Frixori approaches the steeple silently. In the room beyond lies an overturned wooden bed, bereft of it's mattress. The mattress is torn open and straw is scattered about the room. The contents of a chest, consisting of priestly garments and personal effects, have been emptied onto the floor.
Two goblins gleefully hang from the rope of the bronze bell at the far end of the room. They do not yet notice Frixori's presence.
Frixori sneers seeing the two creatures, being the cause of her oncoming headache. She raises her crossbow and fires a bolt at one of the goblins... without waiting to see if it hits she dashes back down the steps and promptly informs the others of what she has discovered.

With a devilish grin on her face, the tiefling announces to the group, "I've managed to get the bell to stop ringing." She raises her crossbow to the door to the steeple. "And we'll be having some company soon."

Iz drops her muddy clothing on the floor and grabs her still muddied sword and shield, running to get between Frixori and whatever it is that is pursuing her.
"Well, whoever it was mentioned goblins earlier, ten points to you, I guess!" Thalia moves quickly to put some distance between herself and the two creatures currently bounding down the stairs. "So much for a townsperson being up there to warn people..."
As the bell stops tolling and she can hear again, Iz shakes her head to clear it.
Thank, Arvoreen, I can finally hear again!
The wind whips through the dark temple causing Iz to shiver. The wind whistling through the emptiness of the temple hall is rather spooky, and she almost misses the sound of the bells.
Sheshka sneers. "Goblins...." she says with a hint of a growl as she brings her ax to bear once more.

Having just won a hard fight with those Worgs, perhaps this Half-Orc is just ever so slightly less enthusiastic about getting into another fight directly.
"Don't thank me yet," Frixori replies to Iz. The tiefling runs off toward the pulpit looking for some sort of cover. She fires another bolt at the goblin that she already had wounded.
The battle is over ere it had even begun. Both goblins are slain instantaneously, and they lie facedown on the cold dirt floor, one with a bolt in it's neck and the second with a shattered skull.
Sheshka moves forward and prods a slain goblin with her ax. "Vermin..." She hisses under her breath. Then, her venom expunged, she shifts her attention to the area around them. Were there other dangers? Maybe survivors?
Thalia breathes a sigh of relief as her companions drop the two goblins before they can finish dismounting the stairs, allowing the cold energy that had begun to swirl around her fingertips to dissipate. The temple seems to be quiet at last--literally quiet, now that the goblins are forever done fooling around with the bell--but surely that can't be the end of it.
"Frixori, is it?" she says, turning to the tiefling. "Did you notice anything else up in the belltower before you drew out the goblins? Otherwise, maybe we should make sure no survivors are hiding anywhere else in town, or that there aren't any more of the little buggers hanging around. I have to say, when I agreed to make this trip I wasn't expecting to have to root through a half-smashed town with goblins and worgs breathing down my neck... but what must be done must be done, I suppose!"
If no one else reports anything of interest inside, the dragonborn turns to head cautiously back outside, ready to try another building.
Druug turns to his companions. "May be survivors who need healing. More goblin skulls to crush welcome too," he says in a rough gravelly voice as he wipes blood and bone of his hammer, seemingly unconcerned with the stain it leaves on his tabard.

Frixori steps down from the pulpit and wanders over to the goblin bodies and gives one a poke with a booted foot. "I can finally hear myself think." She bends down to see if there is anything useful on the dead bodies.
Investigation 7
She looks up to the dragonborn as she sifts through their clothes. "I didn't see anyone else up there. It did look they made their way into the priest's chest."
