Finan has a hard time seeing through the rooms to Krusk's office. The fine dust in the air from the fallen earth elemental lingers obscuring his vision. Not one to let some dust get in his way, Jonathan swoops in and grabs the cluster of bones and pieces of flesh as the rest of the group quickly runs from the shrine. Everyone is barely outside when the roof begins to collapse in on itself. Large slabs of marble crash against the marble floor sending shards throughout the shrine. Anything of religious importance was surely destroyed in the wreckage.
The square outside is full of festival goers that have ceased their celebrations and watched in horror what was happening to the shrine. Having witnessed your group charge into danger, they seem to give you a bit of respect and space when you exit. You look out to the crowd and see them mostly in shock from the events.
Paren looks back at the rubble. "I wish it hadn't been in the middle of the city but I'm glad that thing is dead. Beast still had pieces of my home attached to it. Excellent job my friends."

"Yes, excellent job," Tanni mutters to herself as she watches the ruins of the shrine, the dust still dancing in the air and her ears still ringing from the crashing stone. "At least we killed the thing." She takes a couple of breaths and wipes her warhammer to her trousers. "Any idea where that thing came from, or if it's connected to the spider-infested beasts we fought?"
the remains of a once great half orc for anyone familiar with the bone structures that half orcs tend to share. The shredded cloth vest and slacks do little to conceal the destruction they hold. . The vest, once beautiful in its simplicity is little more than torn cloth with a few golden hooks remaining. From the fabric, Jonathan spots several small spiders fall loose and onto the ground.
Paren looks over the body, "That's not an end that he should have had, no matter his intentions. The entity is back by the way. Whatever was blocking it has stopped." He taps the side of his head.

Finan turns to Falaine, "You were here before us, what can you tell us?"
He is pointedly ignoring Paren for the moment. This talk of the entity was putting him on edge more and more, and from his simple reasoning the elemental they just brought down could have been one of Lugh's pawns.
A soft, pitiful moan escapes his lips as he drags dirty fingers through his frazzled hair. It is looking more and more like he and his new friends were caught in the middle of a war between the Gods, and he has no idea which side he should be on. Aiden and Shamara seem like the obvious choice, but he had never really heard of Lugh being a God to be feared either. Grusk, perhaps, but then he did not seem to be involved here. This entity, certainly, but Paren did come up with convincing arguments from time to time...
Falaine, who's been sitting in silence, casts gentle repose on the skeleton. She then turns to the group "We have much to discuss, fire in the crop fields, shards, the clay making these creatures rabid. But first!" She wraps every single one of you in a deep and affectionate hug.
Paren looks deeply uncomfortable from the hug and simply holds his arms straight at his sides. "O..Ok then. Nice to see you too. I guess we have a lot of notes to compare." He then turns to Jonathan and raises an eyebrow. "Perhaps over some food and drinks?"

Tanni is surprised by the sudden hug, but returns it, a slight smile spreading on her face. "Thanks for that. And you're right, we've been running like headless chickens all over the town and it would be best to talk things through and decide what are we doing next," she turns again to watch the ruins, "and to decide what side, if any, we are going to take on this whole god-versus-god-thing going on." When she hears Paren's suggestion, Tanni let's out a loud laugh and slaps Jonathan on the lower back. "That's right, you must be starving! Let us find us a proper meal before another catastrophe strikes."
Finan is fighting the lump in his throat as Falaine wraps her arms around him. It had been years since he'd had someone that close, and with his frayed nerves it was an exceptionally welcome surprise. A part of him just wants to hold on for the remaining hours of the day, and he has to fight to keep himself together when she breaks free to move on to hug Jonathan. As she parts, he gives her a weak, shy smile, quickly casting his eyes downward to hide the tears welling up in his eyes.
A few moments pass, the attention of the group still focused on Falaine and those speaking up, before Finan looks back up, his facade of resolve repaired enough to face his friends. He even manages to shoot Tanni a wide grin after her playful jab at Jonathan, gesturing for her and the others to lead the way back to the inn.
((OOC: Here is a very crude map of the entire region for reference: MAP. This does not include the Northern Settlements which are considered a different region. Let me know if you have any questions or if there's a landmark I missed.))
As you all gather your wits and depart the town square, you see that the crowd has grown in size as they take in the damages to the shrine. You notice several dwarven workers makeing their way to the rubble trying to determine what the plan would be. The structure was completely in ruin. The marble could be harvested for other projects but it certainly couldn't be used to make the Shrine back to its former self.
The destruction of the holy site dedicated to Shamara only offers more questions to the group. You'd learned that there was an imbalance at play with the shards being taken from their resting place. Could this all have been caused by the entity to try and find the shard or was there something else at play. What you did know is that several servants of Shamara had been killed today and that wasn't going to sit with well The Mother.
"And what am I supposed to do with this?" Jonathan gestures to the corpse in his arms. He scoffs. "This is so very unbecoming..." He looks to someone he can palm off this body and take care of it, he isn't a man of the cloth, it's their job to deal with the dead in his eyes.
As Jonathan looks around, he finds that the people in the crowd are giving him a very large berth. They are uncertain of why the man is carrying the decomposing body.
Falaine would know that Krusk could perform the spell.
She would also know that...
It would take quite some time to find a skilled healer that could restore this man's body. It had been mostly eaten away by the team of spiders that encapsulated the half orc. There is the possibility she could get the half orc to the firbolg clan deep in the forests to attempt to save him. Looking at the body, she would see that her magic was holding but there was something actively fighting against it as if he had lived long past the time a normal half orc should have lived. It's godly magic that is trying to consume him.
Seeing the crowd gathering around and remembering the deadened effect he felt during the fight Paren reaches out and tries to sense if there were any sources of good or evil in the gathering (Divine Sense).

Paren, expecting to find at least something here especially so close to the most divine place of worship dedicated to The Mother finds nothing. There are no celestials lingering in the crowd. There are no undead ready to claw their way into the masses. Things are the way they should be as far as he can tell.
The group seems relieved as things settle though the dead body still gets carried. Thr group begins to make their way back to the Wishing Well.
