"A cult? ...and who knows if this "L" has been helping them plan more of these attacks or not."
Edra grows quiet as she tries to process everything, seemingly lost to her own thoughts as a somber air settles over her. After a few moments pass, she moves to take one of the torches from the wall and heads for the the door, pausing to toss the pouches of coin taken from the slain Orcs onto the table nearest the group. "Our prey was kind enough to leave funds to supply the hunt, at least... I counted 13 gold and 14 silver pieces in there." Then to the Gnome, she says, "I will search the forge and see if your Gaeryn and Rayna may have hidden nearby. If... they were indeed taken with the others... then we will find them."
With that, Edra slips into the night and makes her way to the forge to search for any sign of Gaeryn and Rayna before retiring to her room for the night.

(I wasn't sure which roll would be needed there, so I hope that's okay. Happy New Year, by the way, everyone! Hope the holidays have been treating you all well and you've all had good ones.)

Violet will follow behind Efra out of the Inn, giving a playful, yet wave to everyone as she goes.
Using her innate vision, she walks a little out of town to see if she can find the Orc's trail or some other clue as to where they went.
Investigation: 3
Once she's done, regardless of the results, she'll return to the inn and crash in the nicest own room she can find, seeing as how she paid for it ahead of time. Not to mention, she risked her own butt for these people.
Fear flashes in his eyes as Quilqwen mentions the slain, “They were slain?…” But quickly relaxes as he thinks about what was said “Oh thank the gods… My name is Scilynsmir, but most call me Sil.”
Before any of you leave to sleep or investigate, the barkeep comes over to you from a group of people. “Obviously you won’t need to pay for tonight or for food and drink. And we were wondering if you were going after them? Many have been taken… We’ll have coin and services to pay you with on your return” His voice then drops lower so only the group can hear it “I’ve managed to convince the mercs to help ‘guard’ this place, I thought they’d only hinder you given their… performance. Besides they were kicked out of their last group so they can’t be that good.”
As the coin hits the table Quilqwen's focus shift over. He opens one of the pouches and takes a coin out looking at it intently. Then does the same to a coin from the other pouch.
"Gold and silver.....pieces? The man at the bar mentioned these. He said they were the....cost? They are quite pretty. What do you do with them? How do they work?"
Estellen turns to the barkeep, "Of course we're going after them. I am at the very least. What do you take me for, some sort of snob who's too good to get his shoes in the muck?", he says snobbishly.
You’re given the best rooms, causing some disgruntled murmurs from those who have been evicted from them, but none make anything of it. For those used to luxury these rooms aren’t bad and you’d be happy enough to stay in them for a few nights. For those not used to luxury, these are pretty good, maybe even better than you’ve ever stayed in (in terms of personal bedrooms).
You all wake a little before dawn. Even within the walls of the tavern the cold air seeps in and the windows are slightly frosted.
When you head back into the main area there is a strong smell of good cooking and the fire is lit. Most of the people who stayed here overnight are clustered around the fire, leaving little to no room for others, however this room is significantly warmer than the bedrooms.
A cooked meal is brought out for each of you as you’re seen and placed on the bar.
By the door you all notice 3 large bags resting against the wall.
Quilqwen takes the food. Again only really eating the bread, fruit and nuts. But sampleling eveything. He then returned the mostly full plate and cup. “Thank you for sharing you breakfast. Your food is quite interesting. Do you happpen to have any seeds, nuts, or berries? Oh and that wonderful drink you had out last night?!? The brown one.”
(OOC - as a note after someone explained the gold and silver I took 3 pieces of each.)
(OOC: Doc took just 1 gp and 2 sp to help bolster his purse in case they need to pay for more food along the way.)
Doc wakes after a good, long rest. He appreciates the hospitality he's been afforded thus far, but he remains ever focused on the task at hand. After putting together a simple breakfast for himself, he thanks the innkeeper and the rest of the staff, but gets right down to business soon after finishing up his meal.
"Well...how should we...proceed?" he says slowly, later mentally taking note of the bags resting near the wall. He'll walk over after breakfast and open them.
As she makes her way downstairs, the smell of cooking food meets Edra's nose. She takes a moment to savor the scent as she pauses to pull her fur mantle further around herself to combat the chill in the air. Though the events of the previous night were still fresh on her mind, the Shifter was eager to fill her belly with a warm meal... especially one she didn't have to hunt for herself.
Edra finds a seat at the bar and accepts the plate set before her with an appreciative smile. "This smells wonderful, thank you," she says, before helping herself to what's on her plate starting with whatever cooked meats were offered.
"We could speak with the townsfolk," Edra offers. She pauses for a moment, thinking, before speaking up again. "There is a man, a survivor of another raid not long ago. I was told he was brought to the temple here to recover. I had... hoped to ask him what he knew."
((Edra will take 1 gold and 2 silver as well. If there's anything left after everyone's taken their share, we could maybe start a group fund for supplies?))
"Well, I wouldn't think that the general townsfolk would know anything about an orc base, but perhaps your man can help us out? Oh, and we haven't made proper introductions yet, it must have slipped my mind in the chaos of the night. My name is Estellen Undellion, of house Undellion in the City of Bones"
Finishing his meal, Estellen will walk over to the door and examine the bags, and then speaks to the rest of the party, "I am not well versed in tracking savages through the countryside, perhaps one of you has applicable skills in that department? I suggest that we leave as soon as we can. If those orcs were part of a raiding party it'd be wise for us to intercept them on their way home rather than try to fight their entire horde. Barkeep, is there anywhere we could acquire mounts of some sort?"
Doc will momentarily turn away from the bags he's looking into, answering Estllen. "I am called Doc. Thank you for your help yesterday, friend. And I agree, we must get moving as soon as possible." Then he'll go back to checking what else is inside the bags.
Answering Estellen, “Something that may help if it takes more than day to find them. Each bag has a 2 person tent in it, it’s all we can offer at short notice that we thought might help.”
Answering Quilqwen, “Certainly, it’s ale brewed from just outside town. So it’s extra fresh. As for seeds, nuts, and berries, sorry no. We don’t really stock that sort of thing here. There are some berry bushes around, but I’m not sure if they’re safe to eat” He pours one and hands it over.
Answering Estellen, “What horses and ponies we did have were either killed, taken or both by the Orcs…"
Inside each bag is a two person tent, a mess kit, and a tinderbox.
”Thank you...oh I just realized in the commotion last night I failed to learn your name. I am Quilqwen.”
I look closely at the drink. I looks different than what I was expecting, it not wanting to be rude I take a drink. The feathers on my head stand in a crest. I take two more large swigs. And set it back down.
”This is fantastic! You called it ale? It reminds be of the Sloe Nectar we make back home, but also like that wonderful soft food with the crusty outside you have! I don’t think it is what you had out last night but I will take it thank you. And if you have no berries or such do have any more of the soft crusty food?”

Violet shrugs at the barkeep's request, "I'm, all for it, not like I have much better to do."
After saying that she turns to leave, "I'll be right back. Don't have to much fun without me~" Casting a playful wink at the group she leaves."
