Inspiration granted.
You're going to have to be more specific about what you are trying to insight check? Do you want to know something specific like if one of the NPC's is lying? Or are you trying to read an NPC's to know if they're trustworthy... if so, who's?
I'm confused, so you are all probably confused too. Here's a graphic showing your choices, let me know here in OOC where you are choosing to go. Obviously the PC's have to make a unanimous choice.
For Tozer's perception check: The waterfall is all the sound you hear besides your own voices. The only lights are the three dim glowing dots. Other than that, it is eerily calm.
Edit: Oh, and if you take a route that passes a city you do not want to enter, you don't need to enter it.
The map definitely helps. Although, I am confused about the Kuo-Toa city. Shuushar mentioned he had to go to Sloobludop, but made it sound like he had to go to Darklake first. (Unless he felt that the path to Darklake and from there to Sloobludop, was somehow safer than the northern passage along the circle to Sloobludop.)
Everyone wants to avoid Menzoberranzan, and most of us have a bad feeling about Buppido and the duergar city of Gracklstugh. So the northern and southern arcs along the circle are out.
My guess is the PCs will go west to DarkLake, then find a way around it without going through it (which is what Sarith was saying) to get to Neverlight Grove. After Stool is dumped in the Grove, we then take the circle clockwise to Blingdenstone... Not the most direct, but it avoids the two cities we want to stay away from, helps out Stool, and I think we agreed that we wanted to end up at Bling.
Does that sound right?

...if you take a route that passes a city you do not want to enter, you don't need to enter it.
It seems Menzoberranzan can be avoided if we were to travel north, likewise with Gracklstugh if we were to go south. I'm not arguing for any particular route, however.
Sarith won't get near the Darklake and Shuushar will navigate the Darklake but insist on stopping in Sloobludop first. Sloobludop can be accessed by land from the north route, but that would not be his first choice.
As Tozer said you can skip entering a city, so Sarith is going to take the south route and bypass Gracklstugh to get to Neverlight Grove.
North, the most direct route to Blingdenstone (but ignoring Menzo on the way); he's confident Stool is in good hands with Valthana
South, indirect route to Blingdenstone
Traversing the region known as Darklake
As the player, I don't want to bog down this decision-making process any further. I can roleplay my dwarf barbarian according to whichever route is chosen.
3 votes for the south route with a destination of Neverlight Grove. Shuushar will remain adamant about visiting Sloobludop first and will make his own way.
Jimjar and Eldeth will follow the south route IF the destination is Blingdenstone and not Gracklstugh. Ront will be too cowardly to go anywhere without a big group.
Just waiting for Quasimodal to agree or suggest an alternative.
I'm fine with the decision.

The direct route to those places go through the Darklake. He's not going that way, but he will still go to Neverlight Grove.
Gotcha.

I updated my post. She doesn't trust Buppido. #emodrow

Out tonight folks.
Sick. Crashing... If I wake up later I'll post, otherwise will have to wait until tomorrow.

Yeah, need unanimous consensus here to move on.
If Valthana needs to return Stool home, it makes the most sense to go south. That's my vote.

Narstin prefers headnig to Neverlight grove to help see Stool there safely

Taking this route, the NPC cast will be:
Sarith, Valthana, Stool, (Derendil), (Ferriman), Buppido (until Gracklstugh), Jimjar, Eldeth and Ront.
(/sigh) :P
Haha. Glad we could shrink that so much for you.

Sorry for the slower pace guys. New position at work is keeping me from updating frequently.
