Jonathan rolls his eyes as Ling and Nikolai embrace, and a puff of steam erupts from the tub as he sinks down into it. Behind Ling, Lena carefully extricates herself from the bath and begins to make for the door.
Nikolai hisses through his teeth in irritation at her drunken buffoonery, but something about her words rattles his fury. "Then do something about it." He whispers in her ear.
"I can make you feel better than her," Ling nuzzles into his neck and presses her body flush against his. With a sigh, she runs her fingers up the back of his neck and curls them into his hair. She has stopped crying now and seems entirely oblivious to anything around her. Gently, Ling nips the skin above his collar bone and starts sucking on it. Her hands run over his shoulder blades and down his back, tracking his muscles down and along his sides until she reaches his hipbones, where her fingers draw little circles, pausing as if to ask for permission. "She doesn't know you like I do."
Nikolai gasps softly as her teeth tease his flesh while her hands track down his back and hold around his hipbones... He pauses as she sways against him, the little voices in his mind screaming at him that this wasn't the time, but his blood was up and one of the voices told him to do it... and he wanted to so badly... One hand reaches up and snakes into Ling's hair to the back of her head, grasping tightly, but painlessly by the roots as he pulls her head back slightly to look into her dark eyes. "Show me how well you know me." He kisses her fiercely while his left hand slides up the front of her torso to grasp her left breast, stopping to lightly pinch her nipple... Meanwhile his tail, in much the same fashion as with the other tiefling girl, curls up and around her thigh, gliding seductively up and down her wet leg. She can feel his hardness against her lower stomach.
Ling gasps when Nikolai pulls her back by her hair, one thought cutting through her drunken mind like a sharp blade: I went too far. He doesn't want me. But then he kisses her, really kisses her, and his touch runs through her veins like heroin. Her eyes flutter shut and she arches into his hand. Moaning softly, she plants another kiss on his lips and lets her hands wander further. She begins to sink to her knees, but he pulls her back up and wordlessly nudges her over to the carpet by the fire. Without saying anything, they lie down together on the hard floor, as if speaking might break the spell. As his fingers slowly travel down her back, Ling feels like she is in a dream, like this is just one of the many fantasies she conjured up to warm herself during a cold night on the road. None of this feels real, her surroundings are much too clean, too luxurious too… nice, for someone like her. But the most surreal thing of all is Nikolai looking at her like this, like he suddenly sees her as more than the young girl who can’t read, who hardly knows a thing about the world or even her own powers, let alone control them. He had taught her so much, but after a while, it seemed like that was all he did. None of her antics ever seemed to provoke more than a sigh. Sometimes, maybe, he’d get angry with her for ‘putting herself in danger’. But jealous? Never. Even when she’d made out with the half-elf right in front of him, he had just been annoyed.
But now, he is looking right at her and he wants her. Maybe he will be angry tomorrow, but at that moment, Ling does not care. If this is her one chance to be with him, she is going to make it count. Feverishly, she touches every inch of his body, wrapping her legs around him to pull him closer. He trails his fingers down her side, pausing at her hips just as she did before, grinning as if to say: quid pro quo. A mewl escapes her lips, but when that doesn’t seem to be enough, she whispers: “Please!” Ling doesn’t easily feel shy, but she is not used to having to ask for it. He lowers his head to nudge the tip of her nose, but still keeps her pinned in place by her hip and just grins at her, denying her. “Please, you know I want you, I’ve wanted you for forever, I don’t care about the others, that was just to make you jealous, I –” her babbling stops abruptly as he finally relents. Ling digs her nails into his back, hard enough to leave marks…
Hours later, when the fire has burned down to nothing but embers, Ling wakes up shivering from the cold on the hard floor of the bathroom. She immediately feels nauseous and with everything spinning, she throws up in the first bathtub, clutching the side. Quietly, she pulls her clothes back on and rubs her aching head, groaning. "Nik? We should find the others, I don't know how long we've asleep for." She rests her forehead in her hand and looks over her shoulder to see if he is still asleep on the carpet.
Hanna giggles briefly at the pun, before reestablishing her composure as she points out some basic details in the book.
"See, it says here that the Republic of Littlewood was founded almost two-hundred and fifty years ago, when the free cities of Five Towers, Paragon and Eastfarthing united under the leadership of Littlewood's first Patrician, Duncan O'Brian."
Alaris brushes the book, letting gentle fingers run over the rich paper and the inked text. Their eyes pass over the text with a touch of sadness, quickly hidden as they inadvertently bump into Hanna while collecting the book. "Oh! I'm sorry!" they blurt out, raising their open hands in a Forgive Me gesture.
"Are there any special instructions for handling? D-do borrowed books go in special satchels or anything?"

Shifting, Shiva comes to consciousness with Sonya's arms still wrapped around her. The surrounding darkness tells her that night has fallen, and she moves to light candles to illuminate the space for her lover. Stretching as she moves about, she eventually begins to gently rouse Sonya. "Hun. Honey, I need to go." Sonya stirs, sitting up and regarding Shiva with sleepy eyes, before kissing her passionately. "Come see me again. Or maybe I'll find you. What's your family name?" Shiva looks away as she is caught off-guard by the question "Oh, um...well, I don't have one. My full name is Shivala." Sonya heads cocks to the side in mild confusion, then she smiles again "Shivala. Until next time." And with a quick slap on the butt, Shiva is sent off to find her companions and clothing.
Grabbing her towel from the corner, she quickly wraps herself before navigating down the halls as best she can. Eventually coming back to the room with the tubs, she quickly spots her clothing and begins dressing, while hearing Ling throw up into one of the tubs. "Oof, may have overdone it a bit, darling. Do you want something. Water? Quickly throwing on her clothes as she speaks, she walks over to help her extra pale friend. "Oh hun, here let me help you." Bringing Ling to her feet, Shiva spots Nikolai asleep on the carpet near the fireplace. Putting the pieces together, Shiva grasps Ling tightly by the arms, leaning in to look into her eyes. Her voice is curt and low as anger beings to boil beneath her words "What. Happened."
"Ugh, Shiva," Ling says, holding her head, "don't be so loud please. Have you seen my shoes? They must be here somewhere..." She leans around Shiva to look for them, stalling for time. "Ah, there!" She points to where she kicked them off earlier and goes to retrieve them. After she puts on her boots, she just stands there awkwardly, suddenly very preoccupied with fixing her messy hair.
Hanna giggles and takes a sheet of velum from her desk to wrap the book in for safe-keeping.
"That should do, as long as you return it before you leave. I'll see you in two days?"
"Y-you will?" Alaris' eyes widen in alarm and a moment that feels like a terrified eternity drags on before the paladin realizes what Hanna means. "Oh! Of course I will! Yes yes -- so you will be here too?" Alaris takes the carefully-wrapped book and tucks it in their pack. "I look forward to seeing you again, then. Bye! A-and thank you!" Alaris flees before making an even greater fool of themselves.
Passing back through the armory, they collect Hope's Edge and feign a groan towards Anatoly. "You weren't wrong - I got an assignment for my troubles. No... my charges have been left to their own devices for too long. I'll be back in a couple days and I'll fill you in before we leave." The knight tugs their threadbare cloak around themselves, hiding their insignia, and strides along the darkening streets to the fancy whorehouse in the Primorsky district. A glare from their silvery eyes is enough to dissuade any guard types from hassling them, ill-clothed for the wealthy area though they may be.
Upon meeting the doorman, Alaris smiles and says, "A dwarf lady paid for my entry earlier. I do not require any services besides guidance to my friends' rooms."

Being the first time to properly clean up since arriving in Piotrgrad, Astrid takes full advantage of the bath, calling for refills of hot water. With the water refreshed, she leans back against the back of the tub and places a hand on each side around the top edge. She speaks a single word in dwarven, "Quake." The tremors cause the vessel vibrate and the dwarf relaxes into to enjoy a light massage to further aid her aching body. Letting out a satisfying sigh of relief she reaches for the pitcher of ale - dispensing with the smaller mug, and drinks down half it's contents.
Having finished bathing, and the majority of her ale, Astrid dons one of the luxurious robes, grabs her belongings and makes her way back to the suite.
Ling looks over and sees Nikolai stirring, so she tugs Shiva out into the hallway with her. Blushing slightly, she mumbles: "We might've kinda... hooked up... Last night." Despite her embarrassment, she grins sheepishly.
Shiva's expression darkens, almost looking through Ling. Wordlessly, Shiva turns and strides into the room, gathers Ling's clothes, and brings them back out to her.
"Get dressed. Stay here." Shoving Ling's items into her hands without even looking at her, Shiva then B-lines to Nikolai as he begins to wake up.
Leaning down, she picks him up by the neck and screams into his face "WAKE UP ****FACE."
Astrid returns to the suite to find Caio already sitting there, cozied up in one of the plush chairs. He stirs a bit, perhaps he was napping? Immediately he grabs for the wine next to him and finishes the last of it straight from the bottle with a large swig. It seems he finished the whole bottle by himself, and his slowed reaction to the dwarf's entrance confirms it. For a moment he smiles at Ghoul, floating peacefully in a small basin that the inquisitor had requested "to soak his feet in". Finally he turns to Astrid with a drunken smile and gestures to where their companions are likely causing trouble down the hall. "Drama. I do hope you're getting used to it." he pauses and then suddenly looks solemn. "You know... I have someone too. I spend my time chasing after monsters but really... I'm chasing her. Does that make her a monster too?" Caio doesn't wait for a response before he stands and staggers towards the door. "I think Alaris came in at some point?" he reaches the doorframe and leans out. "More wine please! And... and food! Lots of food..." he calls to whoever is around to hear.
The doorman eyes Alaris with narrow eyes, but steps aside to let them enter.
"Upstairs," he adds with a nod, but little more.
"Have a good evening... I'll try to keep my friends tolerably quiet," Alaris sighs in passing, bone-tired after the fighting and the meeting with the commander. Seeing the sign by the cloakroom, they mutter a curse and hand over Hope's Edge to the boy in the cloakroom. "Don't hurt yourself with that," they murmur, then head upstairs to find the group.
When they arrive, no one is in the room, but various articles of clothing and gear show that it is indeed the increasingly ill-named Trio's room. Finding a warm corner, the paladin tucks their pack, with the heavy sack and the book stuffed in it, under their head. "I'm going to have to get around to counting that and seeing just how much the Commander thinks we're worth..." they say before wrapping up in their cloak, and immediately drop off to sleep.
Shiva's shout causes Alaris to sit bolt upright, reaching for their glaive and looking around for danger before processing the source of the shout. "What in all the hells was that? Wh-where are the others?" they ask after looking around and seeing only Astrid and Caio in the chamber.

Caio is already up, not exactly needing to sleep as an elf but clearly showing the grogginess of the excessive amount of wine he drank. "The last I saw them they were about to **** half of the staff." he responds from beneath the pillow he's cradling his head in. "That scream sounded like Shiva though. We better collect them and get out of here before we incur any more charges for..." he gestures to the state of disarray the room is in.
Nikolai jerks awake as he is suddenly grabbed around the neck and screamed at; with one hand he attempts to shove his assailant away and with the other he sparks forth a long, blazing blade of angry fire. Just as he is about to slash the bastard across the face, his eyesight clears slightly from the ringing hangover in his head and he recognizes Shiva's angry face and the blade falters. "Shiva! What is it?! Is there someone here for us?!" His eyes immediately dart around the room and find it empty. He looks at her bared teeth, looking like she's on the edge of a rage and raises one eyebrow. "What is the matter with you?"
"WHY?! WHY DID YOU **** LING? I TRUSTED YOU!" Her rage finally spilling over, she lifts her friend into the air. Seething, she grunts as she tossed him several feet across the floor.
Ling hastily pulls on the rest of her clothes. She puts her hand on the door, but hesitates when she hears Shiva shouting at Nikolai. However, a second later, she hears a loud crash. Shit! SHIT! Bursting through the door, she sees Nikolai across the floor and Shivala baring her teeth. "Shiva, don't!" She tries to grab her by the arm. "It's not his fault, it's mine!"
Nikolai starts to laugh bitterly, but before the air can escape his lungs he is tossed bodily across the room. He impacts the wooden floor with a hollow thud and grunt of pain as the air is nearly knocked from his lungs. He sits himself up on an elbow with a cough and grunt, spitting onto the floor, but his fiery blade still roars in one hand as Ling rushes in between them both. "Careful, Shivala, you are my friend, but you should calm yourself lest you draw my ire. I have had a trying few days and I care not for your tone." He gets to his feet.
