Surmising that Criella would have warned them about any sort of guards, Vanja concludes that these twig-men are an unexpected threat. And a threat that she is actually reasonably equipped to deal with, no less. Stepping back a bit to keep her distance from the menacing little creatures, she thinks back on some of her early lessons with Granny Chula, the clan elder who had taken it upon herself to start teaching Vanja the old ways.
With an ancient uttered word, Vanja snaps her fingers...causing a small sphere of flame to spring to life in her hand. She then immediately throws this flame at the nearest of the twig-men that Drusk is attempting to keep occupied.
Once that is done, she calls out to Criella, "Uhmm, Criella? I assume these are new?"

OOC > On the Help action, while it can be used in combat to give advantage for attacking a particular creature, it cannot be used to give DISadvantage to the creature attacking a party member. So, no, you can't warn Jorin to give the stick guy disadvantage.
To give Jorin (or someone else) advantage when attacking a twiggy dude, Hildigrim has to be within 5ft of the monster he is distracting (making himself a target), but then shouting "Watch out, Jorin!" is acceptable, imho, to distract it.
DDP, Hildigrim was going to back away from the fight, so he would not be close enough (within 5ft of an enemy) to offer advantage with the Help action. Would you like to change your intended action?
Actually, I decided that Hildigrim's shout has distracted the stick man chasing him onto the bridge (see below) enough that the next person to attack it will have advantage. Probably not Jorin, however, as he is too far away.

On the left side, Drusk and Vanja, on their way to check the sheep, turn at the noise. Criella, also on that side, turns a beat too late, and gasps at the approaching figures.
Drusk steps forward, swinging his shield into place to protect the other two, and brings Joybringer down in a mighty arc (17), crushing one of the stick men into splinters as it reached for him (6 dmg). Vanja takes a measured step back and snaps her fingers to produce a small ball of flame, which she hurls at one of the stick men (11), just missing it. The flame puffs into smoke. Two more stick men charge at Drusk, one missing as he sidesteps it (10), the other scraping its wooden claws along his shield (16). The fourth creature goes wide around Drusk and slaps at Vanja, missing badly (4).
On the right side of the bridge, Jorin turns, startled, as Hildigrim shouts, “Watch out, Jorin!” Two of the figures charge up to Jorin, missing him badly with their sweeping arms (5, 9). Mrs. Brinarei backpedals away from a third approaching stick man, muttering something to herself while Mortimer yowls and pounces on it. She speaks some words and gestures as a spectral, skeletal hand manifests and latches onto the stick man (20), causing it to shudder and collapse in a lifeless bundle (4 dmg). The fourth creature tries to wrap up Hildigrim while he jumps back onto the bridge, shouting, “Criella, call off your guard, please!” But it misses the nimble halfling (12).
Vanja calls out, "Uhmm, Criella? I assume these are new?" Criella cries out, "These are none of my doing!" as she backs away further towards her cottage.
