For Skameros: Beegred should have mentioned being 25-30 feet away, so the Mound can't move and attack the same round. Moving to T15 means he will be walloped.
I assume Eldath and Skameros are Ready-ing an attack, if the Mound moves within range? Or are they using Dodge?

Can you remind me why you're rolling 2d6 damage for your bow and scimitar attacks? Also, you forgot to use Dread Ambusher on your first attack of this encounter?
(Post 1695: Beegred hears a tiny bit of squishing under Narstin's boots, and blurts out, "THE MOUND WILL HEAR US COMING IF YOU DON"T QUIET YOUR BOOTS!")
Beegred is too far away to charge into melee range, so he will move slightly closer (X21 to W20), cast Hunter's Mark, then shoot an arrow.
He will also suggest out loud to Derendil and Skameros to wait for it to come to us, instead of charging at it.
(I'll pre-post. I'm assuming the Mound double moves from O14 to R16, to get into melee range of Skam and Deren.)
If the Mound does not move (for some reason), then Beegred will take another arrow shot.
If the Mound moves closer, then Beegred will drop his bow, draw a short sword, and use his 25' movement to get to S18, or T16 if that makes more sense.
Attack: 22 + bless 4 Damage: 20 (EDIT: Damage should be 11. Inserting the Bless appears to confuse the critical calculator.)

1d6 for weapon and 1d6 for Hunter’s Mark. I’m combining them so it will be taken care of if there is a critical hit.
For Dread Ambusher, I misread the text. Thought it had to be a melee attack on the first turn of combat, when it is “weapon attack”. My fault, so let’s just continue. (I’ll try to remember that for the next combat.)

Short rest before the Grick? That will let Jimjar and Derendil use "hit dice", so Narstin will still have spell slots.

I suspect they are readying an attack then - Skameros has the benefit of reach over the mound.

Probably busy? We had another holiday weekend here in the states - almost everyone had Monday off

Holiday here too.
I'm back to work today. I will give Narstin the day to get some posts in seeing as the weekend was a holiday.

Question - not that it will matter probably on Skaremos' attack - but is the Bless still in effect?

Hunter's mark... I knew it was something simple.
Yeah I had to re-read my Divine Fury - its the first creature I hit on each of my turns takes radiant damage - I have to remember that.

I'll give Narstin a couple more hours to post, otherwise I will roll his spiritual weapon + Sacred Flame and attack with Derendil.
Sorry, I'm busy too. Will update Narstin/Derendil's actions tonight if he hasn't by then.
No worries - I'm off Friday - Monday so I may not be available to post very often - but I will try to check in when I can.

Those would indeed be my actions :D. not a lot else to do unless I want to get into melee with narstin or need to heal someone.
1 dead Shambling Mound. It barely scratched the party, although you did have the element of surprise.
Are you all going to try the Grick Alpha? What's the plan now?
I forget - are we applying the XP ourselves, right? So it's +300 for each of us?
