“I thought it seemed quiet,” Xana teases, “Sounds like we’ve been quite productive today already. Oh!” She remembers a thought she had earlier and leans her chair back to look at the Corporal, “Where are you guys taking the body? Since I assume your not leaving her out to rot in the street,”

"Interesting but I still get the feeling that this guys are not responsible for the dead girl. We've found a trapdoor downstairs that could prove interesting checking. We were waiting for you in case you want to join the party. Is Crab too far? " ask Krizarith to Seb.

There is a thud upstairs as Crash returns to the den via the thieves highway. He walks downstairs and sees the group assembled. Hi guys. Sorry for the wait. I think we need to speak to the bakers wife now before she disappears. According to one of our new friends she’s the local enforcer for a group called the Black Brothers and he reckons they are involved in this. 

The corporal stiffens when Crash makes his claims. He turns to his men and shouts, " Keep those men confined they are to talk to no one." 

He turns to Tom and adds, " Go to the 5th watchtower, the baker and his wife are there now. They are there to see after their daughter and the burial arrangements.. Tell the Watch commander to keep them there." 

He turns to you all, " Black Brothers are no joke. Tell you sergeant about what happened tonight and I ll keep you updated as soon has I can." 

On the way back, while walking and trusting her companions to make sure she doesn’t walk into anything, Xana starts skim reading through one of the history books she picked up from the bookcase, looking for any annotations that draw attention to certain passages or sections related to gangs or magic.

Seb looks around at everybody wide-eyed and lets out a high whistle. "Best be off then, eh?" He gathers his things and heads towards the door. "Oh and Tom? I think the Black Brothers may have a hideout in 'The Opened Eye'. It might be worth checking it out. They've got a secret door knock to enter by the looks of it." When Seb is back in the alley with the others, he'll turn to address them. "It takes a lot to spook the watch like that. We should watch our backs."

"I say that we better go to the 5th watch tower and confront the bakers now, before she can make a move or the Black Brothers hear that the Watch has her and try a rescue."  replies Krizarith to her companions.

Tell me what you decide. Tavern or 5th Watch ? 

I’m happy to go to the watch tower but I could do with a sit down for a short while. That magician stung with his glowing darts. I agree I’m concerned that she’ll be in the wind at the first opportunity 

(( OOC Question: How much time for a short rest for Crash? anyway Kriz have a proposal, she is kind of bored of waiting for you boys not me as a player!! she as a characeter ;) )) 

"Take it easy friend " Krizartih says to Crash " Go back to our barracks and take some rest, we can take it from here and we meet there, ok? " 

"The City Watch are stronger than you credit them, my friend. Besides, our goal was simply to gather information, was it not?" Seb isn't keen on the idea of going to the watchtower. 

"They are, but they aren't aware that the woman they think is only a grieving mother is the leader of one of the fearsome gangs in the city. Even the stronger can be taken by surprise. I'll go to the watchtower. See you back in the barracks " adds Kriz with a smile and she heads for it. 

Seb looks at the others and shrugs. "As far as I'm concerned, our work is done. The corporal has sent word to the watchtower and we're not getting paid to piss off another dangerous gang." He turns to Crash, "Come on bruiser, lets get you rested up with a mug of ale. Any good at massages, Xana?" He teases as he heads back to the tavern.

Xana sticks her tongue out at him, “I charge more than you can afford, sadly.” Then she looks at Kriz, “You sure you want to go to the watchtower tonight?” 

If Kriz is sure she’ll go with her , saying, “us ladies need to stick together since the boys don’t want to stay up past their bedtime.” And she’ll ruffle their hair like they’re little kids.

I’m ok I think we should all go together. If those lads were scared of her I think it’s best not to under estimate her. Xana as an aside, is there like a price list in case it’s Sebs birthday and I want to bankrupt myself getting him something nice? Crash winks at her and then slides himself slowly behind Seb 

Xana laughs, tucks the book in her hand back into her bag, and says, “The best things are not money-bought, boys, they’re earnt.”

Seb sighs. "And there was me, getting all excited for bath time." He rolls his eyes. "Lead the way." Looking at Xana and Kriz, he defers to them and gestures towards their new destination.

"Well you can keep dreaming on really good baths Seb " says Kriz winking an eye to him " Who knows? maybe you got lucky one of these days.." she says as she walks towards the Watchtower. 

"And you Crash, you don't want to miss anything, don't you? it's good to know that you have our backs " 

Crash don't know why but knowing that she counts with him makes his bruises less painful. 

 "I fear that if we don't grab this chance maybe we can lose her and her husband. Let's hurry and maybe we can finish that bottle of the moonshaes islaes of the top shlef once we get back to our tavern.... " she explains to Xana.

Xana nods and follows Kriz, “There’s nothing better than a well-earned drink.”
