I went with Adamantine Plate and Sentinel Shield for his magic items. Since I went with the gold option over starting equipment, there was enough left to purchase a silvered longsword as well (fits his aesthetic of absolute decadence and always taking the finest for himself, plus technically a magic weapon now if you're still using 2024 monsters that resist non-magical weapons)
