"I don't know. It looks like folks are just taking whatever they need," Jubilant said curiously. She approached, pausing nearer the cart, and taking a moment to examine it for anything suspicious, like signs the cart had been sabotaged or stolen. Investigation: 8 She glanced over at one of the folks filling a knapsack, raising a hand in greeting. It seemed unlikely he worked here, but might as well try and get some information, right? "Excuse me fine sir!" she said, grabbing the nearest item off the cart and holding it up. "Can you mayhaps tell me the price of this?"
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Strife would shuffle over next to her and examine the cart for any interesting items while listening to what the villager had to say to his companion. The kobold would have to work very hard to keep himself from touching everything on the cart... especially anything shiny.. but doing so would mean pulling his hands from his robes and he couldn't risk anyone seeing his hands....
"Oh, uh, it don't cost nothin'... Just don't take somethin' ya don't right need. Never know if another might be espyin' it fierce." You immediately notice that the reigns have been severed on the cart - part of it is also damaged, as if overturned.
STRIFE
You see before you a myriad of baubles and coins - a few sapphires, an onyx, a couple diamonds, and at least a hundred gold. As you peer the treasures, you notice a few people come up and take a few coins. A strange, cloaked man takes one of the diamonds.
Strife's eyes will go wide a moment as the kobold bites his lower lip looking at the cart. Gazing upon what in his mind was an actual treasure sparked something within the kobold.. something within the dragon blood flowing through his veins... Strife would look quickly around and attempt to snatch a saphire, a diamond, and a handful of gold as quickly as he could without drawing much attention and quickly stuff them into his robes. "This is quite a horde they have here...." The kobold would say to Jubilant without looking at her breathlessly as he continued to watch the cart and then the strange man that took the other diamond.. "You know Jubilant.. wizards and sorcerers use diamonds for spells.. I wonder if that guy is one.." The kobold would say nodding his hooded head towards the figure as he walks away.
Slight of hand check to grab those items without making a scene... 17 arcana check to notice if anything in the cart might be magical by chance... 13
Jubilant seemed mostly uninterested in the coins and jewels. She'd seen it all before, honestly, so she was far more absorbed in taking a look at the cart itself. "Well, spellcasters aren't the most unusual thing we've seen. What I'm more interested in is how this cart got here," she said, tapping his shoulder and subtly pointing at the damage. If this town or anyone in it was stealing merchant carts, it may not be as interesting as cursed wolf boys, but it was still certainly something worth investigating. Still, so long as they were there, might as well pick up some supplies. She started looking over the cart, specifically looking for weapons, pieces of string, bedrolls or tents, warmer clothing, or possibly more rations for the journey ahead. (Investigation if necessary: 12)

Jubilant/Tiefling/Warlock/The Guardians of Kinloran
You manage to pocket the goods without any trouble - and while doing so, you spot a small lamp with a lens configuration that looks like a sleepy eyeball.
JUBILANT
You manage to find a 30 ft. rope, and a few (7) arrows.
Strife will move around the wagon to the lantern and pick it up before playing 10 torches from his pack on to the wagon as a replacement. "This lantern looks pretty interesting..." Strife will say examining it closely in his hands, hunched over it before attaching it to his belt and slipping his hands back in his pockets.
(how many gold coins did he grab with his handful?)
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
After securing the lantern, Strife will watch the strange old man walk away, trying to see which building he enters before turning back to Jubilant. "So shall we see what they have for sale now that we have picked over their buffet cart?" The kobold would say with a grin under his hood.
Perception? 13
Strife will than start to make his way towards the general goods store in the hopes of stocking up on rations if nothing else. The kobold will move towards the building with his head down and robe covering him to the point someone might think he was a small child pretending to be a ghost under a sheet...
STRIFE (( soz can't do spoilers, posting from phone ))
You watch the hooded man carefully, as he moves through the crowd and disappears behind a house. The other side is visible, and you don't spot the man come out the other side. You determine there are about three buildings he could have ducked into. At the last second, you swear you can see him look back at you.
Jubilant pockets the rope and arrows. After all, doesn't look as though anyone else is using it. Having not noticed that Strife had focused his attention on something else, she began looking around the area for a sign that might point her towards Belmont's Wares. 4 Well, no sign of it from where she was standing, not as far as she could tell. "Strife, do you see anything?" she said, puffing out her cheeks in frustration.
"I watched the old man disappear into one if those three buildings..." Strife will say to Jubilant as he points his head toward the houses. "I think after we do our shopping we should check him out.." The kobold would say as they approached the door of the generals store
After some searching, passing by lazy villagers - some idly smoking their pipes, others lethargically moving supplies through the town - you come across a humble little store, though its decorum some might consider a bit tacky. Belmont'sWares, it says in bright and colorful lettering. The red paint in the "e" of "Wares" is slightly chipped and worn, and all sorts of strange bits and pieces line crowded displays, creating a "funnel" of merchandise towards the door of the establishment. You notice several large weaved baskets stuffed to the brim with long strips of salted, cured venison (each strip large enough to last one a day) being sold at an absolute steal - three strips for six silver pieces. The door is closed, and you struggle to make heads or tails of anything inside; between the vibrant stained-glass panels that fill the window frames, and the merchandise stacked heavily in front of them, it is nearly impossible to see beyond all of Belmont's wares.
"This looks like a good place to stock up." Niner says. "Maybe they we can find some crude oil here too, plant oil would be fine too I guess." he then whispers to Strife and steps in front of the door and tries to open it.
Elsewhere Velima has made her way through the town, keeping her head down but not obviously so as to not attract attention. She eventually stops a random villager and asks them, "Where does Chief Heidelfjord live?"
Niner budged the door - despite all the weight and... tack, it seemed to move pretty smoothly. Inside, our party was immediately greeted by all sorts of scents and sounds. Along the walls and behind cases were all sorts of trinkets and pieces, carved wood idols, novelty-crafted swords and weapons, and a fair amount of snacks and candies. For a store of convenience's sake, usually a place to buy food or bits and scraps for repairs, this place certainly seemed very loose with the term general.
VELIMA
You stop an average man, short blond hair with modest apparel, who is hauling a barrow full of tinder and firewood towards the center of town. He stops, looks you up and down, then beams a large, goofy grin before replying irrelevantly: "Please ter meet ya! Mah name's Jakob, what's yers friend?" He either didn't hear you, or is outright ignoring your question.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Following behind Niner, Jubilant immediately starts searching around, going off the make-shift list in her head. She would peruse the trinkets for anything interesting. She paused for a moment, checking the idols to see if any of them looked familiar. Religion: 4 She turned her attention to the rest of the store, rooting around curiously. She was looking for a few of the candies she'd seen scattered about, a bedroll, tents, any sort of warmer clothing, and a flute, though it seemed unlikely she'd find everything she wanted.
(Wasn't sure how to do the rolls on this one since it was a bit mixed, so here are these rolls if you want to use them! Your call of course, Sorry for the huge amounts of rolls in this post

Velima
"...hello Jakob" Velima's words became slower and more intentional. "...I"m Velima, can you tell me where Chief Heidelfjord lives?"
"Ahh, err," Jakob paused and stuttered, as if trying to think of something to say. "Perhaps ye best be leavin' the chief alone. 'Tis an important time, you know!" Suddenly the man's eyes widened and his face grew pale. He hurriedly picked up his barrow and began briskly pacing away from Velima, uttering not a single word more.
JUBILANT
Before you dive into your shopping, you check the carved, painted wooden idols that are on display. One of them depicts three handsome sylvan spirits, howling at a whole lunar gaze. The particularly most well-carved idol is that of a woman with long hair, and two wolves by her side - though you cannot tell what religion might utilize any idol like these. Maybe it has something to do with the tapestry in the tavern? You do not manage to find any warm clothing or camping supplies, though you are easily able to find a few sweets to your liking.
As our split party entered the shop, Jubilant began immediately on a frenzied spree. Following behind, Strife and Niner were able to get a better look at the store - though it looked cramped and cluttered from the outside, it was tall and sprawling on the inside. Rows of two-story shelves lined the walls, and fine tables - with crystal cases that self-illuminated as if by magic - held the more lustrous and valuable wares. A meek, elderly voice raised up from behind one of the smaller shelves in the back of the shop. "Hello, dearies, what can Gram Belmont help you younglings with?"
