"If you think it will help, sure Squirrel will go in. He's very brave you know."
She turns to squirrel and instructs him to go through the house. She reaches out to hold onto Farkur because she is looking through the eyes of her familiar.
Rawley is taken aback, "Oh.. I apologize. I didn't think it would be that unsafe."
He takes another look around, "By the looks of it, we have completely eliminated one possible option of the source of whatever this is."
He's very uncomfortable. "To be honest, I'm out of my depth here. Would be glad if someone more familiar with the arcane or divine arts would take point. If you see something that needs killing, let me know."
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Farkur is at first extremely dismayed at Squirrel's demise, then confused when Ally asks if she can perform a ritual to "bring him back." When the owl appears, the gnome is even more surprised. "How ... how ... how?" the druid finally asks, a slight smile arching his lips as he looks at Squirrel.
[insert Ally's explanation]
Farkur approaches the collapsed house and looks at the rubble to see if anything looks interesting.
"Do you remember when Squirrel talked to you in Sylvan? That is because he is a creature of the Fey. He's mostly just visiting because were friends. Have you tried speaking with things besides animals? I was wondering if you could do that with plants. It would be interesting to know what the corn had to say."
Farkur returned to the group, the carving in his hands, turning it over and over absently. [Insert Ally sending off squirrel and putting her hand on Farkur.] When he finally finds his tongue again, the gnome comments to the others, "The crows around here seem more perturbed by our presence than expected."

Chazrael nods as he continues to keep his bow ready and surveys his surroundings.

Ally continues around the house till they meet up with Farkur and Rawley.
"There's an open door on that side of the house. Did you find anything?"

Weird. It did last night after I posted. I edited the post so it would show up. I remembered it being a high number.
Rawley says, "Well, looks fairly normal so far."
And turning to the squirrel-man, "Can you send your pet in to look around? Feels like the safest option"
Ally gives Rawley a guarded smile.

Farkur jumps a little at Ally's touch, then he holds extremely still, his eyes wide and roaming about.

Ally muffles her sobs into her robe. "What bravery, what sacrifice!"
She glares at the cornfield. "Are we in a hurry to rush into the cornfield? I'd like a moment to call him back."
Chazrael shakes his head. "No, I can wait while you call him back."

Ally performs a ritual that brings squirrel back, except he's an owl this time. She ruffles his feathers a bit.
"How's my flying squirrel?" She makes a smoochy face as the owl impassively glares at her.
Rawley is taken aback, "Oh.. I apologize. I didn't think it would be that unsafe."

Ally asks squirrel to fly up so she can get an aerial view of the cornfield.

"Speak ... with plants?" Farkur seems dumbfounded, then contemplative, then excited. "I should learn how to do that!"
