As D.O.R.K. examines the doors it is as if she hears Torunn's voice in her head "always look for the weak spots?". Upon closer investigation D.O.R.K. realises that the ice is fractured and contains many small flaws.
If the construct could be grimace, she might've done so after a moment. Instead she merely looked to the ground in thought for a moment, before finally turning to those nearby. "Unless one of you wish to make a request of Harshnag, I will need your assistance in cracking the ice to ease pressing on pass these next set of doors." She then gestures to one of the fractures. "With strong precise strikes, the rest will give way easily enough. I believe I can point out the optimal ones for toppling the ice, but we will need to be ready to move immediately after as to avoid any frozen shrapnel." D.O.R.K suggests.

(OOC: which doors - north or south - were D.O.R.K. and Ebonitus chipping the ice off)
Both Ebonitus and D.O.R.K. pull crowbars out of their back packs and start levering bits of ice off the door. It takes about 30 minutes before they get enough ice off the door to judge that they will be able to open it.
Ilezenya examines the runes around the glowing archway, the sconces on either side, and then looks at each of the statues and the weapons they are holding out. He is looking for clues as to what the runes mean, if the sconces are for anything other than torches, and what the weapons are...
Despite his best efforts Devin is unable to send his eye through the glowing archway. He is able to work out that they are magical but no more than that. In a whispered conversation he draws this fact to the attention of Illezenya who was unable to work that out.
(OOC: How is Ilezenya examining the sconces - just looking at them)
Mullo has her warpick ready to defend herself or any of the others. With her warning in mind, she is watching out for anything that might be the danger she was warned of.
Ilezenya visually examines the sconces first. Are they just torch or candle holders, or are they designed for a more unique shape - like a driftglobe or a crystal of some sort? Then he will inspect the are around them - any signs to indicate they move? Of course, he is also looking for any indications of a trap, too! If it seems safe, he will then physically manipulate the sconces to see if they twist, tilt, pull out or push in! (Perception: 15 -- Investigation: 16)
As Illezenya examines the sconces he discovers that they are bolted to their niches and he is unable to twist, tilt, pull out or push them in in any way.
As D.O.R.K. and Ebonitus finish chipping the ice away they discover that they can no longer see anything in the darkness of the chamber. Devin also discovers that he has a similar problem.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
(@DM: Unless Dork's torch went out after presumably setting it aside to chip away at the ice, they should be able to see if in a limited capacity. And if it has been, assume she lights another as part of the post below)
As D.O.R.K turns to call out to some of the others, noting the change, she briefly cants her head to the side before calling out, "I believe your blessing has run its course, Warden Illezenya. So, we shall have to take special care going forward Though that as it may, we should all gather, as it will take all of us to open the door. So, if all acolytes would kindly gather in the north."She starts motion folk over and directing them towards what she felt might by the most optimum positions prior to taking up one herself to assist in the effort. And if they should manage to get the door open at least wide enough for the group to comfortably pass through into the north, then that's enough by her standards. Harshnag could always push it open the rest of the way if he wished to keep pace with the group. Before then, she would make a point of being the first through the door with torch again in hand, ready to give the next area a once over.
(Not sure if just the combined strength score of those opening the door is enough, or if a strength check is in order. So, rolling just in case it matters below)
As the darkness begins to enfold around him Devin grunts. "Hmm, I kinda liked being able to see in the dark." A moment later a Light appears on his shield. "Better I guess."
He then begins to study the statues noting that one of them does not seem to have a weapon. "I do not see the frost giants weapon in this room. We may need to find it. Perhaps each statue must hold a weapon to open the portal. But I think the runes have a purpose as well."
He then goes back to try and read the runes (Devin reads/speaks Giant) but if he doesn't know what they mean or represent he calls to Harshnag if he is still with them.
17 Arcane would be +3 Investigation +0
"Harshnag, do you know what these runes say or represent?"
Once they have chipped off sufficient ice, D.O.R.K. and Ebonitus are able to push open the door enough that the party cam squeeze through. D.O.R.K. holds up his torch and sees that this is another huge room which disappears off into the darkness. Immediately to their left is a large statue of a Stone giant while to their right is a set of wide stairs leading upwards.
Unable to make sense of the runes despite his best efforts Devin turns to ask Harshnage and then realises he is not in the room with them (OOC: in Post #4092 I indicated that Harshnag wasn't prepared to go any further. I therefore interpreted the conversation in Post #4098 as taking place outside of this room).
"Before we go further," says Ebonitus to all, then continuing to Mullo, "What was in the bundle the other Shaman was carrying? Might it be what the frost Giant was meant to be offering? Have you had a close look at the position of the frost Giant's hands/arms? Perhaps we can tell something about the shape of what it might have been meant to be carrying."

D.O.R.K stopped mid advancing step at Ebonitus request. "Bundle? What bundle?"She turned about fully and regards Mullo, genuinely seeming curious regarding circumstances. If it should become clear that whatever the bundle holds would not fit a giant's hand, the construct almost immediately loses interest, and returns her attention to the other room. If otherwise, she'd study it for a moment, but otherwise seem distracted looking back into the other room.
Mullo unties a small bundle from her side and holds it in one hand. Pulling open the top, she looks inside and extracts an object that fits in her hand. "This was her component pouch. It is mostly filled with mundane items she used to perform her magic. This," she says, presenting a very small carving of a serpent with feathered wings, "is not a normal ingredient." She twists the carving so that it seems to change color as it catches the light from Devin's shield. "I thought it something personal. Do you think it may have something to do with this temple?"
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
"I do not know," says Ebonitus, "I'll take a closer look." He then takes a close look at the carving and the Frost Giant statue to see if they belong together.
"That seems highly unlikely given the size of the object, but not outside the realms of possibility if possessed of a less obvious magical natural."D.O.R.K commented after canting her head and studying the object as Ebonitus manipulated it. She then looked expectantly at Devin.

In case it wasn't clear the statues are all life size which means that even in its kneeling position the Frost Giant's hands are about 8 feet off the ground (Frost giant's average 21 feet in height). Exactly how is Ebonitus going to place the small statuette in in the Frost Giant's outstretched but empty hands.
(OOC: @ 6' tall my fingers reach to the top of a volleyball net which is 8' from the floor, so at 6' 2" Ebonitus could certainly reach the frost giant's hands.)
"It would be best if someone strong could give me a boost to inspect the frost Giant's hands." says Ebonitus, "Perhaps someone strong such as you, D.o.R.K. would be best."
