Hexody's spell goes off and two of the goblins fall asleep.Flaysteir's bolt flies true and strikes the goblin in the chest, killing it. Pearson's flames singe one of the goblins' arms, but the goblin shakes if off.
Hexody slings her lute onto her back and lets out a slow breath. "Goblins. And they seem to have kidnapped Gundren and Sildar!" She eyes the map case and then the sleeping goblins. "We should tie them up. I can't bear killing the helpless little beasts. They will wake up very soon, though."
Kelsier stows his longbow and draws his knifes as he approaches, ready to attack if they wake up. “I agree. It is obvious that our good friends did not arrive to Phandalin. Perhaps these little ones know where they may be.” He stands at the ready to help tie the goblins up or knock them back out if they wake up.
Hexody shyly removes a pair of manacles from her pack, trying hard to feign normalcy. She first tosses the goblin's weapons away and then shackles the left wrist of one to the right ankle of the other. "Do you think that will be enough?" she says. "If someone has ropes, we can bind them further. Does anyone speak goblin?"
Kelsier thinks to himself for a moment before saying “I’m not thinking that will be necessary, my good sir. While I don’t speak the language, from what little I remember from my teachings as a child, most goblinoids read Dwarvish, which I do know. That should serve us well enough for our purposes.” He grimaces, resheathing his knifes now that the threat is over. ”That is, if these creatures can read and write. If not, then I’m sure we can get creative, as distasteful as that may be.” With that, he goes back to the wagon, grabs a loose leaf of paper from his things, and returns. He writes You will answer all my questions if you wish to live. Did you kill these horses? Where are their riders? in Dwarvish. When the small assailants awake, he waits for them to focus their attention on him before showing them the paper and then repeating the questions in Common, hoping one of the two methods will get through to them.

Folari stands behind Kelsier with his greataxe, still covered in goblin blood, over his shoulder. His towering statures casts a shadow over the tied up goblins.

Flaysteir finds 28 sp and 34 cp, as well as their shoddy armor and weapons.
The map case is a well made, completely empty map or scroll case.
One of the two goblins answers back in crude common, "Klarg send out bigger group to kidnap human and dwarf, we all kill horses. We stay behind to see who we can surprise on trail." The second goblin, looking nervous, says "Everyone take prisoners to Klarg, path in forest on other side."
Seeing that the two prisoners speak Common, Kelsier sets aside the paper. “Can you show us where the human and the dwarf were taken? And who is this Klarg? You said a larger group left with the prisoners. How many of you are there?” As he asks this, he casually drops his hand to his belt, draws a dagger, and begins cleaning his fingernails.

Hexody is praying silently to Milil while Kelsier questions the goblins. She opens her eyes and frowns slightly. "I won't let them hurt you," she says to the goblins. "But we cannot just leave those men to the whims of this Klarg fellow. What can we expect? Then we will be on our way."
Kelsier returns fire at the fleeting form of G2 with his longbow.
