Firvnolg noticed that they were staring at him but mostly ignored it since he had been getting similar looks allmof his life. While he had met both half orcs and half elves he had yet to meet another like himself, only coming across the child of a half orc and half elf who had come together over being outcasts. He shook those thoughts away and would have let them fade from his mind until he heard the dark skined elf mention something about his parents. Memories filled his mind but they were vague at best due to having lost his parents around the age of four,
"I can only assume my parents are somewhere better then this world as I have not seen them for almost twenty years." He told the drow, finding himself intrigued when she mentioned some place called the Underdark. He could only guess it was some out of the way island that was to small or isolated to be mentioned or shown on a map.
Q'wai finds a place to sit that offers some partial relief from the hostile sun. He has never before seen so many different races congregated in one place. The sound of strange languages reaches his ears, and the smell of unfamiliar food reaches his nostrils. The monk watches the scene around him and listens intently, hoping to pick up a basic understanding of the local customs of this wholly new environment.
He is surprised to see the red-headed lute player once again; she sits a short distance away and is accompanied by a man and a female komigira, which is the name for drow in Q'wai's homeland. The monk has never before seen an actual komigira, but he is able to recognize her because he once saw a watercolor painting of a drow male and female in one of the books in the monastery library. "How remarkable," he whispers to himself.
Also nearby sits a lone male with brutish facial features and a peculiar grey-green skin tone. "Someone who seems as solitary as I am," thinks Q'wai to himself.
The monk orders a simple meal with a glass of wine. He eats slowly and all the while tries to keep his ears open for helpful information.
"Underdark?" Liva ponders on it for a few moments, she has never heard of the Underdark before It sounded....well it sounded dark. She chuckles to herself as she peers around for a free table. Finding one somewhat close to the edge of the dock. Liva will gesture for Xolf to follow her and Politely ask the Patron of the establishment for 2 drinks of a mead or ale. Her curiosity about this woman was hard to suppress. Only after reaching the table Liva remembers Khriss and gestures for him to sit with the women.
"Underdark, never heard of it, is it far from here?" Liva will continue her on with her questions if Xolf decides to follow her. If not Liva will just sit quietly and await the drink, keeping an eye out for any kind of notice board which would have job posters or wanted signs.

Mathilda brings the meal and drink out, leaving the table to talk amongst themselves. "Mr. Broom!" she exclaims, running over to hug a very large, thick moustached, shiny bald gentleman. "The usual?" He spoke with a thick accent, similar to the one of the guard Q'wai had encountered. "Of course, my dear. Mr. Broom must stay strong, and healthy!" Liva manages to spot a very small job board next to the bar, with about 4 or 5 posted missions.
It seem that I did not error to badly, thought Xolf to herself. It seemed like none of them knew what the Underdark was. Strange really, when you live down in the dark you think it is the center of the world. you come to the surface and you find out no one even knows about you. Still she did not mind talking about her home. In a way it was soothing. For all the dangers it held there was something, soothing about the dark. She just felt so natural down there. Up here things were, well bright. Too bright. Some days she just wish to go to a dark room and sit in the quite. Things were too loud as well, now that she was thinking about it.
Taking a que she followed her half-elf friend. She looked back once more at the Orc-Elf. She still found him a bit stance. Moving on she took a seat at the table. "Can i have a glass of plain water", spoke Xolf as she sat down and crossed her legs. "The underdark. Hmm, well let me put it this way. Imagine a cave. Now imagine a tunnel in that cave that goes deep underground. That tunnel leads to another tunnel, that leads to another tunnel. Let this continue for miles around. Add a few open large areas, and you have the underdark. It is a series of caverns, tunnels, and underground rivers. There is no sun in the Underdark, and as a result it is nearly pitch black. There are some luminescent mushrooms, animals that make their own light, magma, and a few other stange light sources around. However if you ever find yourself in the under dark, never go toward a light. Light is a lure. You will soon find your death by the maw of a beast or the blade of another Drow. Or worse the axe of a Orc. As for how far away it is, well I don't really know. Do you have any deep caves on this island. It may or may not lead to the Underdark. You never really know."
Liva was listening to Xolf but also keeping an eye on the Open air tavern, Making a mental note of the Notice board for the future. She took a sip of the ale placed before her, It was as hard and as yeasty as the ales back in her home. She liked it and immediately drank half of it right away, wiping the froth from her chin and the corners of her mouth. "Sounds like a helluva place to grow up Xolf, So this is your first venture out into the surface world then?" Liva was a little taken aback by the Large womans description of the Underdark, Never once had she heard of people living under the surface. I mean dwarves do but an elf-like race not hunkered down in a closed off city?
"Was never one to delve too deep into caves, was brought up to believe that a cave is a good place to get yourself killed so I tend to steer clear of them." Liva leaned back into her chair and crossed her legs, Letting the heat from the sun and winds off the water do what they will. "Xolf, I gotta say you are one strange individual but I like ya. Listen, You dont know much about the surface right? Hows about you and I team up for a bit? just til you get the hang of the surface world." Liva Is trying to make it sound convincing, Her cheery and delicate voice becoming slightly deeper as she looks across the table at Xolf. "I could help you understand the ways of the surface, show ya how to make some quick coin and you could watch my back."

The words Mr. Broom suddenly reach Q'wai Zan's ears, and he immediately turns his head in the barmaid's direction. The monk studies Mr. Broom's features, committing them to memory, for Q'wai is not sure if this is the appropriate time and place to approach the man recommended to him by the guard. He will spend the next few minutes observing Mr. Broom, trying to discern what sort of man he might be. (Insight: 7)
Seeing that the rest of the strange newcomers were done with him for now, Firvnolg began to eat the fish that had been brought out to him. As he ate he turned his attention the the dark skinned elf as she spoke of her home, his attention shifting more once she mentioned orcs. While henhad met half orcs he had very limited expeirence with fullblooded orcs so he was interested somewhat. As for her description of the underdark he found hinself wondering why one would miss such a place if it was so dangerous. Although in a way it did make some sense to him as he had similar thoughts about returning to the seas.
"I am not completely new to the surface", spoke Xolf in her defense. However it was a flimsy one to be honest. She was not new, but she spent the last twenty years with a isolated group. She did not really know society. Everything was different, strange, and uncharted. Xolf hated it. When you entered into a new section of caves in the Underdark one would hide first and then watch. Stumping around willny nilly was a quick way to a swift death. The surface world was no diffrent. Sure it may not be as dark and the creatures not as vicious, however civilization itself was a savage beast. Xolf had seen enough on her travels to realize this. She was crippled. The aid would be useful, but there was a risk. What if this Half-Elf was just trying to use her. Sure she had been the first to approach her, but she approached due to a lure. A lute and a warm smile. In the underdark she would never have approached, not without having a the upperhand. Her mind ran back to him, and how he had tricked her and caused the death of the most important person in her life. However the image of Bera popped up as well.
"What would the She Bear do", whispered Xolf to herself. She took a deep breath and made a decision. "Very well, we can team up. I have weighed the pros and cons and figured it would be in my favor it we teamed up. However I won't drink any of your spirits. I like my mind clear."
(( Pale_Crow, that decision is up to Xolf. If LordNoodleXIV decides to roll insight for Liva's statements, then a rollplay would ensue along with the roleplay. An excellent reference point for how to handle these kinds of things is Critical Role on YouTube. It's also a fun watch on occasion! ))

You have discerned, through your keen eye, that he is from a land not far from your own home - the Ruslands, where the guard earlier had mentioned coming from. You notice a small insignia on his bare chest, tattooed on. It's very faint, but it appears to be the symbol of the Opekyh, emissarying holy people of the Ruslands. They are pleasant, and respectful of the Wushin tradition, and welcomed foreigners in their lands by many of the Xiao'lin (( the people, Xiao'lan is the country )) Nobles.
Mr. Broom got a kiss on the cheek from Mathilda, before she ran off to resume her work - in the middle, returning to the party to collect their tab. "Four coppers for the ales, please, dear." Khriss, having sat down at the table, immediately starts taking a huge gulp out of his flagon. "Ah, **** it, guess I'll cough up now. But next round's on you, eh?" Khriss threw a bit of coin at the table in front of the lovely, but vertically-challenged barkeep: ten gold. "We're paid up, Mathilda." She scoffed at Khriss's very declaration, rebutting - "For the week, oh sure. But you've still a deep debt to pay, Khriss." The hooded, ivory-haired ebony-skinned indigo-eyed self-proclaimed cartographer extraordiare pounded back his ale. "Bring another next ya pass! I'd like to forget our conversation. You should try it!" Khriss began to yell as she walked further and further away, until behind the counter. The tall, bald, thick-and-curly moustached man looked at Khriss, then began making his way towards the table, stopping to talk to some of the other customers. Suddenly, at the appearance of Mr. Broom in full, the three lazy bards that had slipped all notice began to excitedly play fanfare. They cheered as the table games began to rile, and the drinks sloshed faster down the throats of all. Mr. Broom was a sight to behold. He held himself highly, and was very bright and cheerful as he danced around the open bar playfully, greeting the patrons with polite pleasantries, albeit in occasionally broken Commonspeak. "Hello, friends!" He said, seemingly beaming bright as Lia Fail herself. "Well met this fine summer days! Mr. Broom is pleasing to making acquaintences with friends. AHHH!! Wayzkh-Tchin!!!" He extends a strong, beefy arm ending in a firm hand twice the size of any normal man's in expectant gesture towards Q'wai. "Hahahahaha! Mr. Broom does not chance get to see others from near his homeland! It's very far journey here - what's the bringing you here?! Hahahaha!"
(( Sorry for the really short posts, I had a 12 hour shift today, and I have another Friday. Spent most of tonight frantically cobbling together material for my IRL game, I forgot it was tomorrow lol. Q'wai, amused, watches the loud but good-natured antics of Mr. Broom and is taken by surprise when the Ruslander unexpectedly greets him. Q'wai reaches out and shakes hands with Mr. Broom while simultaneously offering a slight bow.
"Yes, far from home indeed," responds the monk with a grin on his face. "For now, let's say the bad weather has brought me to this place. I now seek work, sir, and have been told you might be able to help in that regard. But, of course, continue greeting and charming the patrons first."
Liva did flinch slightly at the sound of Debt, seems Khriss and herself did have something in common though it is something not worth speaking about. If she remembered correctly she did have a little coin but she didnt want to waste it all on simple drink. "I'll get the next round Khriss but after that I think it better if we discuss what your intentions are here, I know you want something from Xolf and I. what you want I do not know but I can tell you it better not be anything fowl and pay some coin." Liva finishes her own flagon and signals Mathilda for 2 more Flagons, asking for another water for Xolf.
:Well thats something to drink to Xolf, Im sure this partnership will rattle the very bones of the earth." Liva has a bright smile on her face, Her soft emerald eyes aglow with the Prospect of finding a companion so soon after arriving. "Hey you dont have to drink if you dont want to, I Understand its not for everyone." Liva had been drinking for 5-ish years now, she could hold her booze and had overtime developed a tolerance to most kinds of alcoholic beverages. After all if you work in a tavern, you have to drink whats put in front of you.
