"Interesting. So you say these dragon can prepare anything? How about pancakes, bacon and biscuits?" Aryn asks on their way back to the dining hall. "Ooo and Apple or strawberry preserves."
As you enter into the dining hall the dragons pick up Aryn's order and two flutter off disappearing through one of the holes at the top of the wall. You all sit at the large wooden table and about 5 minutes later three dragons glide through the holes carrying plates of pancakes, bacon and biscuits. A moment later two more dragons fly through with small ceramic pitchers of fresh syrup, margarine and various fruit preserves. With everything assembled one tiny gold dragon breathes out a small jet of flames at the bottom of the ceramic jug containing the syrup warming it. Three dragons return to their kitchen posts while the original two who were waiting in the dining room wait patiently for more orders. You each give your orders for food and within a few minutes they are brought out with a similar display of balance, and precision. The cuisine is delicious despite the unlikely chefs and after the long day of travel you exhale a large sigh of relief.
(Feel free to RP more of the night in the mansion. When you are ready to travel for the next day I will need: a d12 roll, a Survival check, two perception checks and to know how many hours you will be traveling.)
(@Gaelin & Jinara- let me know what you two are planning to do spells wise. Jinara- if you use control weather roll a d10)
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
"My goodness Gaelin. This is outstanding use of your arcane abilities. You have really put in the detail of your craft. it is evident in your thoughtfulness in each room." Jinara says astounded at the wonder he is seeing.
At dinner, "Let us plan for tomorrow. I am capable of manipulating the weather in our favor tomorrow, but know that I will be a bit spent arcanely speaking if we run into anything of great threat. Thoughts?" Jinara continues to push bacon and biscuits into his mouth.
*Next day*
Jinara will give guidance for the first roll of whomever is make a check (add a d4). (My vote is full steam ahead if Gaelin is going to cast tiny hut)
"Alright. I'm impressed. These are amazing!" Aryn says devouring her pancakes. "I think... if you can... help us go faster... then let's do it." Aryn replies to Jinara with her mouth full of biscuits.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Gaelin will agree with Aryn's sentiments and say, "Let's do it. I can protect us from the elements with my magical dome."
D12: 6 Survival: 15 + 4
To start the day, Gaelin will cast Find the Path then ritual cast Tiny Hut on top of Valeera so that it safely encompasses everyone in the group except for Valeera.
Once we take off, Jinara will begin casting Control Weather (which should coincide with Tiny Hut) such that we maximize our travel. (Xtra. Since Gaelin is casting Tiny Hut to adjust for the heat, can refocus part of my arcane energy on additional windage? Is that a thing? lol)
A large smile would spread across Mucor's face at the sight of his room. He would place his hands on the tree and warped wood, feeling its smoothness and taking a large breath through his nose. he would exhale with a small snort before tossing his bag on the bed and making his way back towards the dining area. When Aryn orders her food, Mucor's eyes would go wide as he thinks of the food possibilities. He would then immediately start rattling off food items as quickly as he could think of them. The elf would sound a bit like a kid in a candy store as he politely makes his demands. When the food arrives he would give the dragons a nod before digging into the bounty. Crumbs would falll from his mouth as he quickly took bites from what seemed to be six different main courses. "If you wanted, I could help with the weather too.." Mucor would say as a few more crumbs hit the table... "Otherwise I can try to bolster Valeera so she doesn't get too worn out during our travels.... It is a shame that we cannot somehow magically see out destination. Then I could look for a big tree and we could just pop out right where we wanted." The elf would finish before continuing to shove food in his mouth.
You each enjoy a comfortable slumber in the magical mansion Gaelin created and exit the portal into the hot and humid rainforest meadow. You climb aboard Valeera's back and begin your climb into the air. Gaelin casts his first spell pinpointing the direction of travel for the day then begins conjures up a dome on Valeera's back that locks magically into place upon her back. The air inside cools slightly and becomes less humid. Jinara extends his head and hands outside the dome and begins casting his own spell. You watch as the clouds above you begin to rapidly move away. Trees sway with the wind that blows in behind you and slowly gathers momentum. At the expiration of 30 minutes you see small and medium sized trees leaning heavily and being blown over by the hurricane force winds that spur Valeera forward. The harsh winds flow harmlessly against the dome but bring up silt and sand that sting against Valeera and Jinara's hands and face. The first two hours passes relatively smoothly, all things considered, and Valeera seems to be handling the weather quite well.
Jinara- The dome does a good bit to protect you from the wind but still the constant howling wind is near deafening and stings your skin. After the first 30 minutes you take 3 bludgeoning damage from the wind every ten minutes. Make a DC10 (4 hours-63 total damage taken), DC 12 (6 hours-99 total dmg) & DC 14 (7 hours-117 total dmg) con save. If you fail any of these saves you give into the pain for just a moment bringing your face and hands into the dome causing the spell to end. At the end of 8 hours you will have taken a total of 135 damage while maintaining control of the spell.
Gaelin- As soon as the dome pops into existence your Find the Path spell ends. After the first 2 hours of travel you check the local landmarks against the map and calculate you are roughly 150-160 miles away from the Withering Peaks. If you continue your pace of travel for 7 more hours, you will get within 40-50 miles.
Gaelin & Aryn- You would both notice the destruction the wind is causing on the surrounding area. To the west a large dust cloud forms creating a towering wave of sand. To the east you see trees toppled and the river breaking its banks and flooding low lying areas.
(@Jinara- Yes, the damage is constant as it would be if you stuck your hands & face out of a bunker in the middle of a hurricane for 8 hours. Just be glad you rolled low on the d10. The con save is only to ensure you don't lose concentration. I'm sure your buddies will heal you...)
(Will post later today or tomorrow to give the others a chance to post.)
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Gaelin will use one charge of his staff seven times to heal Jinara's hands every hour. Looking around he worries for a few moments but hope that no one is caught up in the winds. "We're making good time. If we keep going we will reach the mountains before dark.
Aryn will just try to make the best of the cramped space with Mucor. While looking out at the storm she'll ask Mucor, "Is this something that can be healed quickly?" motioning to the flooding and sandstorm.
Looking at the destruction taking place, he would let out a small sigh before looking to Aryn. "It will take a while for the forest to recover, but the damage done should help the forest once the storm passes. The weak or injured trees will fall, making room for new healthier plants to grow. The fallen trees will provide food and shelter to many of the inhabitants of the forest, and will eventually break down and feed the surrounding plants so that they may thrive." he would say before giving a reassuring smile. The destruction is hard to watch but... everything will turn out alright in the end. If I was concerned about permanent damage I could always return to help repair the forest at a later time."
With the help of Gaelin, Jinara is able to maintain his spell while Valeera soars through the air. At the expiration of 8 hours the dome vanishes and the storm slowly dies down pelting you with sand for about 10 minutes. After another 30 minutes the wind completely abates and you can see the gentle rolling mountain chain of the Withering Peaks in the distance. There is a distinct shift in the temperature of the air as you approach the snow capped mountains and as you get closer you begin to see your breath on each exhale. You travel for another hour and a half before you reach the base of the northern edge of the mountains. While most of the mountain tops are relatively smooth, one boasts a large basalt column that juts 2-300 feet above the eroding hillside below. Atop the cliff sits a relatively flat mound of earth covered in a thick layer of snow with a scattering of evergreen trees. The fading sunlight behind you makes it difficult to see but Aryn spots a few rising columns of smoke on the far side of one of the mountains about 3 miles southeast.
Mucor's words put her at ease. She figured nature could handle more than Jinara was dishing out to it but hearing it first hand was better than not knowing. She'd spend the rest of her time on the trip thinking of what to eat in the portal mansion thingy while trying to still keep an eye on things. "Guys, there's smoke over there. Could be them.Torq, want to check with whatever you said you had?" Aryn says pointing to the smoke plumes.
"Interesting. So you say these dragon can prepare anything? How about pancakes, bacon and biscuits?" Aryn asks on their way back to the dining hall. "Ooo and Apple or strawberry preserves."

“I can only sense what’s going on within 3 miles. Once we get to the mountains I might be able to help more.” Torq adds.
(@JInara- nope. The windage is already built into the spell. I assume you're going with storm force windage?)
(Will post after lunch.)
(it was worth a shot lol yes. Max speed)
(@JInara- always is. lol)

Con save 1 = 20

Con save 3 = 20
Con save 4 = 20 (adding Davara's Favor to this one) 6
So I still take that damage correct?

Aryn will just try to make the best of the cramped space with Mucor. While looking out at the storm she'll ask Mucor, "Is this something that can be healed quickly?" motioning to the flooding and sandstorm.
(I think I will still be alive just taking the blunt amount of damage, but to use Gaelin's every hour healing appropriately see the hour table below)
Damage. Healing. Difference
Hour 1 = 16. - 15. =. 1 Damage
Hour 2 =. 16 - 10. = 6 Damage (7 total)
Hour 3 =. 16. - 9. = 7 Damage (14 total)
Hour 4 =. 15. - 16. =. -1 Damage (13 total)
Hour 5 = 18. - 14. =. 4 Damage (17 total)
Hour 6 = 18. - 15. =. 3 Damage (20 total)
Hour 7 = 18. - 13. =. 5 Damage (25 total)
Hour 8 = 18. - 0. = 18 Damage (43 total)

I'd like to know: The location of the most powerful orc, the location of any villages, the location of any other orcs.
