Aiwin nods "Gonna be a story for the ages." as the dragon flies them he just acknowledges its statement "If you can just drop us off where you feel safest, we can hike the rest. I can move ahead of the group and scout for us once we land."
Soar allows this endeavor to proceed, and somehow has experience riding on a dragon's back, offering the two new arrivals tips on how to stay comfy and safe, and also to keep Otaaryliakkarnos happy. Her eyes constantly dart around the sky (what's the weather like?) looking for threats, other dragons. She agrees that landing far enough away that the tower will not be alerted to their approach makes sense. "Thank you for offering to scout ahead, Aiwin,"she says when they land. "I'm not the quietest person on the planet. Be safe. Oh, and one note, Varan and Aiwin. My god permits me certain protections, so if we face magic users or other threats, if you are close to me, I can sometimes extend those protections to you as well." (OOC: Aura of Protection: While you are conscious, you grant all friendly creatures (including you) within 10 ft. a +4 bonus to all saving throws. Aura of Warding: You and friendly creatures within 10 ft. of you have resistance to damage from spells.)
The weather is fine; few clouds in the sky and no sign of rain. Cool and pleasant under other circumstances perhaps, though exposed as you are on a dragon's back, it's a little chilly.
Soar (and anyone else) can make a Perception check to look around if you wish.
Aiwin, you are distracted by the sheer thrill of being airborne, and riding a dragon. You struggle to keep a child-like grin from your face - or perhaps you don't try to hide it at all.
Soar, you've seen this before, as exciting as it is. You scan the horizon, looking for threats, the kind of threats you've faced only days ago. Nothing. Whatever the cult is doing, it doesn't seem to be stalking you. Not today at least.
Tobin is too distracted to notice any incoming threats, as he is fascinated by seeing a bird’s eye view of the world in a perspective his maps can’t match. He furiously scribbles notes for later incorporation into his maps as he sees the land below (Game log 7 Perception).

Tobin, you see the landscape moving below, focusing on big features and ignoring the little specks that occasionally move. Varan, the view is pretty, and you feel better as the day grows older.
The dragon flies on; there is little conversation - it is difficult, in the noise of the wind rushing past, and Otaaryliakkarnos seems to have nothing much to say to you all at this time, focusing on strong beats of her wing and monitoring for threats.
The mountains grow thinner, or lower; you see more hills, forests and grasslands as you make your way south. And as the bright blessed day turns to dark, sacred night - or near sunset at least, you see up ahead a tower, not perhaps as tall as you might have expected, but solid, and ancient. Surrounding it is a very overgrown, seemingly neglected hedge maze; you don't see a clear path through it, and suspect it may have been left untended for decades. You see small houses of the village, at the very edge of the maze, but Otaaryliakkarnos does not get too close, coming to land on a hill perhaps a mile away from the nearest side of the maze.
She reverts to her human form, and smiles. "We made good time, I think. But I will not approach the tower."
Image of the tower, maze and village; currently without dragon on top (as far as you know).
Soar peers ahead. "Will you wait here for our return? Or return to bring Sarel here? I am hoping this doesn't take long. Anyone have any ideas on how we can make contact with this defector, and how to approach without being seen?"
"I will go. I regret to say I cannot remain exposed here, where the Cult would surely see me as a great prize. Do you have a way of contacting me if needed? If not, there are those among our helpers who can reach out to you, once per day; I will come, or send a friend, when you are done here."
Soar thanks the great Silver dragon, and agrees to the once per day check in just in case the party is unable to. She also agrees when Aiwin asks to go scout.
Settling in while Alwin scouts, Tobin breaks out his maps and starts making updates with his magic quill based on his observations from his most recent flight.

With a silent nod, Aiwin retrieves his bow from its resting place and starts moving with cautious grace, his eyes scanning the unfamiliar terrain they've just landed in. He utilizes the cover of the forest, moving stealthily and scanning keenly for any signs of potential threats or lurking dangers that may endanger the party. His movements are deliberate, each step calculated to minimize noise and maximize awareness of his surroundings, ensuring the safety of his companions as they venture forth into the unknown.
OOC: Stealth: 23 (16+7) (thanks for the advantage Karnic otherwise it would've been 12, when using any forests he would also utilize mask of the wild) Survival: 26 (19+7) (If favored terrain (forest) kicks in, it becomes a 30 since proficiency is doubled for wis/int skills) Perception: 26 (19+7) (If favored terrain (forest) kicks in, it becomes a 30 since proficiency is doubled for wis/int skills) **all rolls in campaign thread**
Before you head off to your various tasks, Otaaryliakkarnos says her farewells. "I have a gift for each of you. I know that you were robbed of the magical treasures you had found, and you will need any advantage in facing whatever foes lie waiting for you here. These are from my own hoard, and that of one of my friends - who has asked me not to reveal their identity. Perhaps if Jalt and Titus succeed in negotiations, more will be available in the future. For now, take these and use them to face the Cult of the Dragon, and any who would support the return of Tiamat." She hands you each a wrapped parcel containing a gift.
To Tobin: "This was a gift from a Queen of Cormyr, whose mother had worn it. The queen herself did not inherit the gift, and did not wish her children to either. I hope it will protect you." Her gift to you is a shimmering, beautiful - and very eye-catching - Robe of the Archmagi.
To Bazavur: "A servant of Bane stuck this in me, when I was still young. It is not an evil weapon; I think he might have stolen it. Banites are hypocrits, I have always found - they prattle of law and authority, but act like petty thieves when it benefits them. The weapon has no name that I know of, but you are welcome to it." She hands you a Glaive, +2 made of a metal with a strange orange tint to it.
To Soar: "This is a friend. Her name is Solara. She has been asleep for many years, and I have found no cleric or wizard able to wake her. Still, she too would wish to aid in this fight." Her gift glows a little even through the wrapping - it is a Sun Blade, but if it has any additional properties as a sentient weapon, these are locked away - for the moment.
To Varan and Aiwin: "These weapons were carried by an elven hero who lived five hundred years ago. Her name has been lost to her own people, by her own choice and my solemn promise. She was a friend, and I still miss her. I think she would want these to be used in this fight. I fear I do not know your strengths in combat, so please take whichever is most useful to you. The longbow is named Remembrance, and the scimitar is Swift." She hands you a Longbow, +2 made of a wood you have probably never seen before, a dark brown, almost black. The steel scimitar is a Scimitar of Speed.
(Tobin, the robe is either white or grey, depending on your alignment which isn't currently on your character sheet - could you please add it!)
Sneaky Aiwin, does the area you are scouting include the edges of the maze where the village appears to be, or just the countryside around where the dragon has dropped you.
