ooc: So we are giving treasure away without even discussing it?
IC:
A look of shock comes over Margret's face seeing Nobody offer the rings to Sildar
she quietly in a low angry voice adds to Nobody's
"You know Nobody those rings are ours! Bought with our blood! I'll claim them if you won't but don't forget the stolen goods we found in the Manor! I think we should of earned a finders fee for that. Sildar as Nobody said GlassStaff got away.
She curtsy awkwardly to Sildar
and sits down
"I apologize milord for my outburst, My friend here has a map given to us by a goblin who was one of their servants. Who would be best to help us fill in the blanks on it"
Nobody jumps at the angry tone, and for a while clutched at his chest as if moments away from a heart attack. Slowly but surely, he regains his composure, and fueled then in part by draconic anger, stood his grounds for once fully and without a brief stutter. "They /aren't/ ours though, Margret. Don't let selfish greed blind you. The coin recovered should be more than enough compensation as is! As far as EITHER of us know, these could be heirlooms, and should be treated with such." He states flatly and in more huskiness to his voice.
"If /you/ wish to discuss a finder's fee all the same, then by all means. Once we know who they belong to, you can. But I was not gonna to pawn these away on a whim. And t'is why I was in part I wasn't more upfront about them. Or did assisted with uprooting the brands purely in seeking to fill your pockets?"

"So you don't trust me to make a good Judgment? I'm not as greedy as you think. If you discussed what you found and your thoughts, I wouldn't be so angry, my anger is at those who don't share "
She takes the rings and puts them in the hands of Sildar
"These are ours unless you can honestly find their former owners.....alive"
Then sits back down, and gives a mock look of longing towards Zurzg
Zurzg looks slightly alarmed for a second, before baring his pointed teeth and hissing at Margret. He then proceeds to make a show of sharpening one of his many swords.
Sildar listens to NObodys reportbefore he replies to one point after the other: “I agree with Margret, you took the risk, you should get first share of the reward.” He looks at the pearl ring and moves it in front of Nobody: “This ring for example, this pearl should be big enough to be used in arcane magic to examine things. Of course i wont refuse any financial help, or if you find personal items, but rescuing those people and getting rid of those thugs for the moment is already an improvement for this village.” He passes all the other trinkets back to you as well.
He scans through the papers that Nobody gave him while continuing: “ I am planing to build up a local guard force and to set up a militia. To secure the Triboar Trail as well as the village. There are a good few reports here about Orc Raids to the south and east. Part of the resources to handle that i plan to acquire from the Lords Alliance in Neverwinter, but i think i can find a good use for some of those weapons. Also while i am talking about Neverwinter, the jail here is kind of small and not really suited to confine people for a longer time, so i was thinking to send Ree’lyn Ostran and Maltake to escort two of our three prisoners to Neverwinter, on theire way back they could bring more suplies back. Also that would split up the prisoners, i don’t feel comfortable with haveing them all in one spot, especialy if the leader or leaders are still on the loose. Moos already told me about the litle pack of hounds she found, i think they can be a good and relativly fast addition to the local security force.”
”As for you, i would like to ask you to look into this Cragmaw Castle, Gundren is hopefully still alive and imprisoned there. Unfortunately i don’t know this area either , but i am sure, if you ask the locals, they may be able to point you in the right direction. I would say rest for today and ask around the village about the castle. Wich leads me to my next point, earlier today i meet three ‘adventurers’ here in the inn, i send them on a small errand for today. So if you research today and then go to find the castle tomorrow, those three may be able to join you.”
"So you're buying the weapons, we have? We also have 3 suits of studded leather. Two on the prisoners we just brought you. And a couple of suits of chainmail. And if I could find a good chain shirt or breast plate...."
she shrugs
"I guess being a caravan guard for so long has made me think like a mercenary. But I do so hope Gundren is alive he has been their goal here all along and I suppose I've made it mine also."
"So Sildar, what are these folks like the adventurers you speak of?"
Nobody narrowed his eyes at Margret, as her initial reaction had already spoken lourder than words Yet, feeling certain compulsions begin to bubble up to the surface, he pressed his lips into a thin line, and would say nothing more. The expression he wore later when Sildar appeared to agree to Margret moments later was like a slap to the face; harsh enough to be more shocking than harmful. Unless Zurzg tried to snatch the rings up, the defeated looking tiefling listened, but wouldn't touch the offered back. Instead, he'd just gesture with his head over to Margret to handle while he sat there silent; moping, but attentive at the very least.
Ultimately taking the suggestion to research as his cue to leave, he gathers back up the books into his pack, and quietly goes to find and speak to Toblen about a room for the night. He leaves the coin in a pouch on the table for either Margret or Kai to scoop up and split at their leisure. Not a cut of he had already taken for his own devices, or a glance back was given back to the others on his way out. Not even if called out, unless it is a demand of some form or another. For the rest of the day, Nobody was committed to pouring over the books twice over if necessary to gain more than just a layman's understanding of the materials gathered up from the hideouts. Especially the book that appear to be almost have an arcane bent to it.

Kai had remained quiet for a while, letting the two bicker it out calmly as she listened. She watches Margaret scurry after Nobody and looks to Sildar. "Gundren is indeed our prolonged target. Having extra hands will be of use. We are unsure what we are walking into, although I do highly doubt it will be an easy task. I look forward to meeting those who you deem as worthy adventurers to join us.."

"Well, i can not vouch for them yet, as i have spoken with them only briefly, but they made a a good impression. As for the weapons and the armor, if you drop them of at the Lionshield coaster, i will look through them and make you a fair price. Also, Nobody ran off to fast, i am afraid i may have insulted him by returning his gift. Anyhow, he mentioned some telepathic creature that is still down there, do you have any clues what we may be dealing with? I would like to recover those two bodies that Nobody mentioned, but i don't want to endanger people more then neccesarry either. "
Nobody slowed to a stop, if only because out of unspoken obligation. As was the youth's way or habit, in spite of no doubt lingering resentment. But he didn't look back, or even so much as grin at the offer. Instead after a likely awkward comment of silence, he sighs. "Keep hold of it. Ask around. And if noone claims it, then... I'll take it then." He trails off into some half-mumbled words about formula and uses before abruptly cutting himself off, and rubbing at his forehead.
"As for the summoning party--"He cringes at the last word. "Just... put in the order for whatever amounts to my share, and I'll pay the rest when I pick things up later. But no party.... Do these and I suppsoe we're squared." On that note, he continues to trundle off to his room.
(To DM: Do you need any rolls for what he finds the first time around while more thoroughly researching the books, or we're square on it just taking his day time actions to study them at length?)
You decipher three cantrips: light, mage hand and shoking grasp. While you can not learn those spells at the moment, you could use the spellbook as a blueprint to create a spellscroll for those three spells later.
I will do this for you Nobody. But remember my friend. If you do what you wanted me to do, Asking around to find the rings former owner there are many out there that are not as noble and trusting as you. And will take advantage.
So it would be better if you hear about a missing ring meeting its exact description than ask. I'll try and be back soon with the components."
She thinks about it looks in the pouch and takes a couple of gold out and hands it to Nobody
"If you will,Get us a couple of rooms too please, I guess me and Kai will be busy running errands today while you research"
she heads back to the table hoping breakfast is served
At Margret's continued insistence and new reasoning, Nobody somberly nodded and accepted the ring. For the time being. "Fair point, I suppose. A-and I will.. and sorry as well."Unless there's more beyond that point, the hybrid wizard added paying for the added rooms during his talk with Toblen before retreating from the scene. Only this time not quite as glum as before.
(To DM: I'll throw in the roll for the alchemy stuff once its clear we do get the full day to study, or if we're gonna go back and possibly tangle with the creature in the crevice.)

Kai thinks for a moment before speaking softly. "It seemed pleased by a magical offering of sorts. If anything, you can use that for a way of quelling it. It did not seem to he distinctly hostile, but we also did not push our luck and simply offered it a 'toy' to study while we finished our business. We were also able to sleep and rest in certain areas. So, I do not believe it to be a major risk, merely a precaution to be handled with respect and logic."

"I wonder why people were staring at us when we left the Manor I hope they think of us as heroes. Course they barely know us."
