One can tell that Kazri’s demeanor is very matter of fact. This was just one of many caravans she had escorted in her life, and now she is camping outside like she has done countless times. Everything she does seems like rote repetition. She is not bored, but there is no excitement in her spirit. She just wants to get this trip over, so she can perform the mission she set herself out to accomplish. She has the faint hope this might bring meaning to her life once again.

The party settles into its camp for the night. The night passes swiftly and without event and in the morning you continue east along the Triboar Trail
Its about noon and the party is nearing the road that runs south to Phandalin when it hears a strange noise to the right. Abotu 20 feet off of the roadway the ground begins to churn and out of the earth an enormous many-legged insect, its long antennae twitching in response to any movement around it bursts! Its legs end in sharp hooks adapted for burrowing and grasping its prey, and its powerful mandibles look like they can snap a small tree in half!
The monster is about 20 feet off of the trail and you are all 30 feet from the creature.
Feel free to pre-post combat actions to keep the combat moving. If a change needs to be made because earlier actions affect your pre-post you will be give the chance to make changes
Krom utters a brief prayer to Moradin and his warhammer starts to glow like an ember Searing smite, he then rushing toward the monster, proceed to give powerful swing to one of the monster's legs. Warhammer attack 17 Damage 6 Fire Damage 3
Kazri raises her large kite shield and charges the monster. “Caster, stay behind!! This thing spews acid, be careful! I will have this big bug’s attention. Mr. Onc, go to the side and find a soft spot and go at it!!”
Keeping the shield up, aiming where the mandibles are, she his the monster with her warhammer. (Attack: 17 Damage: 7) (Plus Divine Smite:12)

"It appears my stalker of an ex girlfriend is back I am afraid!" Chip would say with a grin as he draws his longsword and points it towards the creature. Holding his pan flute in the other, He would begin playing a quick tune, rocking back and forth while waving his sword in the air high above his head. "Insect woman! Stay away from me-EE.... Insect Woman! Mama Let me Be-EE!" He would shout in between notes on the flute as he cast vicious mockery. The tune would also inspire Rhogar... being a classic Dragonborn and all.. with bardic inspiration!
Rebukerk is going to charge in and attempt to give the monster a new scar with his greatsword. If possible he will move to flank the monster to give himself and Kazri advantage.

Pre-Post:
"Who's Caster?" Rhogar calls out, sounding genuinely confused. The confused look only grows after Chip's talk about an insect girlfriend. Inspired all the same by the tune however, he grins and digs out a bunch of pebbles from some side pouch. "Okay, let me try this.. *ahem*.. Grandpa was a rolling stone, da da do~ Wherever he laid his hat was his home. And when he died, only the--" The light bursts from a trio of pebbles, startling the dragonborn for a second. Sensing the power now behind them he grinned toothily at Chip.
"Ohhh~ Now I see why you sing. Thanks Chip."He says, and like skipping a stone across the pond, Rhogar flings a golden pebble at the creature's mandibles. Never one to back down from a fight with a comrade in danger, Rhogar stays the thirty feet away and no more.
Just before striking the monster. Kazri holds her warhammer high over head for a second, and it glows hot with incandescent light. She strikes the monster. At the point if impact it explodes with radiant divine energy.

Chip would rush towards the best.. "My mistake, this one was better looking than my ex... Shame..." Chip would say shaking his head. "I will say, I have worked up a bit of an appetite, Who is ready to eat?" The brass scaled dragonborn would say with a Grin, running his belly.
Rekuberk seems to be disappointed that he did not get to fight, grumbling to himself in orcish before he sheathes his greatsword. "Well that thing was to pathetic for me to have the honour of facing my blade."

"Who's Caster?" Rhogar calls out, sounding genuinely confused. The confused look only grows after Chip's talk about an insect girlfriend. Inspired all the same by the tune however, he starts for a pouch, only for Krom to finish the job. "Huh... Well, that got my heart racing!" He admits, patting his chest. "Can't say I'm all too hungry. But I... hmm... If none of you mind, I would like to retrieve those mandibles. Not for myself, but..." He trails off there, grumbling to himself.
Soon as he gets the all clear, Rhogar says something in draconic on approach to the creature alongside some curt gesture. For a moment, the others could swear a phantom of another dragonborn overshadow the bronze. But in a blink of the eye, their gone without a trace. Taking his knife, he gets to work, narrowing his focus on the work.
"Gents, there might be more where that creature came from, we must still remain vigilant. Mr. Firebeard watch the casters, keep you eyes peeled to the other side of the road. Sound an alert if there is any movement." Now that the monster no longer hold everyone's attention, one can see that Kazri's medallion glows a incandescent light, similar to the warhammer's glow before hitting the creature.
Kazri signals to Rekuburk and Chill. "Mr. Onc you with me behind me, we should go investigate the place where this monster came from. Mr. Chill, we may need your darkvision and stealth, please stay near." Kazri holds her shield in front of her, slowly advances, and goes to investigate the site where the monster erupted from the ground. (Perception: 16 / Investigation: 12)

"Ok, lass, I'll take care of our magic-users", Krom moves near Chip and Rhogar keeping his shield up in defensive position and his warhammer ready while checking the other side of the road. He then murmurs a prayer to Moradin. ( Guidance Perception 19 plus Guidance 3 )
"Take care of us magic users! My friend.. I think you underestimate the strength of the dragonborn!" Chip would say with a flex and a grin before nudging Rhogar as he tries to remove part of the creatures jaw.
Kazri moves forward to look at the ground. She sees the body of the ankheg mostly out of the hole. The rest of the hole is partially collapsed and is about 3 feet wide. Chill can see that it descends at a fairly steep angle for at least 40 feet before it disappears out of sight. The hole is about 4 feet in height as it slopes down.
"Should we fill the hole in? I can only think that even if we do another of those things will merely dig it out again. With that being the case we should at least put up some kind of warning to any passers by." Rekuberk says, keeping his hands where he can grab any of his weapons at a moment's notice.
