Its early spring in the city of Waterdeep, which means it's cold and damp. Misty rain has fallen for days on end. Tonight a fog has settled in and it looks thick enough to last through the next day.
You sit around a sturdy wooden table lit by a brightly burning candle and littered with plates cleared of food and half-drained tankards. The sounds of gamblers yelling and drunken adventurers singing bawdy songs nearly drown out the off-key strumming of Threestrings, a young bard, three tables over.
Then all the noise is eclipsed by a shout: “Ya pig! Like killin’ me mates, does ya?” Then a seven-foot-tall half-orc is hit by a wild, swinging punch from a male human whose shaved head is covered with eye-shaped tattoos. Five other humans stand behind him, ready to jump into the fray. The half-orc, Yagra Strongfist, cracks her knuckles, roars, and leaps at the tattooed figure — but before you can see if blood is drawn, a crowd of spectators clusters around the brawl. What do you do?
Gendal see the fray erupt and uses thaumaturgy and as all the candles nearby flare up to an almost uncomfortable level for the previously dim room a booming voice shouts One on One, keep it fair or suffer my wrath.

Seeing Yagra, who is a friendly acquaintance of mine, get into a bit of trouble I rush into to assist her. Seeing the four humans about to jump into that fray, I address them "You wouldn't be thinking of making this into a five on one fight would you? That hardly seems sporting. I tell you what, let me in and let's call it even."

Dihek'nir shifts something from his back to his side, puts a foot-long pipe-like thing in his mouth, huffs and puffs a few times and then presses his elbow in.
Out comes a VERY loud noise. Performance check: 5
He smiles broadly, "I've found out that bagpipes sometimes have a calming effect just through sheer volume of the sound!"
E5P10NAG3 will slowly circle around the five with his hands on the hilts of his short swords. Not saying anything, trying to stay somewhat inconspicuous in the crowd. his body concealed by his cloak. He will stand ready to attack any of the 5 men if they draw weapons of things start to get out of hand.

A crowd forms around the brawl and slightly obscures your view, but you still see Yagra sock the tattooed man in the jaw, sending him sprawling to the ground. The other four men lurch at her with fists and kicks flying from all parties. Gendal flares up all the candles in the tavern and yells in a booming voice to keep the fight fair, a few other patrons start yelling similar sentiments. Dihek'nir pulls out a bagpipe, attempting to quell the ruckus, but the loud sounds only add the growing chaos. E5P10NAG3 rises from the table and slips in to the crowd to get a better view of the fight and be ready in case someone draws a weapon. Karugur pushes his way in to defend Yagra, Half-Orcs gotta stick together.
Lets roll initiative going forward, you don't have to fight, but it will keep it organized

E5P10NAG3 (I will shorten it to SP or 5P pronounced espee because I don't want to type E5P10NAG3 all the time lol) will pull out a dagger and attempt to strike one of the attackers with the pummel on the back of the head from behind, in the hopes of delivering non-lethal damage. "Engaging hostile targets, protecting ally." Will echo from the motionless face of the warforged in an emotionless voice.
SP slips into the fight and knocks one of the thugs in the back of the head with the hilt of his dagger. He hits him just right and the man falls down unconscious.

Seeing his warning ignored and the situation escalating Gendal will cast fire bolt at the human attacker closest to the half-orcs, but will aim at his feet hoping to wound him and discourage more aggression.

Gendal, seeing all the men gang up on Yagra, launches a firebolt and hits one of the men in the back. The flame knocks him forward and blackens his shirt a bit and he turns back to see who fired at him.
Durnan, the proprietor of the Yawning Portal, yells, "Hey! No fire in the tavern! Stop that brawling!"
Karugur lets out a mighty roar and swings his huge fist at one of the other men, hitting him across the brow and dazing the man for a second.
One of the men turns his attention from Yagra, to help his tattooed friend up off the ground, "Come on Krentz, get up ya bloody fool." and he tries to slap his friend awake.
The slightly singed man turns and runs at Gendal, taking a swing at his head - Attack: 18 Damage: 2 - Gendal, tries to duck but the man's fist connects
The man that Karugur hit takes a swing back at him - Attack: 10 Damage: 2 - Karugur is able to dodge the wild swing
And the last man kicks at Yagra - Attack: 12 Damage: 2 - The man is so off balance that Yagra grabs his foot and deflects the kick
**these guys cant beat a 24, so you grapple one. I'm just going to say you grapple the guy who kicked at Yagra**
So you all know that the Yawning Portal gets its name from the 40 foot wide hole that is located in the center of the main room, that descends down deep into the Under Mountain. As you all are making all this racket from the fighting, the bagpipes, and the thaumaturgy, you suddenly hear a low rumbling sound coming from deep down in the hole.
Yagra takes a moment to look over at the hole, then cold cocks the man that Dihek'nir is holding - Attack: 14 Damage: 3

Gendal shouts My apologies for the flames, as he does that he swings his quarterstaff at the temple of the man that punched him. He hopes to knock him out but frankly doesn't care if he dies after all he gave a verbal warning and a warning shot.
