldritch blast build?
Yeah… not sure the DM will let me behead someone with the blunt end of a weapon though.
Balthathar will kite around the enemies, poking at them with his vorpal glaive from behind the party’s high-AC frontliners.
We pretty much have the same strategy except I'm going to use a riding horse and if I reach level 9 I'll swap to the sap property on hits and keep the graze property on misses
And Brynja stands in the front to protect everyone else...
I'll need less protection than others because I have 2 uses of second wind, and I think mud will be fine with their deflect attacks. I'm not really sure how the pugilist works but I imagine they have something to offset damage as well
Speaking of which I haven't really looked at pally but I heard it got nerfed immensely?
Hey DM is it fine if I get a riding horse? I have the gold for it
I have a few questions about the curses first does it ignore THP and secondly can it be reduced in any way?
First, yes, getting a riding horse is fine, but it will primarily be utility since most of the campaign will be dungeon delving.
Second question, the curses do NOT ignore temp HP, they are just damage. If you find a way to reduce the damage, have at it... though... I will say that you cannot gain full immunity. If you find a way to gain resistance to a damage type, fine.

Unhappy that the market got rid of individual purchases for one-off subclasses, magic items, and monsters?

Just looking at the first few levels, I would just say it got tweaked a bit, not nerfed. A bit better in some things, a bit weaker in others.
Lay on hands is now a bonus action instead of an action, making it a LOT easier to use. But it can no longer cure disease. And paladins no longer become immune to disease.
Smite are now a bonus action instead of part of an attack, but you get a free smite per long rest.
Spell casting now starts at first level instead of second level.
So you can't do both smite and lay on hands in the same round, but you can at least attack and lay on hands. You can only smite once per round, but you get an extra smite per day. So overall, I think a bit better with the new rules. 🙂

This one is definitely important to know for Liselle because - and I didn't even think about this at the time I drafted her - the Spellfire Spark origin feat gives once per turn 1d4 damage reduction to any spell or magical effect which affects her, which could theoretically just cancel out the curse at lower levels. Of course, the curse will outscale that eventually.
It was going to be her background regardless because she is drafted as a full send Spellfire character, but with the cursed item she received it is a somewhat humorous result.

A short backstory, which ends with you meeting a mysterious stranger who gives you this legendary item of power:
Flint wasn’t always the smartest of his kind…sure he had strength to rival lions, the intestinal fortitude of a horse, and the looks of a bard.
But he was almost as smart as a dog…almost.
Whenever his clan was attacked, it was Flint who was in the front lines. Whenever the chieftain suspected poison in his food, it was Flint who tested the food. Whenever there was a beautiful damsel needing saving…it was usually Flint.
But he was godawful at anything requiring intellectual prowess.
Thats what led him to the mysterious figure in the woods, promising immense power.
Flint traded his soul for the super shiny suit of armor, and his patron deity sent him a “miniature giant telepathic hyperintelligent furred snake” (a weasel) to assist in renewing his oath and finding his true purpose in life.
This weasel was named Steel, and they set off into the sunset arguing about the origin of bacon as they began there quest for Flint’s soul.
And, after much consideration, players have been selected and invites sent. Thank you everyone for your interest; all of your applications were fantastic! Happy gaming, everyone :-)

That's pretty convenient for lower levels

So, I'm thinking I may have enough applicants for two groups... I'll have to think carefully on that...
