In response to Dork, Mullo's mouth tightens into a thin line before she says, "I could throw the bones." She locates the proper pouch hanging from one of her wrappings and palms it. "What question shall I ask? Whether the dragon was after one of us? Whether the dragon still peruses us?"
In more recent time ...
Mullo moves to the rail and clicks her tongue. "Griffons!" she warns. "They may be children of Uthgar, but they are no friends of any other tribe. We should prepare to defend ourselves."
Hey, DM, have we rested since we were digging in the mound?
On the day prior, D.O.R.K appeared thoughtful for a few moments, but in the end nodding in agreement. "Both if possible, but either one should be sufficient for today in narrowing down possibilities." She assured, and settled more into her seat to observe Mullo's ritual. Though likely no matter the answer, as only an imminent attack would've sparked action, the construct bowed her head in thanks for the reading, before then returning to her duties... should none have more to add for the day.
Tomorrow eve, or so she thought, she'd speak to their prisoner on the subject...
In the present...
Torn away from checking in on provisions below deck by the calls of concern, D.O.R.K immediately rushed back up topside to take in the situation. By the time she does, her shield had been firmly strapped into place and parts of her body faintly glowed from added enchantments called forth in preparedness for anything. And just as she's directed to the riders, she holds out a hand. Fibers, metal, and other intricate parts shift and slide away and reveal a sort of hand cannon covered in a mix of arcane sigils and divine runes. "Permission to fire then once they are within range?" She called of Mullo from her by then position near the bow of the ship.
(@Grant: Following Mullo's warning, roughly how far away would they be by the time D.O.R.K is on deck? Because she may make the executive decision to start snipping them 'fore they get too close if at all possible)
(Also since this is a mid-morning event, would she have had time earlier to cast her usual level 3 aid spell on Mullo, Ebon, and herself before the broke apart for morning business.)

If D.O.R.K. wishes to be below decks she wont be able to make it on deck in the round it will take for the Griffons to reach and land on the airship. She will have been able to cast her usual level 3 aid spell on Mullo, Ebon, and herself earlier in the day.

Ilezenya grabs one of the crewmen and positions him in front of the wheel. "You have the conn. Hold this course and speed unless otherwise directed." He then moves to the starboard side near the stern and watches the incoming riders, prepared for an attack...

Devin rushed to the front of the ship on the port side and looked out at the approaching griffons. "The Griffon Cavalry was the air cavalry of the city of Waterdeep! I'm pretty sure that's not them though. We better be ready for anything."
A ball of blue fire appeared in Devin's right hand which he held down by his side and out of view. He readied a firebolt in case the griffon's and their riders attack.
Ready Firebolt Attack: 21 Damage: 14 if they attack us first
To get down to the deck Ebonitus has to climb the netting on the outside of the balloon canopy, by climbing as fast as he can (i.e. using dash) whilst maintaining three points of contact at all time - which does not require an ability test - it will take Ebonitus the full round to get back down to the deck.
Mullo you're up!
Devin you're on deck - you're readied action will go off as soon as the first griffon lands on the deck.
"Both if possible, but either one should be sufficient for today in narrowing down possibilities." Dork assured, and settled more into her seat to observe Mullo's ritual.
Mullo sat down, taking one of the longer strands from her clothes and forming it into a circle on the ground before her. She upends the small pouch, and a collection of bleached bones carved with runes and inlaid with gems tumble into her open palm. She drops the pouch and cradles the bones in the palms of her open hands above the circle, closes her eyes, and takes a deep breath. "I beseech Uthgar, the Battle Father, and Tempus, the Lord of Battles. Please reveal to me whether the dragon which the giant Harshnag battled in the giants' temple was searching for one of our party." Opening her eyes, she pulls her hands apart, letting the bones fall into the circle. (Casting Augury.)
Now:
Ready for battle, but hoping for peace, Mullo decides to not make the first move. She slowly moves away from the edge of the ship in a way she would wish the approaching Griffons to interpret as a weary welcoming party. She draws her warpick, but lets it dangle at her side and prepares to defend herself if necessary. Haetone, sensing the uneasiness of the situation, backs up to 20 feet behind Mullo.
(OOC: Casting Augury wont give Mullo an answer to that question it is a future looking type spell - did Mullo mean to cast Divination?)
The three members of the party on deck (Devin, Mullo and Illezenya) form a line across the airship just in front of the furnace from port to starboard as follows (Devin, Mullo and Illezenya - on the rail) as the Griffons approach. Devin's flings a bolt of fire at them but misses - fortunately it did not land on the airship as the Griffons approach to land. One of the Griffons lands in front of Devin and the other lands in front of Mullo.
"We hope that you come in peace - or at least neutrality. My companion just wanted you to know that we are not incapable of defending ourselves if you were thinking of any offensive actions. So, what brings you to our airship in this empty place of the world?" Ilezenya calls out to the riders. (Prepared action - if the riders attack, Ilezenya will cast bane at 2nd level to impact all four riders - DC15 Cha save)
One of the barbarians - Hronimm (Uthgardt #1) - grunts to the others in a language that only Mullo can understand as one of the barbarians - Yimm (Uthgardt #3) - dismounts and moves towards Devin swing his Great Axe but before he does so Illezenya's spell goes off: Hronimm (Uthgardt #1) - DC 15 [Cha] - 12 Totmig (Uthgardt #2) - DC 15 [Cha] - 5 Yimm (Uthgardt #3) - DC 15 [Cha] - 15 Jeintaund (Uthgardt #4) - DC 15 [Cha] - 12
Yimm's attack on Devin = Attack: 22 Damage: 11 less 4 for the Bane but Devin is able to just get his shield up in time to block the blow.
Then two more griffons land and another barbarian - Hronimm (Uthgardt #1) - moves to attack Illezenya Attack: 15 Damage: 13 less 3 for the Bane while another Jeintaund (Uthgardt #4) moves to attack Mullo Attack: 18 Damage: 9 less 3 for the Bane but a gust of wind suddenly shifted the airship causing Jeintaund to miss!
(OOC: ignore the cheat flag - the attack result on Devin was a total of 18 (including the Bane) the attack result on Illezenya was a crit '25' - 4 (Bane) for a result of 21 doing 19 HP of damage the attack result on Mullo was a '17' modified by '-3' (Bane) resulting in a miss)
D.O.R.K. - you're up
All the griffons have now landed on the deck and Devin, Illezenya and Mullo are all facing a barbarian.
What did the barbarian say (Mullo only)
in Bothi "let's see how well these worm lovers fight, eh?"
(OOC: Honest the system did raise a cheat flag!!!)

Presumably if able to reach the stairway at the very least by the time the tribesman landed, D.O.R.K but spares a few moments considering targets before unhesitatingly summon a spectral version of her old battle axe to cleave into the side of Devin's attacker. Then just as swiftly as she raised a hand, a part of split and reshaped itself into a palm cannon covered in sigils that immediately shot a bolt of condensed frost energy the very same tribesman's way. "You will cease and desist or you will be terminated."
Bonus Action: Cast (4th level)Spiritual Weapon and swipe at Yimm. (Lethal)Spiritual Axe - Attack: 9 Damage: 16 Force Damage.
OR(If needing to dash this turn to get topside, presume she's at least to the immediate left of the stairs leading up to the wheel before casting and striking with ehr spell).
