It looked as though whether to stay or go had been decided for them with an impressive blaze of fire. Jubilant pulled off her backpack, laying it down in the roots of a nearby tree. She started walking a careful perimeter, glancing out into the woods. Although it seemed unlikely they were in danger, she couldn't help some slight caution in checking for animals or monsters that could pose a threat. (Perception 18) As she scouted, she glanced back at Strife as he examined the stone. "Anything interesting?" she asked curiously.
Strife would toss the stone to Jubilant. "I think it may have been important to the tribe but I cannot tell if it is actually magical or just a fancy rock" The kobold would say as he extends his hands out towards the fire and warms them up.
Niner takes a few steps away from camp, patrolling the proximity. With a cold, deep and metallic voice he speaks to the group: "Systems fully functional. I will check the surroundings, maybe those gryphons come back soon"
Seeing the group dig into the last of the rations, Strife would pull out a piece of meat and begin chewing on it while looking at the fire. "So we heading to town then?" The kobold would say casually, looking down at his feet before glancing back towards the group. "I sure would have liked that gold from killing a gryphon but maybe we can convince someone to pay us for getting rid of that kobold infestation?" He will say with a smile.
The fire burns well, and bright. Tossing the stone to Jubilant, Strife strikes a more comfortable pose in front of the blazing tinder. Damien looks up from her meal, stating her concern again with heading into town. With the curiosity in hand, Jubilant walks away from the campfire to strut the perimeter. Though normally on the oblivious side of things, she maintains a constant vigil in her search. Having taken note of his comrade's initiative, Niner raises himself from the fire with a soft wooden *creak*, marking out a path of his own to watch.
Jubilant and Niner take up patrol. They both see, about the same time, a pack of hungry wolves lurking the trees. Having noticed that you have spotted them, the wolves quickly turn and scurry away... for the time being.
Jubilant gives the stone a passing glance, not taking the time to inspect it more carefully before tucking it into her backpack for the time being. She noted the wolves with a look of concern, shooting Niner a quick frown. She shuffled back over to fire, taking a seat near her cat. "Going into town may be the lesser of two evils, ja? Seems there are some peckish-looking wolves nearby. Might come back when we're sleeping."

Strife will turn to Damien and smile. "I appreciate your concern.... I figure I could always hang out and hide in a bush or something on the outskirts of town while you all go in and round up some more supplies... maybe another decient paying job..." The kobold would say with a smile. "Perhaps some day my own magical abilities will allow me to disguise myself so that we don't have these... inconveniences... as often" he will mumble aloud looking at the brass colored scales covering his hands and lower arms.
With a reflex, Niner quickly goes into a defensive position. Shield at the front with his longsword ready to strike. A few seconds go by until his stances loosens and he puts back his weapon, still looking into the direction where the wolfs were moments ago. He turns his head to Jubilant: "They shouldn't be a thread so soon. We should head back to camp and guard from there."
With those words, he turns back in the direction of the flickering fire. "We may want to hunt to gather food rather than enter unknown villages. We spotted a pack of Wolfes that might give all of you enough strength to carry on for a while longer." he says as he sits down with a heavy stomp next to the flame.
((a little bit of a character challenge is always fun, haha
"Well, I vote we go. We need to get more rations anyway, and killing a pack of wolves sounds... difficult." Not to mention, Jubilant would rather sleep in a nice dry bed. Or at the very least, finally get around to buying a bedroll, or even just a blanket. She shuffled closer to the fire. "If we don't want to leave Strife out of town we could try hiding his face under a thick hood? You're about the size of a little gnome, I think."
"Maybe you fit under this." Niner opens his backpack and takes out a rather large piece of grey cloth with many black stains on it and throws it to Strife. It is his polishing cloth to take care of the metal his body is partially made out of with the black stuff being old oil. "Just don't make it dirty." There was no irony in his voice.
Strife will smile at Damien. "We are called monsters for a reason.... sure their are other kobold out there that serve masters intent on doing good.. most are perfectly happy carrying out the evil deeds of their oppressors..." The brass kobold will stand and twist his claw towards the fire, causing the flame to transform into that of a monster... "We all have choices in life.. and those that choose to follow the path of evil should be destroyed " Strife will say as he clenches his fists and the fire creature erupts in a bright flash and the fire returns to normal. A moment later he will let out a quick laugh. "Now if it were possible to kill a man by talking them to death.. well I would probably be one of the most dangerous creatures in the realm" He would say with a toothy grin.
As the large warforged drops the dirty cloth on him, he will fight a moment to get out from under it. Once free he would laugh a bit. "I do have a hooded cloak of my own you know... but an additional mask or gloves to cover the remaining exposed bits might be useful..." The kobold will say with a grin, attempting to fold up the big sheet.
"I am all for getting some fresh meat" the kobold will say once finishes
"I'm afraid my disguise spell only works on myself, and I don't have gloves or a mask," Jubilant said. She carefully avoided his brief speech on choice and the path of evil—not out of disagreement, not exactly, but rather to avoid the frustration that welled up inside her at the thought. Her tail flickered back and forth slightly as she sat in quiet thought. "Even if we do spend the night here, I do think we should at the very least make a stop in the town tomorrow, ja? Even discounting food, we really do need the supplies. So we stay, then. Who's standing guard?"
The sun begins to falter in the sky, and before long you're left with but a pale moonlight and a campfire to provide you visibility. Whatever you're going to decide, you feel like you should do it soon. A guard will be needed before long if camp is to be made.
Jubilant prop her backpack up against the tree, laying against it for a makeshift pillow. Before she could forget, she peeled back the bark of her tree and used a dagger to chip off a small piece of wood for spell use later. "I can take the second watch. Wake me when you're ready to sleep!" Stroking Posie, she laidback with a yawn. "Godnatt, everyone."
