The half-orc woman winks back at Aradurk, then tosses a confused look toward Milo. The halfling chuckles and calls out, "Don't worry, ma'am, I'm just going to get these folks' horses settled for them, and then I'll fetch your ale for you. And by the looks of it," he cranes his neck to see the coin that Aradurk flips, "You have quite a few coming your way."
Milo leads the party into the crowded stable, closing the door behind him. Petunia had previously communicated to Wes that the area was safe, and it certainly appears to be so; at the moment, there are only two horses here, one asleep in the corner and the other eating some straw as its tail swats at flies. However, Milo reaches into a pocket and mutters a few words, and one corner of the stable suddenly stands out from the rest, as a stairway appears out of nowhere descending down into darkness. Another incantation causes magical light to spring into a radius around him, and he leads the way downward, beginning to explain, "As you have probably guessed by now, this quiet roadside tavern hides quite a secret."
The stairs descend into a wide but low passageway, a comfortable height for Hox, Wes, and Milo, but causing the rest of the party to duck low as you walk for hundreds of feet. The passage twists and turns, but after a few minutes of walking you reach an iron door. The door is etched with arcane runes across its entire frame, and it has no less than fifty locks of varying mechanisms surrounding it.
"Years ago, Ritska and her companions ventured through the hells and back for me. As a reward, I told her of this place and offered her that pin. I told her to bring it to me when she had need of it, but it seems..." Milo says, looking the party up and down, "It seems that she believes it to be a better fit for you."
Milo stops before the door. "Tell me. Do any among you know of the great mage Mordenkainen?" he asks.
Gruun attempts to shrug his shoulder's in the cramped space. He is breathing in short, quick burst and is intently focused on the halfling unlocking the door.
Wes takes a look at the door and the runes. “Is this what I think it is?” Petunia is estates to a giddy level as she dances around. “If I make it out of this, we will definitely have to compare notes if you don’t mind. I have studied what I had available of him, only being able to produceleomund’s tiny hutwhich he is associated with.... nothing of this magnitude. Wes states blandly.
Milo nods at Wes's assumption. "You have the right of it. Most mages are familiar with Mordenkainen's ability to manipulate dimensional spaces, and have replicated some of his successes - domes called to this plane to provide a place of temporary refuge, or mansions in extradimensional planes," he says, looking up at the doorway.
"Desero," he speaks, and at once the room is filled with the sound of dozens of mechanical locks unlatching and opening. Milo pushes open the doorway into a vast cavern.
"Be aware, this room may feel uncomfortable for some of you. There is an antimagic field within this cavern. You might want to give me some room," he says, moving into the cavern ahead of you.
As he walks, the halfling begins to stretch and grow, his skin taking on a yellow tint as he expands to an incredible twenty feet or more, sprouting wings and a tail while his limbs stretch and expand, ending in massive claws. His skin grows scaly, and golden, and within a few seconds, a massive golden dragon sits in the space afforded it by the cavern.
"Mordenkainen trusted me with one of his last experiments before he departed for Avernus," the Milo-dragon booms. "You see, Mordenkainen expanded past his 'magnificent mansions', mixing it with one of the most powerful magical concepts: Time itself."
The dragon points a claw toward the end of the cavern, where a tunnel narrows out once more. Past the antimagic field, a shimmering purple doorway hangs in midair.
Wes goes speechless for a moment. Petunia stops as well before she full on sprints towards the room. Wes snaps his fingers to send her back to her pocket dimension before she would be dispelled. “Marvelous! Just want to casually mention you knew Bigby, Melf, or any other of the circle of eight?..... How did he extrapolate cosmonogy of magnetic fluids to sustain the polarity of the dimensional vortex? he did it! The amount of time, I guess no time at all perhaps... Does time stand still, slow, could her travel through it? Can we?” And Wes just keeps talking as he walks in.
The dragon's mouth curls back slowly, in either a sneer or a smile. "I have met them, yet I did not meet them as they were before they became themselves anew. Through that portal lies a dimension with a...different...sense of time. This was one of his most closely kept secrets; one that he was not willing to impart on the world, yet also not one he was willing to let go. Bridging the two planes nearly destroyed Mordenkainen, along with the plane we walk upon. In return for a generous share of riches, I have guarded this place, ensuring it is used only by those of great quality, and only when the world most has its need. It is not the only entrance, but it is unique in this world," he answers.
"When you step through, your thoughts will fill the space with all that you need to strengthen your mind and your abilities. It is a place frozen in time, and without time's progression, you will have no need of sleep, or nourishment. Mordenkainen had hoped to use this space for a sort of immortality, a place where he could come to perform his studies in the blink of time's eye. However, he could not perfect the spell, and he can not return inside. Indeed, nobody can, once they have entered and exited," the dragon concludes.
"Now, then. There is no time like the present. Soon, there will be no time at all. I will await your return."
Gruun quickly pushes into the larger chamber and takes a deep breath. He listens to the dragon but his words go right over his head. He nudges Killian as they gather inside and mutters in a low voice. "What does all that mean for us?"
Hox is groveling and bowing before the dragon, sort of not hearing his explanation for the doorway. As the dragon finishes his explanation, Hox looks to the doorway, "Where hoard is? Hox want to see hoard!" Hox scampers towards the purple doorway.
Before heading into the purple doorway, Killian turns to look up at the imposing bugbear. "It means, Gruun, we are well and truly over the barrel now. Imagine this, whatever we are being set to do, it is so difficult, or such a disaster, that this dragon is not willing or able to stand aside its duties to fix it. That is left to us. No way out but through, at this point. Keep an eye on Hox along, will you, he's gone gold-blind."
With that, she steps through the strange portal.

Aradurk's jaws falls slack.
"That guy is a dragon", he utters blankly to no one...
"That is a cool bit of magic you got., he speaks aloud to the dragon.

In for a penny, in for a pound. Killian will step through with no discussion, and barely a glance at the caretaker dragon.

Wes is practically skipping in.
Rycider, having kept her trap shut due to her ever increasing suspicion that she is out of her league, can't help but let out;
Well, ah nevah!
Not entirely sure of the protocol, she curtsies to the golden dragon as she passes, on her way to the place that time forgot.
Gruun quickly pushes into the larger chamber and takes a deep breath. He listens to the dragon but his words go right over his head. He nudges Killian as they gather inside and mutters in a low voice. "What does all that mean for us?"
