Ok, lets proceed to attributes. I gave this option in my tabletop game and I'm going to do the same here:
Everyone roll for stats. 4d6 for each stat, drop lowest. Once everyone rolls, then all of you decide if you want to keep rolled stats, or switch to point buy. The decision must be unanimous. If one person doesn't like his rolled stats, then everyone will switch to point buy. (My tabletop ended up going point buy. I'm curious to see if how it works out here.)
Beegred Thornpost - Lvl 8 Halfling Ranger - Out of the Abyss by Kerrec Drusk - Lvl 8 Half-Orc Life Cleric - The Long Road: Dragon Heist by Mingofaust (player & current DM) Hunferho Aelorothi - Lvl 5 Half-Elf Bard/Rogue - Baldur's Gate: Descent Into Avernus (by Pokepaladdy) DM - Frontier City of Nunkreet (ended)
I'm not thrilled with the results. That being said, if everyone else rolled good and is happy with their scores, I can work with what I've got.
I encourage team play during the module, but here I would prefer you be selfish. Make absolutely sure you're willing to have weaker attributes compared to the rest of your party.
Since Wizard isn’t advised, how about Sorcerer or Bard?
(Kerrec mentioned "Wizards are going to be one of the hardest classes to play at the beginning of this module."
If you like the idea of a Wizard, sounds like we just have to give you a little more help through the beginning.)

Wizard just comes with a warning of increased difficulty. You can still play it.
As for the other two choices, I think the Sorcerer would be a little bit easier, but no substantial difference.
I'll pass on the Wizard. I don't have a strong preference for class so it's not an issue for me. The Druid sockets well with an idea in my head for this character. How would the Druid fare?
CoffeeNoise, are you sticking with your rolled stats?
Next step: I want you all to decide if your characters are familiar with the Underdark, or not?
Nekrean: As a Half-Elf (Drow), I'm going to rule that you would not have been welcome or allowed to live with any of the Underdark races, so your life was spent on the surface.

Druid would work fine. Same race?
Yes, please. Half-elf Druid.
