"These crates...aren't these the symbols from Leanne's shop?" They must have stolen this stuff from her shipments." Beetle says..."We should try to return this stuff to her."
OOC: how do you guys want to handle the treasure, basically for the coins everyone can grab 150 copper and 27 silver.... who wants to hold the healing pots and the jade statue we can probably sell for more gold. How does the song of rest work, is it just Serak or heals everyone?
"Serak maybe you should hold onto 1 healing pot, you always seem to be getting yourself into trouble....lol" Beetle laughs.
Seraks detect magic spell doesn't return anything unusual, save for the conjured bonfire as its slowly extinguishes itself, slowly plunging the room back into darkness.
In the dwindling firelight, Sildar tries to tend his wounds. "I haven't fought in a battle like that since fighting against King Oubalds orc army in Lurkwood! Well fought my friends.. I think we could all do with a short rest my bardic friend, but afterwards I must insist that we make haste to Phandalin"
Settling down to listen to the bards peaceful tune, Sildar feels at peace for the first time in a long while. Not so long ago he was facing certain death, but now thanks to these brave men he is free once more.
Sildar recovery: 2, Song of rest recovery: 4
As the bard plays softly beside him, Sildar builds a makeshft campfire from a broken up crate and the embers of the fire. Once the fire is lit and steadily crackling he sits down, opens a ration pack and begins to tell his fellow travellers a tale of his friend Iarno Albrek.
"Iarno was the strongest wizard I'd ever met. You know, when he first arrived in Waterdeep none of us in the Lords Alliance had any time for him, old Black Beard. He was always busying himself in the council business, trying to help out however he could, but really he was distracting the lord commanders from their duties. There was one hunting trip we took to the High Forest, Iarno had convinced the hunt leader to let him tag along of course. The fool had never hunted before. Can you imagine? A wizard hunting!"
"Anyway. On the third night of tracking this stag, I find the creature in a glade of the wood. I aimed my bow and let an arrow fly. But it wasn't a stag. Little did we know we had been chasing a demon around the forest for three days and three nights, and none of us were prepared to face a demon. Iarno saved us all that night. I owe him my life."
"We knew that there was trouble brewing in Phandalin, and when Iarno was sent there we thought he would sort it out with little bother. But he hasn't been heard of in two months now. Personally, I had been charged with the protection of Gundren Rockseeker and his brothers while they visited Neverwinter, but when he told me about his dealings in Phandalin I knew I had to go with him."
Sildar stares into the flickering fire light.
"I hope you understand my friends. A life debt is not something to take lightly. For a wizard like Iarno to go missing is highly unusual. I must admit, I don't hold out much hope of finding him alive."
Serak: Picking at some rations of his own, Serak chuckles to himself and says, "It seems there are a plethora of people in need of finding! We'll gladly assist you in rescuing Gundren, Iarno, and anyone else we might stumble across along the way! I'm hoping for a beautiful elven damsel in distress at some point, but one cannot choose where adventure leads!"
Serak adds the 3 gold teeth and 15 silver pieces he found to the party pot to be divided. He declines the healing potion and suggests, "I thank you Beetle. I'll try to be more careful in the future. Honest! I believe the potions would do the most good in the hands of yourself and Zyltris, however."
He hands the potion to Zyltris while he attempts to mend the two new holes in his leather armor.

Zyltris: “thank you all for helping me. I could really use a quick rest. I would like to take a closer look over the cliff and see what is down there. After that I want to quickly explore the room with the water pools.”
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Serak: Sipping the tea Syna made, the bard ponders the current situation. Finally he says, "Zyltris is right. We should do a quick search of the cave to make sure it is secure. When we leave I'll hide the entrance as best I can, until we can arrange transport for all these supplies. On the way back let us see if our goblin friend is still tied up where we left him. Someone must know where this Castle is where they took Gundren."

Satisfied he's done all he can, he prepares for the trip back to Phandalin.
Zyktris and Serak take their time searching through the cave system. In the southern chamber the corpses of three dead goblins lie scattered around. The dead wolf, fragments Beetles arm still evident in its teeth lies peacefully beside the fire pit.

In the pockets of the dead goblins, the pair finds a scattering if coins (22 copper pieces and 3 Electrum). Plunder gathered from the ambushes these creatures have laid. The dark shaft to the western edge of the chamber reveals nothing but darkness as it slopes steeply downwards. Although Serak believes that the wolf chamber lies at the shafts lower end.
The deafening sound of rushing water surrounds them as the explore the previous room. Here only one goblin has anything of value. 61, 10. A small pouch with 15 copper coins inside. A dark scorched patch shows the spot where the bonfire once raged. Otherwise, this chamber lies empty.

Heading outside with the others, Serak gathers branches and rubble, and attempts to cover the cave entrance. The caverns opening is large, but Serak does well to conceal it. Not to far away, a torn rope lies beside the flowing stream, half soaked in the flowing water. It’s been sliced by a blade of some sort. Their captured goblin is nowhere to be seen.
OOC: Make sure you roll your healed points and added the song of rest bonus of 1d6 if you haven’t done so. The pot of treasure needs to be split too, unless you would rather one big pot between you all?
OOC: I think one big pot until we reach a point when we can sit and divide it equally. When we find equipment it might get more difficult to divide things evenly. I'd say equipment equals its GP value versus other loot. If two or more people are interested in the same item I've found discussing it with the party is usually enough. If not, then a bidding system where players bid an amount above the item's GP value that will be taken from their loot portion, in addition to the item's base cost. Just suggestions to make things as fair as possible.

OOC: Potions and utility items like that I wouldn't count toward loot totals. Just magical equipment and stuff. Usually it is obvious who an item is best suited for, or another player has less items so it is more or less their turn to get it. It usually works itself out. Things like the teeth and statuette would get sold and GP distributed equally also.
OOC: No worries, until I know where everythings gone I'll track it in the list as a common pool of stuff. When it makes more sense later to keep track of individual purses I think you'll probably need to track it yourselves
OOC: Yeah I think keeping stuff in a party loot until we can really divide it is a very good idea.
Before leaving Beetle once again mentions..."I think we need to come back here and retrieve these crates that I am pretty sure belong to Miss Leann and her shop." Beetle obviously smitten with Leanne from their encounter feels bad leaving her stuff here but probably no way they can be moved at this time.
OOC: Looking back at what Serak said, he’d given Zyltris and Beetle a potion each. You can put them in the communal pot or keep them, as long as I know who has them!
If you guys are finished at the cave I’ll move on?

1 + 5 + 2 con modifier = 8 hp healed
