Following her bath, Astrid settles into one of the beds. The comfort of the luxurious bed almost causes the dwarf to pass out even before her head settles fully into the pillow.
When she wakes, she is surprised to find that all is still quiet throughout the suite. Opening the door to her room she finds Caio lounging in one of the chairs, which he apparently got his rest in. "Yes, that is still taking some adjustment," she replies to Caio's comment on the group's somewhat turbulent dynamics. She chuckles at his state, as he is unable to spot Alaris resting quietly in the corner. "That's funny, because I feel like I may be running away from someone."
The shouts down the hall cause her to tense and she reflexively grabs her holy symbol hanging from her neck. "Probably fighting after one of the girls again would be my guess,"she says to the paladin who suddenly came alive and is sprinting towards the door. "I think I will wait here. No point in me getting the way."
As the pair exit the suite to investigate the commotion, the cleric grabs a bit of dried meat from a tray of food and goes back to her bedroom, leaving the door open. She plops down on the edge of the bed and stuffs the rest of the food in her mouth. Wiping the grease from her hands on the side of her robe, she pulls out a small book and begins reciting from it. With the continued shouts from down the hall she clears her throat and begins to recite a bit louder. Her prayers are interrupted when the sounds from outside suddenly fills the room. She looks up to find Ling coming through in a huff.
She quietly finishes the rest of her prayers and enters the doorway to her room, stuffing the small prayer book back into her robe. "Yes, it was quiet refreshing. However, it doesn't seem like your evening was as relaxing...?"
"Sixteen?? Shiva, do you believe that?" Alaris arches an eyebrow and frowns, extending a hand to Alicja. "Let me see this writ of expenses."

Caio enters the suite with Nik in tow. Given the emotional events that had just occurred he gives Ling a wide breadth as she talks to Astrid before depositing Nik in one of the beds and closing the door behind him. He remains silent as he begins collecting stray glasses and empty bottles, gathering them on one of the tables to make it easier on the cleaning staff.
Ling's eyes widen when Caio brings an unconscious Nikolai with him and lays him on the bed. She seems torn for a moment, but then asks: "Please tell me Shiva didn't hit him on the head?" With another look at Astrid, she goes into the bedroom to check on him.
"Well worth the expense, I assure you." Shiva says to the Madame with a conciliatory smile
As she and Alaris make their way back to the suite, Shiva whispers to them "We can split up that cost, and I can cover a bit extra for my outburst."
Alaris squeezes Shiva and grins down at the tiefling. "I don't think they charged us for that, actually. Let's get out of here before they notice."
They walk into the suite, allowing Shiva to lead the way into the room before following her through and striding to where Nikolai lays. They kneel down beside him and touch his forehead and face. Their backpack chinks a little as they set it heavily on the floor beside his bed. "Has he moved? What happened in there?"

Moving back into the suite, she sees Ling go into the bedroom, and follows after her. Once inside, she wraps an arm around Ling and hugs her for a moment, before releasing her and leaning against the closest wall, "No, I didn't. I don't know what happened. He seemed pensive for a moment, then started screaming in pain before passing out."
Forgetting other concerns for the moment, Ling touches his forehead, feeling for a fever. She looks at Alaris for help: "What's wrong with him?" Gentle, she shakes him by the shoulders, trying to wake him back up.
Caio stalks back into the room, leaning against the wall. "Before he collapsed he said 'Get out of my head.' The four of us felt that strange sensation in the tavern the other night, at the same time that ring appeared. Since then I've had some... odd dreams. Dreams where I feel like someone else, in a different place. You had that strange moment with the bell, Ling. Perhaps it's all connected."

"Well... Uh...," Astrid stammers through Ling's question, when suddenly Caio burst through the door carrying Nikolai. She gives Ling a look knowing that they will pick this up at another time and follows behind the Ling to check on their groggy companion as well.
"Strange that I felt some disruption the same night," Astrid comments as she begins to give Nikolai a cursory examination. "As I said, it's what drew me to you." Turning her attention fully to the resting tiefling. "Hmm... Let's try removing any lingering effects of the alcohol to see if that helps." The cleric places one hand on his forehead and another on his abdomen. Her hands glow with a radiant energy and, as she pulls her hands away, out through his skin pulls out small, dark particles of the remnants of the alcohol.
"It wasn't just the bell... I feel like there's someone else inside my head, like someone's reaching for me but I can't reach back." She frowns, trying to explain what it's like. "But that doesn't make any sense, does it? Do you think we might be under some kind of curse?" Ling looks back at Nik, then pokes him again with her finger. "Wake up already!" She doesn't move at first when Astrid approaches, but then budges to stand right next to her as she examines Nikolai. When it is clear that Astrid is helping him, Ling's posture relaxes again. "I'm sure that's the only thing that drew you," she mumbles, but her comment is almost automatic, lacking her usual mocking smile. "Will he wake up now?"
After several moments, Nikolai's eyes flutter open and he takes in his surroundings as he notices several concerns faces, but also several exasperated faces. "What happened? How long have I been unconscious?" He winces as he sits up from the excruciating pain still lingering, but it was less of a physical pain and more of a pain of the soul. 'What was that?' He asked, but the voice was quiet, no answer. He sighs as he waits for some sort of answer from the others.
"Finally!" Ling squeals and gives him an enthusiastic hug. "Not long, just long enough to be scary. Caio said you just screamed and then you were out. What happened?" She sits next to him on the bed, her fingers lingering on his arm absentmindedly. "...did you see something too?" She looks at the others. "It seems like we all have."
Alaris eases back from the group huddled over the naked form of Nikolai as they begin talking about the strangeness that washed over them all during Shiva's birthday party. Not my job to share my fears and worries with them... not like the children think I have any...
They make their way to the bath and grab Nikolai's clothing before the maids tuck it away for reselling. The knight's fingers run over the soft tooled leather of Nikolai's rig for astra furora and his Tarock deck. They lean against the wall, resting their head to relax for a moment against the heavy wood... and the voice rings in their head again!
I swear by Gorshaeil and all the angels, I WILL KILL EVERY LAST ONE OF YOU IF YOU HURT HER!
The voice is smoky and rich with rage.
Softly, barely even a breeze of sound... Who is the her, who's hurting her, and why do you care?
That's a question you should be asking yourself, HUNTER - who is She, who's hurting Her, and for ****'s sake why do you care? You used to be a lot more fun.
Is it Freja? Is it my Lady who saved me? Alaris whispers, oblivious to the staff staring at them. Their nails dig into the wall and one cracks, blood beginning to trickle down the warrior's hand and wrist.
A tittering laugh echoes in Alaris' head... it gets louder and louder til they think blood must be oozing from their ruptured ears. STOP!they shriek.
What? I didn't do anythi...the voice fades to nothingness and Alaris groans and pushes themselves away from the wall, wincing at the burning pain in their finger. "I'm... I'm sorry..." they murmur, flushed with fear and embarrassment, as they drop a couple coins on the floor and rush back to their suite, still carrying Nikolai's gear slung over one arm.

"Sixteen mark," Alicja replies, without hesitation, producing a piece of parchment as if from nowhere.
