Astrid smirks and rolls her eyes at Alaris's question to Nikolai. She wonders if there will be a moment when bodily pleasures, or even innuendo, is not at the top of mind for her new companions. "Who did you get a job from?" the dwarf asks Alaris quite curiously, hoping her curiosity about the paladin's disappearance. "Did you make a trip down to that underground tavern again?"
Evening has set in in Piotrgrad and the streets are dark as the six companions make their way back to the Black Sheep. The common room has already filled up with patrons and familiar hubbub of many conversations fills the air.
"Wine and chocolate, I know which one I'd prefer! Although both is good too." Ling plays with Shiva's bracelet. "What do you think this would sell for? It looks fancy. When you're done with her, I mean."
She snorts at Caio's comment and then catches up with the others. Once they've all sat down at their table in the Black Sheep, she grabs a seat next to Nikolai and expectantly looks at Alaris. "Go on then, what have you got to share?"
Alaris stretches and sets their rucksack down at their feet as they sit down at the table at the Black Sheep. Before they start talking, they look around to see if anyone pays the group more attention than usual. Softly, they begin.
"So I reported our success with the fleder to Commander Bronislaw, and asked if there had been any reports of missing children... you know... if those miniature fleder were babies put through the generation process. Our reputation for effectiveness has earned us another opportunity.Caravan from the temple is leaving in three days, headed for Paragon through the gap of Hirn," Alaris drops their voice into a softer range on the last sentence conscious of the danger of sharing that information too broadly. "That gets us paid to get closer to Five Towers."
The paladin tugs the book out of their pack and hands it to Nik, still wrapped in vellum. "We also have an appointment with a librarian and a scholar at the temple Friggsday morning, to gather more information on Littlewood, Five Towers, and the rest."

"A caravan escort? Not our usual bag but I suppose it makes sense. And spending a little time doing research sounds beneficial as well." he pauses for a moment, stroking a still sleepy Ghoul as he thinks. "And that gives us a few days to investigate the situation in Bednik."
Taking a seat beside the two other tieflings, Shiva listens intently, sitting up with her elbows resting on the table. "We're certainly busy all of a sudden. So what's the next to-do on the list, then?"
"Getting paid to travel sounds pretty sweet! For tonight, I was thinking of paying Francesc a visit." Ling says with a grin as she cuts little shapes into the leg of the table. "Sounds much more fun than the beggars."
A slight look of disappointment comes to Astrid's face upon hearing the direction of the group's next task, being the road took from Kazad Azgaraz and further from her destination of the Eazim Forest. She puts her disappointment to the side, as it seems Brightmantle is telling her now is not the time for her personal quest. She leans in to listen to the details from Alaris. She flags down a server for a mug of ale.
"Hmm... We'll be going through a bit of my lands then to get there. Going to still be a bit chilly this time of year. So better pack your long underwear." She pauses and chuckles inward before continuing. "The Gap and Mingol Bar is all that is protecting Littlewood by being flooded with Sarameians."She glances around and brings her voice low to match the paladin's. "Speaking of... I overheard a bit of conversation when we were at the underground tavern. A Grimmi and Saramian were discussing what sounded to be like plans to allow them to cross through The Gap! Sounded like they are waiting until the snow melts... Which is only in a couple of weeks "She takes a sip of her ale to help her clear her throat. "Anyone of you know what a Seraskier is? Seems like title or rank that I'm not familiar with. That Sarameian mentioned that the Seraskier are ready."
Caio rolls his eyes at Ling's comment about the beggars but leaves it at that. "We definitely need to pay Francesc a visit, and I ask that this time you all don't let me run off with that fey couple." Turning to Astrid he replies "I've never heard of a Seraskier. I'm also not sure what's so bad about an influx of Sarameians. Would that really change our day to day?"
"I'm lost on both the politics and the term. But I agree, we need to pay that ******* Francesc a visit before we set ourselves on anything else. And it may be equally necessary to hold onto me if Mistress is there, maybe we should lock arms as we walk in, Caio." Shiva chuckles as she raises her hand to get a servers attention, ordering tea once they've made their way over.
"I am not so concerned with the day to day effects either, but should we run into some sort of army prepared to invade Littlewood that could hinder our path to safely escort these folks for this mission Alaris has," Astrid responds to Caio. "Long term, those in my hold I don't think would be too keen by being surrounded them. Also concerning is that there may be those under Karaz Hirn that could be looking to profit by allying themselves to the Sarameians."
Alaris frowns, rubbing their cheek. "Politics are lost on me, too, but a Seraskier is a Sarameian general overseeing a theater of operations. Things could go sideways in a hurry if we run into the wrong prickhead officer on the way. But we've already been paid, so we'd better find a way." Alaris' eyes glitter with mirth as they glance around the table.

Caio chuckles at Shiva's suggestion. "Sounds like a plan. And I'm sure there's no prickhead officer that can resist Ling's charms, I think we'll be fine." he leans back in his chair, still seeming somewhat relaxed from the spa despite the various tense conversations. "I'm ready to head to Temnitsa whenever."
"Exactly! And if that doesn't work then.....murder." Shiva emphasizes this last word as she looks out and reaches dramatically towards the middle distance. Laughing to herself, she straightens up and stands "I'm ready to go if you guys are."
"...But we've already been paid, so we'd better find a way." Alaris' eyes glitter with mirth as they glance around the table.
"We did?" Ling seems much more interested in this information than the earlier politics. "How much?"
"Feels like seven large, plus whatever you make selling off what we scrounged from the shrine. Good day, huh?" Alaris smiles at Ling's sudden excitement.

Astrid doesn't appear to be shocked by the amount the paladin was paid up front for their services. "Yes. Well , if we have been paid already we are obligated to complete the job. I just wanted to raise my concerns for our travel toward that direction." The dwarf sits back in her chair and takes a large gulp from her mug. She begins to mentally prepare herself for the visit to the underground tavern.
The night is yet young when the rebellious young band of mercenaries arrives outside Temnitsa. The pounding rumble of the music from the night before is gone, replaced now by the rich thrum of a lute that warbles melodically throughout the venue. The mood inside is distinctly less hectic than the previous night's event, with scattered patrons drinking quietly in their booths while they enjoy the music.
Astrid smirks and rolls her eyes at Alaris's question to Nikolai. She wonders if there will be a moment when bodily pleasures, or even innuendo, is not at the top of mind for her new companions. Nikolai laughs. "I can say this is a first! Then let us hurrying back and see what surprise Alaris has in their sack!"
