" stop thief should check for a trap on that sneaky door there, it's fair to say something knows we are here. We can go the main path where the watchers will expect and probably be prepped for ambush or we can go through the sneak and peep door. Either way I think we will run into some fun. How do you gents want to proceed? I figure since we need to map this joint anyway either way is good."
I will check at the cameo of the ugly person to see if it is interesting enough to keep..being a fan of art and all
Norelan finds whoever is farthest from the door "Hey mate you wanna sip of this, real nice stuff they got up at that yawning portal. Needa come over ere more often." as he walks over towards the door slowly still making chit chat as he pulls out his longswords and stays in the middle of the room eyeing the door

" well, that makes for easy deciding then. Have mache aka lil Rambo lead off and we can proceed. I suggest that I follow along first after mache, then Taman, etc. Wherever you guys think your specialty will be most handy. Light armor and distance guys should stay back behind the iron walled guys and the sneaksters should do what they do best. Glad to hear different ideas or we can just move out and see what the next corner brings. DONKEy Kong is ready to smash something.."

Vaden makes sure he is as close to the middle of the group as he can get, even giving the vertical shaft back up to the Yawning Portal a last look before he heads off with the group.
(OOC: Put down the marching order for me, just to be sure where everyone is... Taman will go just ahead of Vaden, in the center of the group if that is possible. Donkee is up front, with Mache possibly in the lead, where is everyone else?)
OOC: Mache will stay in front as long as he is invisible, but will fly back after his first strike if possible. Secundus will stay behind the party as much as possible)
Edit: I misunderstood my pact abilities, and cannot cast mage armor on my familiar using them. Mache's AC is back down to 13
Once at the bottom, Rurik groups up with the rest and also waits for everyone to arrive.
While waiting he looks around at what he can see. Perception 14 He brings out the Whisper Jar, and begins to speak about the topic of Undermountain. Then he realizes he hasn't seen what the Whispered Encyclopedia may contain.
"Guys i forgot, we can see what the Jar may know. Maybe someone has gone here and taken notes before us. And if not, well what a way to add to the Whisper Jar." History 9
While waiting he also casts Find Steed summoning Shadowlight. A pure night black mastiff, with piercing blue eyes, appears before the group. "Hey old friend, good to see you today. We are in uncharted territoriy. I am glad to have you by my side. Keep your eyes, ears, and nose sharp today," Rurik says as he pats Shadowlight on the head and scratches him behind the ears.
(OOC: Yeah you get nothing from the Whisper Jar...)
OOC: Mache will stay in front as long as he is invisible, but will fly back after his first strike if possible. Secundus will stay behind the party as much as possible)
Ooc: that's the way I was picturing you doing it. He is a cool little minion. We should take time and only move to each bend so we can see what's coming and so we can see if we find more sneaky trick doors
@DM- was the cameo thing-a-mabob an Interesting nugget? Maybe make a good gift for the Izz lady

The cameo was just a trinket that was left in the sand by a frightened adventurer, nothing big.
(OOC: is there anyone in the group without darkvision? There is zero light down here. both Vaden and Taman are wearing Goggles of night.)
The group decides to head down the tunnel. You travel for a bit, heading South then curving to the West.
After a few minutes of walking you enter a 20-foot wide hall, at the west end of which stairs descend 10 feet to a room lined with pillars. Similar staircases descend into the pillar room from 10-foot-wide tunnels leading north, west, and south.
Before you get to the stairs down to the pillar area you find the below in the hall you need to pass through.
Bas-Reliefs. Every 10-foot section of wall has a 9-foot-high, 4-foot-wide, 3-inch-deep door-shaped recess containing a bas-relief carving of a demon. Each relief depicts a different kind of demon (see below).
Skeleton. A kenku skeleton lies on the floor, one of its thin arms pointing toward a bas-relief of a nalfeshnee demon on the south wall.
The carvings on the north wall depict (from east to west) a balor, a barlgura, a chasme, a dretch, a glabrezu, a goristro, and a hezrou. The carvings on the south wall depict (from west to east) a marilith, a nalfeshnee, a quasit, a shadow demon, a vrock, and a yochlol.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Donkee takes time to admire and study the sculptural works on the walls and and the surroundings looking for traps, secrets peepholes, doors etc...then will pull out his notebook and record what he sees and the distances for the map and then restore his book and pen to his hip pouch.

Donkee does not find anything abnormal about the wall carvings.
Vaden stays away from the carvings along the walls and tries not to even look at them. He clearly does not enjoy being here.
Taman moves to the walls and also looks over the carvings, following Donkee in his search for secret doors and whatnot. He does a more methotical approach, tapping and testing the area to see what he can find, instead of just looking it over, since Donkee did not find anything that way.

Taman glances around as everyone prepares to do something. He moves forward and tries to see how to open the door.

"I see no way to open that door from this side." Taman informs the group as he studies the door. "No traps, but also no way to get through it..."
