OU812 keeps grinning after his smell receptors senses the malodorous content to the west. “The easy way is for wimps. My algorithms are telling me it would be more fun to head this way” he deadpans, while pointing west. 

“Very well then,” Alessandra gingerly places her hand on the robots shoulder. “Lead the way, big guy.” The hand is then very quickly retreated back to her person. 

Looking back before they left Danitriel commented "Oh yeah, good thinking!" to Azrael on his note.

Your average history roll tells you that readying a fire spell against a vampire isn't the worst choice you've made today. Your brain gives you a thumbs up.

On down the west hall..

At the end of a long hall is a 50-foot-square room with five pillars made of mortared humanoid bones, painted black. It's dark, and difficult to see the end of the room with the pillars in the way. The floors of the alcoves are littered with the gnawed bones of past meals. There is something in this room.

"Hmm, you are correct, robot, they're just missing my throne of human bones and stakes littered with severed male heads and this would be home sweet home."

A brain with a beak and tentacles appears from one of the alcoves in this room. If you rolled higher than a 12 then you see it and are not surprised. Lythril’s history roll reveals nothing of relevance.

Having spotted what appears to be one of those brain things they had met before, Azrael's Readyied [Spell]Firebolt[Spell] would fly, illuminating the space, his staff still giving him just enough light to see nearby. Flamare! he says quietly, hoping to not attract more attention from farther back.

Dani sees the grell too, just as Azrael’s firebolt slams into the soft fleshy brain matter of the grell, causing it to squawk in pain. That was Azrael’s reaction so as soon as we have Bearianne’s perception ill start the surprise round.

1. Surprise round

Ok, let me work this out. The two grells are trying to catch you all by surprise. Some of you guys spot one grell floating out of an alcove ahead among the black pillars. The other grell who got the nat20 surprise floats directly above the door you just entered, attacking Lythril first in the surprise round. It will return to it's normal initiative score after the surprise round. We will resolve this surprise round now with Dani, Raiik, OU812, Alessandra and Azrael.

REMEMBER: You guys have a passive perception score you can always use INSTEAD of rolling to make a perception check. Alessandra and Azrael have used this option. Obviously, if you want to try and get a higher score, you would need to roll and use that number.
